This will give a potential glimpse of Geelongs future. Four older players out, their replacements coming in.

BlazedOnADragon

I mean 2 of those 4 are walkup best 22 anyways. Neale has always looked the goods but was never getting a game ahead of those other 2.

bar_ninja

And Stanley is done end of the year.

tagorneo

Why do we play Witts against North and then bring in the backup ruck against Geelong.

PetrifyGWENT

North's biggest strength is the ruck, Geelongs biggest weakness is their ruck (although Conway seems like a gun)

codyforkstacks

That's also an argument for playing Witts against Geelong - to maximise this advantage.

PetrifyGWENT

For sure but if I had to guess they didn't think they'd need to manage him, but he pulled up sore, and they weren't going to pre-emptively rest him against a team with a good ruck

flibble24

Clearly you played your best team against the mighty Norf and are resting players against minnows Geelong

Fast_Stick_1593

We’ve won the same amount of games in the past fortnight as Norf so clearly we go on who has the better memes. Congrats meme overlords 🦀

limeIamb

Both teams are on at least a 2 loss-streak Hard to split them

TheIllusiveGuy

If I was a Suns supporter, these types of decisions would leave me at my Witts' ends. ... Sorry.

tagorneo

I love it and you.

pointlessmistake

Moyle is a very good ruckman - he will have a great game I think

OkLibrarian9311

Of his 4 games, he has always played against good mature rucks. He should go well against an inexperienced one.

[deleted]

Xerri is a more difficult match up than Rhys Stanley / a 5th gamer whos name I can't recall.

sltfc

Maybe not wanting to play him in Darwin conditions? How does he go in the wet? Is he prone to soft tissue injuries?

Phlanispo

Nah that makes sense, Xerri was a dangerous opponent that needed to be stopped, Conway is just a prospect at this stage. Rest the big man on such a short break.

L-J-Peters

You wouldn't have been planning to have to manage Witts for this game but these things happen.

gurgefan

![gif](giphy|L8uXd5D1OQMV2knzK4) Out with the olds, in with the kids!

Chiron17

Outstanding work

CharityGamerAU

You play a team that you can get a distinct advantage in the rucks  against and drop Witts? Either he's genuinely hurting or they've lost the plot

PetrifyGWENT

Playing 2 games in Darwin that close together can't be easy and Witts always cops knocks. You'd rather play him against the team with a ruck that is good (Xerri), than one with a weak ruck.

PetrifyGWENT

Reckon that the Suns have a serious chance. They play the ground there better than anyone

liamjon29

They're pretty close to even odds. I tipped them before seeing the changes. I reckon they've got this

Phlanispo

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, we're complete flat track bullies this year and fold under any real pressure.

redlord990

A chance..!.?!??!!? We beat them last year and Darwin is our best ground. “a chance” you reckon

PetrifyGWENT

They're a much better side this year

redlord990

I reckon we’re a chance

PetrifyGWENT

There's still a quarter to go! (I tipped you btw)

PagieHD

Might be our youngest team in nearly two decades right? 2x 200 gamers and 2x 150 gamers

MisterMarcus

Only 4 players over 30yo by my count (Blicavs, Rohan, Guthrie and Stewart)

sly_cunt

really weird to hear it put like that. bright future for this squad, even if we end up shitting the bed again this week (please don't)

MondoBuzzo

Average age just reduced by 6 years

_nicklepickle

toby conway is about to fuck up everyones day

ken_beays

That’s a lot of managed players.

spurs-r-us

Turns out 'omitted' doesn't exist anymore?

BlazedOnADragon

This is Scratchers moment! The forward line is basically his, hope he smashes it. Can't complain about any of the ins, that's for sure

Doc323467

Really surprised by the lack of Touhy. I thought he was cooked last year, but when given the opportunities has looked really solid this season. Given the slippery conditions and need for bigger bodies, I would've picked him here.

sly_cunt

stanley and duncan are cooked at the moment and neale at this point can do everything hawkins can and probably more with a bit of confidence. cameron is a big out though

NavyStarz

T T T T T TOBYYYYYY yay!! was Very worried he could get smooshed vs witts but then gold coast decided 'nah fuck that play the backup ruckman' so now i am a little less worried and more VERY FUCKING EXCITED!!!! its conway time baybeee

lurkin_gewd

Odd team for the Sunnies. Here’s hoping the Cats can’t cope with the weather and they get heatstroke

dopedupvinyl

Not surprised at the changes here. Glad to see some youth in our squad

burnedscones

I'd like to speak to the manager

hwuvvqy168e

Nice of Chris Scott to put Stanley as "managed"

leured88

Far out. I think the Suns might get this one.

Phlanispo

Yeah this is what I figured would happen with a 5-day break in hot conditions. Moyle's a decent backup and Conway isn't scaring anybody at this stage of his career, so it's best to rest Witts while you can. I also expected the younger players to get rested.

redlord990

Can Dimma fuckin play Levi Casboult pls? I don’t want the poor bloke to finish up stuck on 198 games cos the new coach keeps playing Sam Day in front of him.

KAHomedog

Who's everyone tipping? I was pretty bullish on GCS before these changes but now not so confident.

pointlessmistake

Rowell CHB lol
