DAMN, BRO GAVE A MASSIVE LIST. Assuming you watched all of these, i’m gonna say that most your recommendations are good because most of them on your list i have watched, and enjoy every single one. A lot of these I also already have on my watch later list, so thanks!
Yeah I’ve seen it 2 times on a 3rd rewatch now cause my comment reminded me of it lol and my teen romantic comedy forgot to put that one for OP it’s pretty good
Shikimori's not just a cutie (Established from the start, boyfriend has murphys law, girlfriend is athletic)
More than a married couple but not lovers (School has mandatory act live a married couple project for a couple months, both mcs like other people but have to live with each other)
The dreaming boy is a realist (Mc used to stalk girl, eventually realized love is never gonna happen, girl got so used to it shes now unsure)
are all of these slices of life? or do they also have bits of fantasy in them? Just wondering… I’ve been planning to watch Fruits Basket for awhile because it’s been recommended to me so many times, but since its one of the longer ones, i’ve been holding it back lol
I should have said the first version of Fruits basket from 2001 (shorter with like 26 eps vs. 2019 that has like 3 seasons). Both are great and I would say you could consider it fantasy because of the whole zodiac curse part but that’s about it. Definitely was recommending it more for the romance side of it.
The other two are romance based recommendations with a touch of slice of life. Or at least that’s how I view them.
It's always interesting to me how much people love Darling in the Franxx. It came off as an okay anime that was extremely heavily inspired by Elfen Lied and NGE.
I guess your watch history really impact how you feel about a show.
Being the most recent one that i’ve watched on this list, i personally found it to be a great story. It was also one of the few that left me with a void and empty feeling after finishing it instead of a “i want more of it” kind of thing. But that’s probably because the ending just had a very complete feel to it
>!Psychic aliens from the other side of the universe were using humanity in a proxy war against the original inhabitants of Earth who fused with their technology. Humans reverse engineered the ancient technology to make mobile suits and cloned the queen of the original inhabitants who was the only one remaining in a physical body. Zero-Two is that clone. The main character accepted the super-cancer he got from piloting the mobile suit, grew magic horns, and he and Zero-Two fused with an ancient warp weapon to pilot it to blow up the psychic home world. Some time later the two reincarnate and meet again on Earth as kids.!<
I liked both Elfen Lied and Franxx, but I enjoyed Franxx more. The music, the voice acting, the premise, etc. I DID watch Franxx first, so I wonder if that could have influenced it. But I enjoyed Elfen a lot too. It left me wanting more.
Yeah, I don't dislike Franxx. Just for me I don't think I could give it a fair chance as it made me reminisce about the older shows rather than experiencing it on its own.
Yeah, the order could have had something to do with it. I watched it fairly early on in my anime viewing, so it’s among some of the early ones that I have a fondness for that I can’t explain lol. SAO is another one that most of my anime friend don’t like, but I watched it very early on and it’s one of my favs.
Best RomCom I've seen is My Bride is a Mermaid (eng dub)
Todd Haberkorn voices the main character, Nagasumi and it is downright hilarious. You'll love it.
I also loved Franxx - more than most people. It really resonated with me. I had never watched an anime and then watched it again back to back. Granted, I felt the ending was rushed and I wish they could have finished it using the source material. But I just really enjoyed it overall.
I loved the anime, i’m just not entirely good with the ending lol. I find the ending to be much nice in the manga haha. But for real tho, Franxx is an anime I won’t be forgetting anytime soon, a personal favourite of mine for short length animes
i’ve seen Plastic Memories, man that anime got me depressed, especially after watching it back to back with others like Your Lie in April and I want to eat your plastic memories. Ima add Sukasuka to the list, thanks!
Alright time to introduce you to GAY ROMANCE ANIME HEHEHE.
Yuri on Ice
Sasaki to Miyano
Given
I’m a huge romance anime fan and these 3 are by far my favorite out of the romance animes I’ve ever watched
Will definitely be giving bubble and the girl through time a try, the rest I have watched and they were all amazing, most of them sitting at 9-10/10 in my opinion
Horimiya
Farming life in another world
The ice guy and his cool female colleague
Yuru camp
Bocchi the rock
Way of the househusband
Tanaka kun is always listless
Ms. Kobayashi dragon maid
Blend S
Restaurant in another world
Wotakoi: love is hard for otaku
There are also three OVA that kind of finish the story if you like the series. I'd recommend reading the manga if you get hooked to get the whole story.
well…Because it was april, i decided to try out YLIA because there’s so much recommendations of it on youtube, lol. And then I decided to ”I like this, make me cry more”
I watch way more genres than just action shonen it's just I try not to watch to many depressing series in rapid succession, maybe one depressing 2-3 upbeat.
It's best to avoid the dark spiral and balance out the good vibes and bad, it's alot easier to begin feeling depressed than it is to stop feeling depressed.
yeah I realized that early on lucky, that’s why i’m on my 4th rewatch of Naruto, i’m just not completely binging it and switching it out every once and awhile
So is that the only genre of anime that you watch? I know this may sound generic but I mostly watch shonen fighting stuff. And if you only like slice of life romance, why?
I don't know OP's opinion, but I personally know I go through phases of genres. Sometimes I'll be super into shonen for awhile, and then I'll have my slice of life phase and watch multiple animes in there, and I'll switch it up again...it just depends on how I'm feeling I guess. 🤷♀️
That’s interesting, but mainly the only reason I’m watching so much shonen is bc I’ve only been watching anime for a year now so I’m still getting all the basic stuff out of the way. And by basic I mean more mainstream ig
Quintessential quintuplets.
Ever since I heard that a movie existed I’ve been hunting for the dubbed version to be released. The many year wait for it was worth it.
Nana, If you're ready to get emotionally/mentally involved lol. Then Paradise Kiss, if you liked Nana.
My Love Story with Yamada Kun at Lv999 for something lighter than the two mentioned above.
Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It was cute and a little more unique.
I personally liked A Sign of Affection, but I know it had mixed reviews.
And absolutely agree with whoever said Steins Gate above, it's too good. 👌🏼

86 Eighty Six
Clannad is sad but great, and since you liked Anohana, A Silent Voice and Your Lie in April I imagine you would like it.
Given is also amazing, a bit shorter but really good.
Fruits Basket is pretty long but super worth it, I really loved watching it.
Daily Life of the Immortal King & The Disasterous Life of Saiki Kusuo
…are good choices. They’re similar in concept with an OP protagonist- but Saiki is WAY funnier and more relatable, while DLIK is significantly more dramatic with more emotional depth and BEAUTIFUL animation. The eleventh wall is broken in each of the shows (awareness to those writing/animating it, and the viewer).
Kaguya-sama: Love is War Love After World Domination Aharen-san wa Hakarenai More than a Married Couple, but not Lovers The Quintessential Quintuplets Banished From the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
I started love is war recently, and currently have quintuplets on my watch list, i’ll look into the rest on this list, thanks! I’m liking love is war right now
Kaguya-sama: Love is War is one of my favorite series ever and has a great main and side love story.

The day I became a god and Charlotte but no angel beats 🤔❤️
Eh, no reason I didn't add it or others. I just have an insanely long list and stopped typing it up at some point.
Hahaha I can imagine. this is a fantastic list by the way. I watched quite a few on here and loved them all
Toradora! Is a pretty good one
This is a classic think I’ve watched it 4 times now and tried dub and sub great romance story with a bit of comedy and has its serious moments to ❤️
Yeah I’ve seen it 2 times on a 3rd rewatch now cause my comment reminded me of it lol and my teen romantic comedy forgot to put that one for OP it’s pretty good
Shikimori's not just a cutie (Established from the start, boyfriend has murphys law, girlfriend is athletic) More than a married couple but not lovers (School has mandatory act live a married couple project for a couple months, both mcs like other people but have to live with each other) The dreaming boy is a realist (Mc used to stalk girl, eventually realized love is never gonna happen, girl got so used to it shes now unsure)

i dunno, the whole second half i was like "what the fuck is happening". kinda ruined it for me

Oy I watched it so good he also voices Natsu from fairy tail
Love Live! School Idol Project
more than a married couple, but not lovers. both sub and dub are very good and the manga is immaculate
Try Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
I also loved Franxx - more than most people. It really resonated with me. I had never watched an anime and then watched it again back to back. Granted, I felt the ending was rushed and I wish they could have finished it using the source material. But I just really enjoyed it overall.

Exactly! They didn’t stick the landing for the ending.
yeah, though I’m still happy how Zero-Two and Hiro’s reincarnation meet again at the very end, that scene made me a tear up
Plastic memories or Sukasuka
i’ve seen Plastic Memories, man that anime got me depressed, especially after watching it back to back with others like Your Lie in April and I want to eat your plastic memories. Ima add Sukasuka to the list, thanks!
