Rode down the road there once with a couple of others on motorbikes a good few years back (before Lidl, we were lost) and someone immediately got up from the garden and tried starting a fight with someone in our group.
When I was a student 10 years ago we went in there. The regulars eyed us up for ages and eventually told us it wasn't a student pub and we were told to leave
Go there on a Saturday night..screaming and shouting and fights there all the time with police presence. They used to have bouncers on the door at weekends.
For what it's worth I've been in their like 5-10 times before Bath City games and never seen anything untoward. Admittedly that is not in the evening though.
>He then proceeded to tell us a terrible racist joke before getting really upset that we didn't find him funny, he said as a nurse I didn't work hard enough and that Covid was all due to the laziness of NHS staff.
>He then went on to tell me I wasn't wanted in his bar, he didn't need people like me in there and that he had 4 million pounds in the bank more than me so my custom ment nothing.
Classy
It is the same bar. The latest reviews are accurate. I feel sorry for the staff. However he has been like that for decades, long before it was a gin bar.
It used to be the Longacre Tavern. The livingstone is fine as it Twerton’s flat roof Centurion. The full moon also in Twerton used to have a reputation. I think most pubs are fine now. The Grapes used to be rough as hell and full of regular benefits claimants with the lane sick and lazy but the new landlady has completely turned it around to a really friendly and happy pub which I would say is one of the best in the middle of town.
Well I live and have lived all my adult life within 2 miles of
The white horse
The Golden Fleece
The full Moon
The Centurion
The Livingstone
And the fleece is the only one I wouldn't go in on my own
The Livingstone has the intimidation factor from those glass bricks
Have you been in?? The landlady was really nice and they have a secret aviary in the garden!
I did some years ago, but no not recently
Yes, it’s a bit of an unknown quantity, but when you go in it seems fine and the birds in the back are a definite Brucie bonus
Golden fleece by Lidls

Old crown Twerton is worse.
Eh? I go there before the Bath City games and it’s fine. Hardly intimidating or rough

Ha! Fair enough. I’ve always thought Twerton’s reputation was ill deserved but I only see it on Saturdays at 3
I'm banned from there 🤣
No loss, what did you do? 😅
Did someone get stabbed by there not too long ago?
feels like invasion of the bodysnatchers walking in there
For what it's worth I've been in their like 5-10 times before Bath City games and never seen anything untoward. Admittedly that is not in the evening though.
Been there loads it's fine
Canary. Check out the trip advisors. It’s a glorious and accurate account of the piece of shit owner. Staff are lovely though, just that sex pest.
just did and shocked that no one reported him I did not know until I saw this comment.... so thank you

Kings Head in Weston. Once saw a guy get dragged out and thrown into the back of a van
Centurion Inn, surely.
Stop calling me Shirley.
The “Cench” (Centurion)
The hat and feather. Formerly.
Always a place to go (upstairs) if you needed some special herbs and resinous materials made from plants.
Can't imagine what that might be. Lol Happy Dayz.
Which is just down the road 👍🏼
Indeed.
Haha, yeah, and old people pop in thinking it's a public loo
Guessing you're talking about The Livingstone?
Correct!!
Wetherspoons 🫣
When my son was about 7yrs, I'd take him in there for breakfast as it was cheaper than the zoo. He had questions.
Lamb and lion
not anymore
Been repainted?
new ownership, security ect, been pretty nice for a year or so now
Fairplay. - used to be the pub the twertonites went when I lived there.
The red lion in odd down has to be a contender
Why do you want to know?
Because this same question is going round loads of other sub reddits and the OP has very little imagination
Ah, thank you.
