This is my reason as well, took time to read and upvoted the responses I give, that validation of agreement just gives a good rush, negative same responses in head didn't like it but took time to read it respect for it that feeling of inclusion in the conversation good or bad you get the validation feeling of at least I'm being heard.

Reddit is the only social media platform or something like that which I can't seem to quit. My friends often suggest I quit it as it's a cesspool.. they aren't wrong.
During this age where people hardly read what you send, even if I get one upvote, I feel like someone took their precious time to read what someone has to say and makes me feel good!
Likewise, some communities have useful information and there are people who take time to explain/ help fellow Redditors and I just keep on reading. These things have got me addicted to Reddit.
I just want someone to talk to. Reddit is the only place I can talk about my emotions and mental health without burdening anyone or driving them away. Conversely, excessive internet use is probably why I feel like absolute existential shit so much of the time. I bet if social media wasn’t around, life might be something I live and not something I just think about like a fucking ache.

I enjoy seeing how people get so worked up over what a random person on the internet says. They person has no importance whatsoever, but people get so angry anyway.
Having a “canvas” to dump long held thoughts onto. Something truly satisfying about being able to make sense of your thoughts by writing them out somewhere…It’s damn near therapeutic for me.
I can't leave my home without being accompanied by family due to my epilepsy for me it's the inclusion of conversations that take me from feeling locked in a home but open to a wide community to travel through a feeling of freedom I guess you could say.
Reading the different perspectives on things when it comes to sex and relationships. I also really love watching demolition, ship launches, wind turbines, or any other massive feat of engineering.
Articulating a point of view well enough that it generates thoughtful and honest conversation, and gets upvotes even when people disagree. So I get my fix pretty rarely, lol.
I mostly hang around to either remember that I'm totally alone or that I'm entirely.doomed.
So...confirmation bias? Hope that anything in life can be different? Stupidity? Desperation?
I think reddit is my guilty pleasure. With every amount of pleasure, I get twice the amount of guilt, but I still love it 🤣
I think all social media platforms are abt validation so I guess we all are here for that.

I love getting insight into others lives. It helps me come to terms with the fact that no one is perfect, so that I can stop being so hard on myself and understand that I am human and make mistakes too.
I also like learning from others mistakes, and others lessons. I’ve started eating healthier, lifting, and take better care of myself than I used to. Of course, I’m still a work in progress, but it’s the progress that makes me feel good. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I have also on the rare occasion asked for help, and I often give help or advice to those younger than me or that found themselves in similar situations and how best to handle that with the world experiences and perspective that I can offer.
TLDR; To help, and to give back. To learn from others, and to teach others. To become the best me that I can be, and to help others to do the same. Thank you fellow redditors!
We dont "follow people" here. We just hang out in subreddits with the same interests. Also this might sound mean but I feel like Reddit has less idiots. With that I mean that "Tiktok challenge" Idiocracy. I feel like here on Reddit are more "normal" people. At least I personally have many nice conversations and discussions here.
The fact that whatever I'm looking for I can likely find it here. When I Google something there are a ton of sponsored ads. Here it's all real humans who share their experiences
