And there's a lot more thought that goes into speed limits than you think and is done so with these types of safety issues in mind.
If you want to go fast go to a racetrack and if you're late well then work on your time management skills. You're a pretty shitty human if you think you get to endanger the lives of everyone around you just because you might be a few minutes late to visit your friend or whatever
