Playing 2 games in Darwin that close together can't be easy and Witts always cops knocks. You'd rather play him against the team with a ruck that is good (Xerri), than one with a weak ruck.

I thought he was cooked last year, but when given the opportunities has looked really solid this season. Given the slippery conditions and need for bigger bodies, I would've picked him here.

Yeah this is what I figured would happen with a 5-day break in hot conditions. Moyle's a decent backup and Conway isn't scaring anybody at this stage of his career, so it's best to rest Witts while you can. I also expected the younger players to get rested.

North's biggest strength is the ruck, Geelongs biggest weakness is their ruck (although Conway seems like a gun)
That's also an argument for playing Witts against Geelong - to maximise this advantage.

Xerri is a more difficult match up than Rhys Stanley / a 5th gamer whos name I can't recall.
