I think it’s just stock they couldn’t get rid of when they first released. If so It’s called “dead stock” and you’re lucky to stumble upon that type of store!

I know right? Seems Mattel has gone backwards, sort of. Straight arms, straight legs. I said sort of because the quality of the fashions are nowhere backwards. Even the $20 dolls wear cheap outfits. Poor Ken and the shorts. Kenough already. 😆
It’s so funny tho because this is the era where a lot of collectors were getting frustrated at the dip in quality over the 90s and early 2000s but if we only knew how bad it would get and how good we had it 😭
I love finding old fashionistas in shops ! There are a few shops near me that stock old fashionistas because I live in a more rural area! 🤍most of what I find is from around 2015 but I love the old faces sooo much 💗
Did you grab her!! I once saw a Digital Dress Barbie a few years ago in a Hamley’s, they gave me 50% off since she was a decade old! Also gotten similar discounts in local stores when I find old dolls.

Unfortunately yes in the Caribbean where I am it is 🥲 (and that’s USD) And I’m sure this is the old price tag so, even crazier for back then.

Before we started getting printed on glitter instead😔
I honestly prefer the printed glitter. It doesn’t flake off and get all over everywhere. 😁
Looks like the Barbie product to the right is from the same era. It has the artwork used from around that time.
