Sure! The TTRS and R8 come with these buttons from the factory. This is a chinese kit to retrofit them into various other models. I got the kit on aliexpress. Obviously, it's not oem, but I'm pretty impressed with the quality.
No idea but I found a video of a dude doing this retrofit. I didn't watch all of it, but at some point he was making his way to the start button to tap into it. So im assuming the drive select does something similar. But I'd love to do this mod. Feels so racecar.
I'm 100% positive you can find some for your TT. Check ebay or aliexpress. People sell them in the US, but they just drop ship them from aliexpress for 3 to 4 times the cost.
Have a look here, you need to buy a piece of hardware and it plugs in the ODB port and hooks up to your phone with Bluetooth. Then you can change loads of settings.

Could it be an S5-only thing? Maybe you need to enable that with ODB on the A5. I'm pretty sure mine came with a Lap Timer by default too. I know one of the things you could not do with ODB was enable the center tach on the A5, but other options were possible to add.

I know it’s not you, OP, but, It’s not OBD-Eleven, it’s OBD-Two!! Really grinds my gears 🙃

> Why Is OBD-II Written As OBD2 or OBDII?
OBD-II codes are the second iteration of the diagnostic code listing system and are often written as either OBD2 or OBDII. (It’s also easier to write without the dash.) OBD-II codes are well-known among car enthusiasts, so there’s no need to be formal when talking about them. And since the OBD-II system has been around since the mid-’90s, it’s become synonymous with vehicle diagnostics and everyone has their own way of writing about them.
Ok I just watched the installation Video.
Even tho it’s a great mod, taking apart so much and drilling into the wheelcover to fit thoses are not for me 😅😅
Looks great tho :)
Do you have a link to the specific seller/proof you purchased? Some of them show and say the stop star button won’t be straight/horizontal but I can see yours is and looks great.
Look really good, thanks for posting this. I had no idea they made aftermarket kit like this. always liked these on the newer R8s.
How difficult was the install? Anything that needed to be programmed via VCDS or OBD11?
OBDII (Roman numeral for 2)

Oh I see the confusion. I just meant that I already have a push to start button 8 inches to the right, and my * button already changes the drive mode on the steering wheel. So it's not like this mod increases speed or efficiency or anything, I just think it's fun to have to buttons there.
How hard was this?
Explain please, that’s so cool lol

What about programming them in to work?
Why is no one answering this question?

I’m soooo impressed lol, good on you OP!
Does the start button work?
Yes.
I really want to know where you got these from, would love to see if my TT is compatible. Thanks.

Appreciate it, I shall take a look! 😃
MK3 TT should have the same harness as the RS just buy an R8 wheel and hook it up
Link us to the kit please! That's awesome.
I made the * symbol on the steering wheel drive select.
You can do it via MMI
Cries in heated steering wheel
I don't regret going with the heated wheel at all, but man I still wish the flat bottom wheel just had a heated option.
Not in a 9.5
How
ODB app, you can change a lot of settings.
Would you mind sharing the instructions for this?

Thanks, I do have an ODB plug - in terms of settings to change, what am I looking for? Or is it quite intuitive?
It's intuitive and has quite a nice interface that you can search as well. It's under steering controls.
Err… since when do you an ODB plug for that? MMI, Vehicle, Vehicle Settings, Steering Wheel Button. Select “Drive Select” or one of the other options.
That option is not available on my car (B9.5 A5)

Do you know if they make one for the US?

Does look cool, and as you say OEM. What happens if you hit the red button when driving?
I would also like to know the answer to this question
Post the link to these please
Looks dope thing
Looks great, well done!
Looking for "Engine Select" and "Drive Start" buttons myself
Audi's interiors are just awesome.
How easy was it to fit?
Great job, I want to do this soon, was it difficult?
Didnt even notice at first looks very oem (i guess because they are actually oem buttons). Nice mod
I would totally pay someone to do this to my B9S5. Lol
No auto start stop disablement? Looks good!
Autostart is disabled on my car. It's configurable in VCDS.
I love it. I need to research this
Did you cover up the start button on the dash, or do you just have two start buttons now?
I don’t have the need to have the start button on the steering wheel but that drive select SHOULD have always been there.
There is this option too…. [https://youtu.be/yNVLPW1xvfY?si=S_l5KQ5vyrXK0idy](https://youtu.be/yNVLPW1xvfY?si=S_l5KQ5vyrXK0idy)
Are they non functional?
They are both fully functional.
I'm trying to understand why it's "not a practical mod" then, as you said. Seems highly practical to have those buttons right there.
Oh I see the confusion. I just meant that I already have a push to start button 8 inches to the right, and my * button already changes the drive mode on the steering wheel. So it's not like this mod increases speed or efficiency or anything, I just think it's fun to have to buttons there.
Gotcha. Still, looks awesome regardless.
I’d imagine buying a R8 TTRS wheel would be less cheesy
The word “drive” not being capitalised would drive me insane.
That's how it is in the TTRS and R8 which both have these buttons.
Really?? That seems absurd.
Yep. These are aftermarket, but they replicate the oem buttons pretty well.
It's always baffled me. All other controls in the cabin are uppercase and screen menus are sentence case. 🤷♂️
The drive select button text in the center stack isnt capitalized. Having it capitalized on the steering wheel would look off

It's literally how it is from the factory in the r8 and ttrs
