Moushidoodles

Do you live in an area where they're native? I would just let him go, he could be breathing that way from stress of getting caught

Luscious_Lunk

You should put him back.

gmf93

Is it injured? I would just release it outside unless you’re willing to invest a decent amount of money to care for it.

Primrose_hoggy

Iv wanted an anole for a while so I will probably take him in

SpiderMax3000

If you want a green anole, I would get a good set up and then buy captive bred. Greens are struggling, so it’s best not to pull them from the wild for pets.

Primrose_hoggy

Yeah that makes sense I’ll go release him

Barotrawma

Thank you!

Urinal-cupcake

Got any links where to buy?

SpiderMax3000

Not really, morph market is always a good place to look. Otherwise ask around at a reptile show for captive breds.

CaramelAlternative45

Petsmart has them for 10 bucks

Urinal-cupcake

Not by me. Theyre native here in Fl so noone carries them since the cuban anoles are everywhere and I guess people want them more than the green

SpiderMax3000

Yeah but they’re likely wild caught at petsmart. You’ll also support the community more on morph market or at reptile shows.

gmf93

I hear you but you will need a decent sized vertical tank, a UVB bulb, heat bulb, fogger, live plants, and decor for the tank. They’re cute but are not cheap.

Due-Pack-8685

Where I live they’re feeder animals you can get for 4 bucks. Petco/any reptile store is your friend.

Cold_Technology4494

Yea he’s just nervous bc he think your a predator and he’s basically saying as I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death I shall not fear

NYR_Aufheben

Leave it in the wild?

HunterRosier

Set that poor fella back if you havent already and don't torture it by keeping it besides theirs not much you can do unless you invest money into it like another has said, if you want a anole I suggest going to your nearest pet store that sells animals like that (petsmart or petco) will probably have them and they arnt that expensive from what I remember also they have multiple varieties to choose from

Tago_The_GiraffeKing

Definitely release him, they breathe like that when they are scared. Also don’t keep them, the ones in the wild can’t survive in captivity

Available_Shake_5040

If you’re in this southern heat, I would find him a shady spot (like under some bushes where he can hide) and a super shallow dish of water. Good luck to the little guy!

SandraLou2

He don't look "held" captive on top her hand. They're curious. I Agree, in the south, release in shady spot, shallow dish with bottled water, his skin looks dry but healthy.

Release immediately
