44K people at the stadium, one light rail line to Central Station. I don't want to stay another 10 extra minutes to add one hour to my commute time. We were well ahead, no point stay till the end.

Meh, between the frequent services on that light rail, the event buses and the people walking to central/Redfern (a pretty manageable walk) it always seems to flow pretty well in my experience. I usually just walk to central though, so if that’s not an option to you then I guess it makes sense. Personally though if I’m at the game for a statement win like that I don’t really care how long it’s going to take me to get home, I’ll just soak up the vibes as long as I can. How I’m getting home won’t even really occur to me until the event is well and truly over.
