I watched NIMH myself as a pre-teen on old school HBO but my son used to watch Land Before Time as a youngster in the 90s. I don't know that I've ever seen American Tail but if I have it would have been the same situation as TLBT.
I saw NIMH in the theaters in the mid eighties if memory serves, and I think American Tail is like late eighties early nineties, and Land Before Time is mid to late njneties.
NIMH I remember watching as a babysitter. American Tale had a great song. And Land Before Time was something I watched as a young mom 1,000 times. The story of the little actress who played the stegosaurus broke my heart.
I loved it, too. I'm a huge fan of NIHM, but Feivel was just so full of love and innocence. Plus that song! 💗 Now, if you put An American Tale next to The Fox and the Hound...

My (possibly cold) Secret of Nimh take is that, sound off/no subtitles it’s a masterpiece. I throw it on in the background all the time, except the dialogue is terrible. You don’t even need it. But throw some music on, it’s A+

the book, Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is so much better than the movie. They made the movie so weird and spooky and made Jenner some kind of super villain and Nicodemus some kind of spectre.
Dom Delouse was pretty memorable as the bird.
I liked the movie but the book was aces. And the story is more straightforward adventure.
I love the music from American Tail. The climatic ending from Secret of Nimh always gives me goosebumps. Land Before Time was a good semi horror film whenever Sharptooth showed up. A good tester for kids if parents are concern if they can deal with horror. I just enjoy Don Bluth films in general.
