The first half is indeed a documentary.
My favorite scene is the psychiatrist's office where Peter says every day is the worst day of my life because of his job and the guy says "wow, that's messed up" and then corrects himself. It honestly was the first time in my life where anyone ever summed up exactly how I felt about working in a useless job for way too little money. I replayed that scene a dozen times because finally, someone GOT IT!
Then there was Lumbergh's birthday party where everyone looked miserable and he goes on about Hawaiian shirt day and you can wear jeans if you want and nobody seems interested and he just doesn't get why.
Airplane!
Though to be honest it's probably more often than once a year. Whenever it pops up when I'm scrolling through a streaming service I have to come up with a reason not to watch it.
Ever since I misplaced the DVD and purchased it on Amazon I usually kick it off the night the Steelers get eliminated from the playoffs. For the next 3 months I put it on as white noise as I'm cleaning on a Saturday or Sunday. It's just one of those movies where every minute has something hilarious.
It's not a movie, but I watch Band of Brothers once a year. It inspires me to believe in humanity and fight for the person next to you. At the end of the day, that may be all you have.
All of my children have been mesmerized by this movie. They are usually all over the place but I put this on and they just sit and watch, quietly, it’s magic, 4 times proven.
This is a Christmas movie in our family and we watch it every holiday season. My wife doesn't like Christmas or Christmas movies, but she approves of LOTR and Die Hard.
Even though I think it’s better looking and has better actors I still prefer Nausicaa, Mononoke, and my absolute favourite Porco Rosso. Howl’s is fifth behind Castle in the Sky. Ughh now I want bacon and eggs.
The Lord of the rings trilogy for 3 reasons.
1. The Balrog scene.
2. The battle at Helms Deep.
3. The Rohirrim Charge.
The trilogy is so good, but those are my 3 favorite scenes that'll motivate me to watch almost 16 worth of TV in about 2 days. You have to go with the extended editions.
Mean girls (Oct 3)
Miss congeniality (Apr 25)
I make it a regular party/girls night and try to pull together the whole thing myself so people feel free to just show up.
One time I watched Jaws around late august and really regretted how little I had appreciated the summer. Now, I watch it before Memorial Day Weekend in the US to psych myself up for summertime.

We really need to make better holidays and better movies about those holidays

Oooh thanks, I will need to try those. I can always use some more movies that can give me a few minutes of peace.
