The lawn looks like you might need to remove some serrated tussock. Bad weeds. Annoying to get rid of.
Other than that you’re good to move straight in!
I love the open plan kitchen/dining area
The grass is overgrown. You'll need an arborist and council permission to remove any weeds that have been established longer than 5 years- they might have qualified for heritage listing by now.
In the 50's, houses used to have separate walled rooms. Though this looks open plan living. I would have your building inspector check to make sure that wall wasn't load bearing.
Looks like a small sikaflex job mate, look for someone charging roughly $6/LM so you know you aren’t getting ripped off, looks great so far, pics on completion please!
Thats asbestos.
The only answer in every post. And always the correct one! Good job mate. Your expertise helps OP.
Don't risk it, one fibre and you'll get your death certificate in the mail.
No. I would leave as is - I hate when people ruin old workmanship with sloppy renovation. Put some fake grass down though.
* slaps wall * 30 more years and this baby is national heritage
Bit of builders bog and a few tubes of "no more big gaps" should sort that lot out!
The downpipe on the left looks a bit crooked....
Worth getting that checked out by a professional. Often its nothing but it could be caused by movement in the bricks
Structural engineer at minimum.
That's the thing, a wall might look safe to you but if it's brick on edge then that changes matters
Sorry, I don't see what's highlighted in the red circle. Could you zoom in or be more specific?
There’s a sub for things exactly like that but I don’t know the name of it anymore
/r/uselessredcircle
Reads like a news dot com dot au clickbait article
Some asshole drew a red line around your house. I bet it was neighbour.
Nah should be right. It’s just settling, very normal for properties of this age. Think of the beautiful natural light you’ll get all day, every day.
As long as it has no asbestos, you’ll be great. Personally I’d turn it into an Air B&B and change premium price for its “rustic charm”
It's "Open Air BNB"
Indoor/outdoor living 😂
Open plan……everything.
The building inspection will be quite comprehensive because this is ‘access all areas’. You could be on a winner here. Good luck.
So she’s a bit of a fixer upper
That can be fixed with corrosion resistant metal stucco lath.
If you can’t find metal stucco lath… Use carbon fibre stucco lath.
Should be fine with the westerly winds
Skip Bin Fees.
Ventilation is good, may need some insulation!
I recommend you insulate while you have the plaster off.
Naaa lick of paint and she’ll be right
A door sausage will do to keep the draft out
Renovators delight!
This is the best feed ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nope looks mint..!!
That should buff out…
Nothing to worry about cracks can form when a house settles
Quick trip to Bunnings and you should be right.
You can rent it out 800$ per week.
Nup. But I wouldn't be happy with the line on that gutter down pipe.
Bit of silicone, she'll be right
Make sure to do a pest inspection
That doesn't look like mid-50s mate. Looks more recent.
Typical built Aussie home, go for it!!!!
Just minor cosmetic issues. Looks good to me. The lawn looks a bit neglected though.
Lead paint was popular back then, so maybe just a fresh coat over the top.
Those trees look a bit close, the roots may be starting to get not the drain pipes.

Love the open plan living and the seamless way it transitions from inside to outside
Partially renovated.
Nothing a bit of liquid nails can’t fix
The window might need some fixing otherwise looks structurally sound
$1.5m eh?
You might need some no more gaps
Your going to have to........... "Pick up the pieces, and build a Lego house" - Ed Sheeran. 2011
Check the window frames
I would lift the house and move it to a blue chip suburb
Painter will fix it… nothing to worry about.
Add some friable asbestos and termites and you have a grand design.
Should be OK. Ventilation looks overdone, but just see how it goes.
The lawn leaves a lot to be desired.

The only thing I can see is that you should stop poking fun at putin.....looks like a direct hit to me ....
Is that asbestos?
The windows almost on the footpath, might wanna put that back in. Other than that, i love the character of the home.
Get rid of the big red circle and I think it'll be fine.
Bit of sika should do the job
Looks like it has good air flow.

REA: "Fixer-upper! Renovator's dream! Great ventilation! $800,000"
All good bro
It appears to be broken where no one can live in it.
Nah. She’ll paint up fine.
I dunno looks like a bit of termite damage there. Get a pest inspection report.
If the previous owners don't bother to maintain the lawn for your inspection, just imagine what else might have been neglected.
Nice a fixer upper!
Might need a new window. But other than that this would go for 1.7m in Sydney.
Couple of nails will fix it
In the 50's, houses used to have separate walled rooms. Though this looks open plan living. I would have your building inspector check to make sure that wall wasn't load bearing.
Paint over it and rent it out, should get at least $800/week
A couple of tubes of no more gaps and half a tin of paint and you're good to go.
Needs paint.
It seemed fine to me at first glance, but after looking more closely inside that red circle, it may actually need some minor renovation
Someone needs to go to spec savers asap.
Looks like a small sikaflex job mate, look for someone charging roughly $6/LM so you know you aren’t getting ripped off, looks great so far, pics on completion please!
Building Inspector will pass it.
It'll buff out 👍
Hmm, I’d so consider changing the windows, they aren’t very nice, other than that I can’t see a problem.
Still better than many rentals... 🤔😁🤣
Ay mate the house is broken half of it is collapsed
When the Scope said Demo the bottom living room & you turn up to site & are like the scope doesn't say brickwork aswell you DumbFuck
