I'm not sure of other gut rebuilding diets, but I know Joel's does that, he snuck a lot of cool things in the diet.
So to completely rebuild the gut is a longer process that requires some supplements.
I'm writing a 25 day fat loss diet that fixes the gut, but there is the Immune Centric Fat Loss course from Joel as well.
Let me know if you need the link for that. I think it's $150.
Edit*
Removed some important details.
Thanks for the information.
Just read a book a long time ago where there was a diet/method that had been around for awhile.
Doctor who wrote the book had added some supplements (glutathione I recall) to it and Thomas basically the only change they made
Cool, the course with Joel is centered around the gut, eliminating LPS from the serum, macrophage polarity, adipose mass and it's signaling and a few other things.
Example.
A person with 30% bodyfat would have Inflammed adipocytes with more collagen 6 and tons of inflammatory signals that would send cytokines to macrophages for them to switch to "kill mode" .
This changes their metabolism to glycolysis.
Why this matters is something that blew my mind.
If bodyfat has signaling power and 30% of your body mass is made of it, it has more signaling power than all of your organs.
Your liver can signal in a few ways with Acetyl CoA and affect FIAF and some other pathways but your body fat is being ignored when it might be the "sleeping giant" .
Sorry if that doesn't entirely make sense, it's hard to explain without getting in the weeds.
Appreciate that.
So that leads us to identify our problem which is Inflammed body fat.
How do we get there?
Start with the gut, clear LPS, then we can start the process.
If we have the gut microbiome populated with a healthy flora, you get system wide health benefits that spill over into all other areas.
One example is better secretory IGA function as well as more b vitamins from bifidobacteria.
Hey!
Course was insane. The first 3 weeks I felt that I had a solid grasp, then it got overwhelming and was difficult until the 18th week!
He references the book a lot but goes so far in depth.
It was fun and I have 3 hours to catch up on still, but I loved it.
I'm running a test boost I learned and hitting the gym 2 times a week to record results so I can write something for that, currently.
Sent, let me know what you think.
The first 3 days is a take on a single ish food diet along with functional FODMAP ish diets.
It gives you a chance to painlessly cut out everything and slowly reintroduce fiber and resistant starch back in.
So you feed the gut while eliminating almost all foods then add oligosaccharides and phenols with resistant starch.
Makes a huge difference.
The difference between this and others is sustainability.
Interested, Op! Just got a gut test from Thorne, been having a lot of digestive (bloating, constipation) issues, looking to try a reset as I ease into a more controlled nutrition plan. Thanks!
Hey! Sent that over, bloating is generally intolerance due to gut microbe populations.
Constipation can be a fiber issue or a mixture of gut microbes, fiber type and a few specific bacteria.
What's your diet like? Did you ever go carnivore or use extended fasting?
I am a little late to this party but if you are still sharing I would appreciate a copy! I have been digging into the gut health and am reading the book (it is a bit of a painful read I must say).
Thank you for helping to make a more accessible/user friendly way to implement it!
Hi there - I would love to get a copy of this id you're still happy to share. Will also check out your website if you're happy to DM it :) Thanks so much!
Hey SaintJoe, I would also love to receive a copy as well. I have terrible gut issues, and I do both his books, but I do find it difficult to put it all together. Would love to see what you have come up with. Thanks in advance!
Hi there- I’ve been looking for a coach to implement Joel’s work as I have a wild work schedule and would love help creating a routine. His website offers the training but no link to find certified trainers as far as I can tell. Any advice on how to find a coach? Are you taking clients at this time?
From their website
>He has hacked peak human...working out once per week, eating whatever, whenever, and does it all on fast food! He is the future of real world health and nutrition, today.
Sureeeeeee
Hey, sent.
Also, I'm finding that single strains are the way to go if you need them, but the best way is prebiotic fiber and functional foods with fermenting foods as well as resistant starch.
He really is, he just dropped a dope Young Body product for longevity and he's dropping a few more that will be so great.
He's got almost 100 coaches now, and plans to do 50 per year for the next few years.
Plus another book almost done.
Exciting stuff and some great information.
I'll be sharing with you guys to practice what I learned.
Hey, with that I would talk to a practitioner and get some antibiotics, then run the gut reset after.
You'll need a little more after the antibiotics so I would say look into some HMO from Layer Origins and start with quarter scoop with a scoop of red phenols daily, work up to a full Scoop.
Do that with the 8 day and you'll have a solid gut.
I actually had to run 3 types of antibiotics for 3 weeks, I recovered quickly with this method.
Yeah I do the 3 giant antibiotic treatment once every 10 years. I’ve had this since I was a 12 years old which was really bizarre as i was one of only a handful of cases back at the time in my state and it was still being studied. I was a stand out because of my age and the fact that I lived in a 1st world rich country. There is a write up about it somewhere (it was like 25 years ago)
I’m due for another endoscopy (once every 3 years) this month and I have a feeling they will find some again as I have started having little bit of random stomach pains for the first time in many years and I’m always looking for alternatives to eliminate it. Or just things to do in conjunction with taking the antibiotics
Thank you so much. I’m going to dig into it tonight. Does this work with intermittent fasting? If so, should I just compress meals evenly into an 8 hour window?
Hey,
Yes and no, if you look at the days 6 and 8 the fasting is built in to the day with first meal at noon.
Fasting too much can cause other issues with the gut, so we work on insulin function, glucagon and carb tolerance on day 1 then Incretin and adiponectin on day 2.
Saw your post about having been sick with Covid 3 times.
CD38 macrophage populations are increased due to Covid and they gobble up NAD.
Take some NMN if you have any or even Resveratrol could help with that.
There are a bunch of steps to take with that, but healthy gut is one of those, so tackle that and research CD38 macrophages.
Should help.
Thanks Joe! Looks good, and I have a couple of quick questions:
- is coffe/tea/alcohol allowed, not allowed, or only allowed in moderation?
- is there an ideal meal timing protocol fir the first few days, or just eat when hungry?
Hey, coffee and tea are great!
Alcohol would depend on how much during the 8 days and the type.
I would say stay away but you could sneak in a drink or 2 if you had to. Would stick to a shot of something as opposed to a mixed
Drink or beer.
2. 4-6 meals would be in your standard day, my day starts at 5-6, so I make my first meal 8am, from that point if I do 6 meals it's every 2 hours, if 4 it's every 3.
It's intentionally flexible based on intuition.
Yo!
A ton of science, I just spent 20 weeks digging through it.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27446020/
That's a solid read on butyrate production and how bifidobacteria does it's thing.
The 8 day goal is to control digestive intake for enough time to repopulate the gut.
Digestion can take 51 hours, so we need at least 48 hours of diet control to make a change.
So we use phenols in large amounts to cover the surface area of the gut and build Bifidobacteria, then use resistant starch to feed them with banana and oats.
Then reintroduce fructose and honey as the only sweeteners during this time, then deal with hunger hormones on day 4.
After that we move to a more sustainable diet for 4 days with real food that can be done in any circumstances from 0 time to on the go or even when you have meal prep time.
This is the only way for sustainable success with any method of eating.
And all of these things will positively impact the immune system and will also burn fat and increase the chances of keeping the fat off due to LPS cleared from the serum and macrophage polarity control.
It goes 4-6 layers deeper than that.
Hope that helps.
I feel like this makes you super gassy haha. When you have time can I get the links you were taking about in DM?
Also curious, what are you using to “dose” the new bacteria? I guess which beneficial bacteria are you promoted the growth of? Do you take a probiotic?
I normally wouldn't send to a new account with no post history, but even if someone stole the ideas from this, they would have to spend 3-4 months researching why it works and how so many parts work together that they wouldn't be able to evolve it.
So I sent it anyway.
Sent!
Question, are you waking up stiff and notice it takes a while to get going in the am?
It's a question about to find out how the apnea is affecting you.
Any chance you know the name of the diet that's designed to rebuild gut biome and lining? I know you fast...then do stuff like drink beef broth

Yes I'm always willing to share anything I might know. And yes I'm coaching a few people a month to build my skills.
I’ll be keen to take a look also
