elvislunchbox

You can tell those guards haven’t had anything exciting happen in a very long time.

Snow-Dog2121

Nice hit, he's auditioning for the Rams. They need linebackers.

Dansk72

But would they have tackled him just like that if he'd been naked?

musicosity

They probably would've came from the back 😏

NotAlwaysSunnyInFL

On the back*

reginaldwrigby

They would have tackled him even *harder*

DaddyMcTasty

No kidding, they have to watch baseball all day long

212superdude212

They don't even get to watch baseball, they're usually staring at the crowd

beanandween

That's actually better then

NtBtFan

remember a few years back when that guy threw a slice of pizza at the other guy? best bit of a baseball broadcast ive seen in decades!

Lord_Mikal

In South Korea, they sell fried chicken at baseball games. It is normal to chuck the bones on to the field. South Korea understands baseball.

epicpandemic916

But they made the pitchers not stall anymore so it's way more exciting!

Condescending_Rat

Nah they probably cos play real law enforcement on the weekends.

segregatethelazyeyed

Every night when they get home they practice on their wives.

0-2er

that guards been training all off season for this

UniqueCartel

They LIVE for that opportunity

Porkchopp33

Get them @ the XFL combine asap solid contact

Funpants-1219

Surprise, ex-boyfriend was the security guard!

UhYeahOkSure

Surprise . Another lawsuit against dodger stadium for excessive force. LA Lawyers are drooling rn and wrestling each other. Guard fired . Guy claims whiplash… at least 500k is my guess

Remote_Radio1298

Nice wedding present.

Ace_I1

All a part of the plan

SansCitizen

Paying for the wedding and the honeymoon with the proceeds of the proposal is a real galaxy brain move.

Hossflex

That’s good for what, half a house in LA? 3 months rent?

spicozi

I have a banana box in the backyard listed on Zillow for that price.

EDS_Athlete

Holy shit. Seriously? I've been looking everywhere and I was going to have to rent a cereal box in WeHo. When can I move in?

spicozi

Today but you have to dig your own latrine.

EDS_Athlete

Score! What are the chances that I have a brand new shovel that needs breaking in.

Links_to_Magic_Cards

There's always money in the banana box

Roheez

How much could a banana box cost, Links_to_Magic_Cards, a half million?

idontknowshit94

Who tf told you about my banana box stash??

dunn_with_this

I stayed in an Airbnb like that in your area once.

Annual-Concept-9033

Being serious, that could get you a decent 2 2/3 2 1,100-1,500 sqft house in an okay area in San Bernardino County, but that’s about as far west as you’re getting. Also it’s 166 months and 2/3 of rent for a good place to live on the outskirts of LA county and about 104 months in LA. To put that into context, that could buy a 3 bed 2 bath finished basement 2,200+ sqft house in atlanta and a 4 4 finished basement w pool/1+ acre 2,400+ on the outskirts, or 416 and 2/3rds months of rent in the outskirts and 312 and a half months rent in the city (all rent based on 2 bedroom current market rate median).

HappyDaysayin

But then you'd have to live in Atlanta.

[deleted]

You make-a the funny joke, no? You come-a to my restaurant I give you greatest marinara of your life-a

Condescending_Rat

Californians don’t buy property in California. Everyone knows that.

edWORD27

In LA, all you need is a shopping cart, a tent and/or A tarp and you can live anywhere you want. Go to Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, or wherever!

enwongeegeefor

> Another lawsuit against dodger stadium for excessive force [FIVE NEW LAWSUITS FILED AGAINST THE DODGERS](https://abc7.com/dodgers-dodger-stadium-security-excessive-force/12075437/) These are *NEW* lawsuits...implying that there are ***OLD*** lawsuits...

[deleted]

Give the guy 50K and she'll get the Wedding of her dreams! Two years later and divorced!

Constant_Praline579

A settlement with a lifetime ban to Dodger Stadium. Hope he likes the Angels.

DiogenesOfDope

I don't get why they felt the need to use violence on a man already on his knees. He could have literally just ask him to leave

coni_gitar

It's really stupid the way they tackle the guy. It's really stupid guy decided to propose there.

Kn7ght

You can tell the guard was like "Now's my time"

MrOtsKrad

"I've always wanted to do this!"

BloodedNut

Dude did not choose love that day

[deleted]

He saw his chance & boy did he take it

The_Bearded_Jedi

You can see him humping the dude with all the excitement

CarrotChoker

“It’s Brucie’s time to shine!”

teenslayer

Whispering in this guys ear “who’s yo daddy”

totalpugs89

Maybe they prefer rugby.

Alpha-Bravo-C

Looks like contact with the head. Player in white is stationary, doesn't dip into the tackle, tackler makes no effort to get low enough to avoid head contact. No mitigating factors. It's a red card.

UberGary79

Dude shouldn’t be on the field, but holy shit that is ridiculous.

hednizm

Overkill?

AggroAce

Much?

[deleted]

I assume it's to make an example of him, but yea, overkill

LopDew

Like he might actually die from that, even if it takes a while.

[deleted]

Zywakem

100% of marriages end either in death or divorce.

EverythingHasItsTime

My marriage is heading straight for one of those.

Links_to_Magic_Cards

Remember the sign of a successful marriage is one of you crying over the dead body of the other

MissingLink101

Not for Bill and Frank!

LopDew

Sorry bro. Better one than the other. You are worth it. Even if you don’t act like it, you have it inside you fam.

Ok_Swordfish_947

Mine ended in divorce but I'm also sure I'm gonna die somewhere in between 1 day and 40 years from now

KinkyKong

Hey, the day's not over yet :)

Ok_Swordfish_947

I feel a bad case of death coming on right now! Hangover

TheFnords

Yes.

therevjames

I bet the security guard will put this clip on the highlight reel that he submits with his police training application.

IlIIlIl

Hi I'm Former LAPD Sgt Steve Diddle-Kids and is the flying fat fuck slam reel

krilltucky

How dare you it's Steve WIFE-BEATÈR Steve Diddle-kids is the youth pastor

kevinnn220

☑️ Non-violent crime ☑️ Defenseless, possibly non-white offender ☑️ Unnecessary use of force Welcome to the LAPD, son.

xedrites

☑️ Subject in possession of significant quantities of ice, expertly cut w/intention to distribute. ☑️ Subject found holding a rock, claims was for "best friend in life" (under interrogation admitted this person was their "hookup") ☑️ Officer detected odor of grass, literally surrounding subject on all sides

Dansk72

LAPD Academy drop-outs?

more_beans_mrtaggart

Why tackle someone already on their knees/a knee? Someone loves their security job.

showquotedtext

That was my first thought, massive power trip/overreaction.. then I thought... This is the US. Could it have looked like he was potentially reaching for a gun? That's my only possible explanation.

McSkeevely

Tackling idiots who run onto the field is a much of a national pastime as baseball itself

imapieceofshitk

That guard had been waiting his whole life for somebody to give him an excuse to show us his tackling technique!

DoinItDirty

For real. The people acting like this is the same as police brutality don’t understand that someone getting lit up for running onto the field is as exciting as the chase itself.

BaconWrappedRaptor

And a beautiful form tackle it was

JakeHodgson

Sure but the interaction has been "reset" once he knelt down. There's no longer any confusion really. You can deal with the situation in a more controlled way. It has been like 10 seconds after he took out the ring before he was even tackled.

Substantial_Bad2843

Uh I see people tacked this way when running into European soccer fields. Those fans kill each other over sports too when the match is done. America gets a lot of hate, but place it.

royston_blazey

Surely security guards get sued for that kind of behaviour in the U.S?

joethecrow23

It’s one of those weird things where you can basically try to kill somebody who obviously means no harm to anyone and everyone just accepts it. Sports is so sanctified and revered in that disrupting it is seen as a major criminal offense worthy of this sort of extreme punishment. If an actual cop did this to someone on the street doing a more serious crime people would be up in arms. But this person interrupted the holy sportsball, he must be dealt with.

Stal77

Friend, I have some bad news for you about how thousands of street arrests happen every day.

[deleted]

After Dimebag Darrell's murder I think there was a big change in security at live events and people going on the field or stage was now seen as a serious threat instead of someone being funny.

ohnoaguitarist

Huh? Increased security at sporting events was 100% because of 9/11, not dimebag Darrell’s murder lol

NerdModeCinci

Dimebag Darrell’s murder inspired 9/11 despite happening after

wiener4hir3

It's not like sport isn't revered elsewhere, I'd say probably much more so in many other places, it can be done without endangering people like that for such minor offenses lmao.

thrice1187

You trespass at any event like that you’ll probably get tackled. Same shit would have happened if he ran on stage at a concert, it’s not exclusive to sporting events. This is some r/ihatesportsball material.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NergNogShneeg

This guy really should sue the shit out of the ball park. I am sure there were medical bills associated with that over use of force. If you can injure a criminal in the process of robbing you and they have the right to sue, then this guy surely has a case.

TheHYPO

> I am sure there were medical bills associated with that over use of force. I'm sure some lawyer would claim there were. A young man of decent size gets tackled from his knees onto grass. Yes, it's possible that in putting his arms behind his back they could injure or break his arm, or that he could have some neck injury, but I'd say it's equally or probably *more* likely this guy will at most be a little sore in the morning. So I am not as sure as you that there are medical bills associated with that over use of force.

NergNogShneeg

I'm not exactly old, but I'd wager if I was tackled that hard by a guy that large, I would need to at least have a once over by a doctor. The force was unwarranted and there should be repercussions when folks in positions like this abuse their power. There was no reason for this guy to think this kind of force would be used in this situation. Regardless of how you feel about the potential for bodily harm, it shouldn't have been a matter of discussion to begin with. There was not a single reason for them to go straight for a tackle without any type of attempt of handling the situation in a civil manner. The security guard here was just plain wrong and should not be working that sort of job if this is how they handle things.

booyaabooshaw

They want a funny proposal story? I'll give them a funny proposal story

taesung24

Dudes an idiot for going on the field. But that’s some fucked up shit to tackle a guy like that when he’s not even running.

dont_ban_this

That security guard has been waiting his entire life for that moment.

YourAverageGod

Peaked in high school as a fullback that went to state and lost

YoungAnimater35

If coach had just put him in the 4th quarter, they'd have won state, no doubt, no doubt.

Ssyynnxx

wanna watch me throw a football over them Mountains

TARANTULA_TIDDIES

That or off duty cop - the overly aggressiveness is there

[deleted]

I agree with this analysis.

BbBbRrRr2

Seriously though, fuck that asshole. Dude is literally stationary on his knees, why the fuck would you tackle him.

wufoo2

Yeah, that kind of hit, without football pads, is approaching deadly force. Three-on-one and the guy had only violated property rules, no sign of hostility and not trying to flee. 0/10, security. Do better.

420fmx

“Approaching deadly force” lol have you never seen a game of rugby ?

FatBobbyH

Honestly, as the guy proposing, this would be my preferred outcome. "Babe, I would go through ANYTHING to spend the rest of my life with you. Let me prove it! Be right back, get your phone out!"

SANTAAAA__I_know_him

I disagree, shows very poor decision making.

bedpimp

Meatloaf has entered the chat

Ching_chong_parsnip

>"Babe, I would go through ANYTHING to spend the rest of my life with you. Let me prove it! Be right back, get your phone out!" "I would go through ANYTHING to spend the rest of my life, **after prison**, with you."

GramercyPlace

They all want to be cops.

IveBinChickenYouOut

When my ankles allowed me to skateboard back in my teens, we used to skate in a carpark and we used to call the rent-a-cops "Whoppers", as in 'Wanna Be Coppers" and because they appeared to have a diet consisting solely on Hungry Jack's (Burger King for non Aussies). They used to chase us around in their electric carts while we'd just outskate them, good times, good times.

AzrielJohnson

Why is Burger King called Hungry Jack in Australia?

nrfx

So apparently, there was already a small food chain called Burger King operating down under, and they had the trademark to that name. So when the American Burger King wanted to expand into Australia, they had to come up with a new name.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ggtffhhhjhg

I assume Hungry Jack is more successful and that the owner of Burger King made a mistake by not selling the rights.

Shokoyo

Outside the US, cops would get suspended for tackling an unarmed person into oblivion for basically trespassing

lukeCRASH

Inside the US, they would do it and shoot them for good measure.

TARANTULA_TIDDIES

Hell in my city cop instructors even accidentally shoot their trainees lmao

[deleted]

Stop with the fucking public proposals, already.

RustyJuang

I'll take 100 of these over 1 gender reveal.

specter800

If only we could have neither.....

trwwy321

But 100 of these obnoxious proposals will probably also end up being 100 obnoxious gender reveals. They’re usually done by the same narcissistic people with serious r/imthemaincharacter syndrome

Noideawhatjusthappen

Yeah, 16th birthday parties are so over rated.

[deleted]

Hahhaahaa

Braindead_cranberry

Yes

mikethet

Agree, deserves the tackle based on that alone

Benwagonhoff

Also deserved it for being a dodgers fan

teapoison

Why? This was entertaining af

[deleted]

That security guard thought he was all cool, probably waiting for that moment his whole life.

Hellenic_91

Top flight security of the world, Craig!

nickfield1996

Not just the city, the WORLD

Thomas_Mickel

“He was kneeling there, all menacingly. And that’s when I ran in and tackled him saving 25,000 people from a potentially awkward moment.” -security guard retelling the story.

Osceana

Mfer really thought he was in The Bodyguard or something

DID_system

Paul Blart 2.0

thrashatonement_714

He lost that ring haha

obiwanjabroni420

Yeah you can see something shiny bounce out past his hat when he gets hit. He looks like he’s reaching for in before they cuff him, but I don’t think he was able to grab it before they got his arm because it looks like he’s trying to point to something.

heyitsthephoneguy

Hopefully he gets it back but really he shouldn’t have brought *the* ring on the field with him. Should’ve left that one at home and used the candy store ring for this lol

Soxfan21

Saw an article that one of the security guards retrieved it for him

LineOutMaster123

Unnecessary roughness. Would’ve been hilarious if the security guard injured himself by accident from that tackle

louloc

Came for a lifetime partner, left with a lifetime injury. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Seriously though, those rent a cops should get sued for that.

[deleted]

They were hoping for that. That is their "On-field Security" wet dream. "That's just crazy Chip." "But I'm just saying, 'What If?'...." "Who the heck is gonna just stand there in one spot and wait to be tackled...?"

trippleBob

The outcome was perfect for the stupidity on display.

[deleted]

Ahhh, he went to Jared! Oh wait, no, he went to Jail! That’s it, jail.

CptCrackSparrrow

r/Iamthemaincharacter

AssbagMcDickfuck

Proof that when given the slightest bit of power over others it's inevitably abused. Unnecessarily aggressive

LiJiCh

You should read about the Stanford prison experiment.

0pyrophosphate0

The Stanford prison experiment was not good science and the results have not been reproduced in similar studies.

Canrex

Bingo. The guards were encouraged to act as they did. The researcher is a hack and wanted to prove people would act that way. Small group, no control, no diversity in subjects, all around bad science.

[deleted]

Tacklin' fuel

dont_ban_this

Captain Insano shows no mercy

CraftsmanMan

Your name is Needledick

fortnitemobileuser

thank god security guard isn’t a cop

spaektor

i'm sure he applied and got rejected.

Dependent_Sun2713

“STOP, DROP, SHUT EM DOWN”

jwill602

jperson6789

Impeccable timing

friendlessboob

How come no one will OPEN UP SHOP?

NinjaCuntPunt

That’s a paddlin’

gaggzi

Security was like “I’m gonna murder that guy”

NDGuy47

I mean, he could have just walked up to him and say "hey bud, ya gotta go"

21_saladz

That guards wife just left him

northwesthonkey

Most exciting baseball game ever

Maxieroy

?What did he and his friends think would happen? MLB forbids it to be shown during a game but it happens often and available on many platforms. Guess what.....they all end exactly the same way! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Nignug

And you get a lifetime ban

adelaide7794

Lowered body to average belly button height, attempted to wrap, had his head up the whole way, but didn’t drive through the tackle with his leading leg. All in all, I’m gonna give him a 8/10 for technique.

SjalabaisWoWS

I don't understand this dude. A proposal is a most intimate thing, why would you do it like that?

fluffHead_0919

“How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.”

Ticio_Tesson

What did you think was gonna happen

DankDaddyPatty

Part of me feels bad for the dude, but then part of me just wants to say "you fuckin dumbass"

OMG2Reddit

Nah, dont care, life isnt your Disney Movie. Deserved the takedown.

CarJitsu

Quit inconveniencing everyone else for your stupid marriage proposal, nobody cares

samlaurendi

Didn't think that one through did ya buddy.

Own_Advertising_9185

Because the world isn’t all about you.

greatfuljehjeh

Gotta be quicker than that buddy

whitecorn

Yeah.. let's start off an engagement with a huge fine and lifetime ban.

TakePeaksWreckSheets

Dodger fans are useless.

coffee_slurp

Literally. Otherwise he would have avoided the tackle.

no_instructions

Hehe, the moment I saw him on the pitch I was waiting for him to get bodied

FriedeOfAriandel

I get why people are pissed at the tackle, but I found it hilarious. Is it unnecessary? Absolutely. But every American sports fan knows that being tased or tackled is extremely likely if you run onto the field. Play stupid games, win excessively stupid prizes

cheesehandler12

Wtf did he expect?

cyberdw4rf

I think it sends the right message. He should not be on the field. Hopefully people think twice before doing something like this again. That's not unnecessary roughness, that's a guard doing his job, while intimidating potential followers

LJ_Pynn

If you propose to me in public, I'm leaving you.

elcrack0r

You'll better let your partner know. Everyone does stupid things when they're in love. Not that I would have ever done that.

u36ma

Great camera work. If only it was in landscape mode

LeandroC2

So, was that a yes from the guard?

[deleted]

Hell Nah!! Not on my fkn watch!! 😂
