I like dirt under the fencing. I know this is an adorable video game, but the dirt under looks more “real”. I feel like the left looks more clean/crisp, which makes it look more “game” than “lived in”.

vroni147

Same reasoning but different result: You wouldn't plant or use the field directly to the fence but leave a bit of space. In the end, both look as realistic as you think of them 😁

jellyfishbbq

Most would still have woodchips or some other mulch than just grass left in between.

Nomadic_87

I like the dirt under the fencing tbh

minus-76

I think I vote dirt under the fencing but don’t round the corners

[deleted]

I agree, sharp corners would look nice under the fence

RepresentativeLynx22

I think dirt under the fencing makes it look more full

ssodaro

yes dirt

LeotaMcCracken

I like the dirt under the fencing

ThillyGooths

I vote no dirt under fencing, I think it’s just more aesthetically pleasing

katiieffr

yess dirt underneath!

BryanV21

I say no to dirt under the fencing. Keep the dirt inside.

finnegantoby

I like the dirt under the fencing!

mooney182007

Yes dirt!!!

SuteMeow

Yes dirt under fencing, looks more realistic

[deleted]

I think it's Better with the dirt underneath the fence

Rhiannon8404

Dirt under the fencing

Liminal_Creations

I like no dirt, makes it feel like a more manicured garden

CobaltFinger

I like it without but you should definitely put another path under the fencing like a wood or rocky border.

jellyfishbbq

I say dirt under the fencing or find a mulch texture

Umamibomb_

yes

Dahlsma

I love that curved dirt, looks way more natural! I'm totally going to steal that idea, duh never thought of doing that!

Shelter1971

It looks more pleasing but decreases your produce planting area. Once the snow is gone it's going to look great outside the dirt.

badasshoneybri

No dirt under!!!

Educational-Towel540

looks good either way, but I think without the dirt under the fencing it looks cleaner and more symmetrical

EffectiveCycle

I think it looks better not under the fence

Aspiring-Sunflower

I like without dirt under the fence.

lonniemarie

Either way

demiurbannouveau

No dirt under the fencing but put a custom design down there, mostly transparent but with a little uneven circle of various browns that lines up with the fenceposts.

fearncaitlinxo

Can someone please tell me what this fencing is called!! I’ve been trying to get this everywhere but can’t seem to find it or get the recipe to build it

EffectiveCycle

It's the barbed-wire fencing. Check your Nook Miles store every day, there will always be two fence DIYs available and they change all the time.

fearncaitlinxo

Thankyou! I would like it for my farm :) I’ll look again today

Equivalent-Chance-39

I go through this every time I do it too 😅 I usually end up choosing dirt under the fence.

Firstborn_Unicorn_89

I like the one on the right

Comfortable_Cod_666

Yes 👍

clemmatine

I like it under the fence!

Ok_Victory260

No dirt

NinjaKatsassin

Yes.

ImprovementDapper992

Yrs

Living_Anything7268

I think no diry under fencing but it's really up to you

LemonReady2582

I'd say no dirt under the fence I've always been a fan of rows of crops, so I've always only put dirt under where my crops are, rather than the entire area. It's not like you'll constantly process and dig around where you put the fences, at least not in a realistic sense

Far-Cauliflower-6775

Definitely a fan of the farm on the right!

elmohasnolegs

the one without is personally preferred due to aesthetics, but takes more space. The one with dirt underneath takes up less space, and gives more of a ‘rough’ feeling to it, as if the care and growth is more meaningful than the looks.

xxash2368

On my island I don’t have dirt under fencing… but these comments are making me change my mind 😂

Alternative-Ad4008

I like the dirt under, looks more natural and takes up less space.

[deleted]

I always do light dirt so it's seperate but looks better :)

NewAd8165

No dirt under fencing 👍🏻

[deleted]

Yes dirt!
