Well things do eventually get better now u gotta see what u learned from it and see the "red flags" from the start before it progresses to much that it will become painful.
You allow yourself to grieve the loss of that potential future life until you realize that you are grieving over a figment of your own imagination.

Yea, that's just one of the problems with heartbreak. Best to not think about that too much, and bid your time to recover and move on, so you can build another and possibly better future together with your next partner.
