Here's a feel good story for you guys. When I first got into Bitcoin, December 2017 and I basically put my life savings in at the top. Watched it lose 80%. Had a female colleague come in and she was laughing at me, calling me an idiot etc. because apparently I was too dumb for investing into Bitcoin.
Fast forward until November 2021 and I had been DCA'ing ever since. I bump into the same colleague, she's laughing again and in a demeaning tone asks, "So how's your Bitcoin going?".. I pull up a chart, showed her the price last time we spoke vs the price at that time..
And I laughed, then responded "who's laughing now bitch?"
She went quiet and acted as though she was impressed but I could clearly see the jealousy.
Felt good. These egotistical and arrogant peasants need to be put in their place. But I do also agree it's better strategically to stay quiet and humble.

It's by far the easiest to say nothing. And when you finally buy a house with little to no debt and people ask how you did it, you just say that you saved in bitcoin. That's it.

1. It’s more potent when people feel they discovered it on their own. People don’t listen anyways.
2. Once I started making real gains from BTC, I regretted telling the few people that I did because they knew I was in early and most likely made/ still make assumptions that I’m crushing, which can shake up friend/family dynamics.
I learned a long time ago to keep my mouth shut. It's lose, lose. Let's say they buy on your advice and the price tanks. They'll hate you for it and probably sell in the low like a pussy. Then when the price rises again they'll hate you for having diamond hands when they just had coal hands. Let's say they don't listen to you and don't buy, they hate you for making them wrong. Let's say they buy and win, there's no benefit for you, and they probably won't know when to take a profit. This shit is dangerous and you need to be smart. To win you need to be opposite of the crowd. Sell when there's greed, buy when it's boring.
Always try to stay humble.
Gloating will only draw hate. Humans are smart. You don’t want an enemy human mind working against you. They will observe you until they can cause something to happen to screw up your life. Waste your time. Or at minimum, waste your time and money. You may never know it was them because they designed the action to go undetected.

The most interesting thing about this rise is how quiet it's been. Last time we were near this ATH grannies were talking to their uber drivers about bitcoin.
A lot of this is still institutions, and if they're getting in at these average and retail fomo hasn't even piled in yet, and the institutions are incentivized to run it beyond their average, that's incredibly bullish.
There are 8 billion people in the world and the estimate is 15 million not lost bitcoin. So each person’s share is 0.001875 btc. A share is going for around 135 bucks when I did the math yesterday. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Now I keep my mouth shut. When I look back I was just nerdy enough to research and understand bitcoin's advantages over many other investments. I didn't go all in (wish I had) but it was much riskier, now it's ALMOST mainstream. Who knew? I certainly didn't, I just liked the transparent, permissionless, and fair nature of it.
I think the fact that people can own it as part of a self managed investment portfolio is what will give it a boost for mainstream acceptance. Institutional amd ETF money influx, bodes well for the early adopters growth in monetary terms. It will take a while for the newer converts to go the E-wallet route though, myself included. It’s easy and relatively cheap (.5% fee on WealthSimple in my case) for individuals to give it a shot.
I invested 10k two weeks ago and decided to go with another 10k yesterday, so it’s 2% of my portfolio and meets my diversification goals.

I learned a long time ago to keep my mouth shut. It's lose, lose. Let's say they buy on your advice and the price tanks. They'll hate you for it and probably sell in the low like a pussy. Then when the price rises again they'll hate you for having diamond hands when they just had coal hands. Let's say they don't listen to you and don't buy, they hate you for making them wrong. Let's say they buy and win, there's no benefit for you, and they probably won't know when to take a profit. This shit is dangerous and you need to be smart. To win you need to be opposite of the crowd. Sell when there's greed, buy when it's boring.

Always try to stay humble. Gloating will only draw hate. Humans are smart. You don’t want an enemy human mind working against you. They will observe you until they can cause something to happen to screw up your life. Waste your time. Or at minimum, waste your time and money. You may never know it was them because they designed the action to go undetected.

You can advocate for Bitcoin, but don’t brag about your gains or about how you were right. This is the bull run and it’s easy to do that at the moment, but everyone will judge you harder during the bear market.

The most interesting thing about this rise is how quiet it's been. Last time we were near this ATH grannies were talking to their uber drivers about bitcoin. A lot of this is still institutions, and if they're getting in at these average and retail fomo hasn't even piled in yet, and the institutions are incentivized to run it beyond their average, that's incredibly bullish.

There are 8 billion people in the world and the estimate is 15 million not lost bitcoin. So each person’s share is 0.001875 btc. A share is going for around 135 bucks when I did the math yesterday. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Nah...always humble. Back in 2014 when I was evangelizing it to all my friends and family they thought I was either weird, printing counterfeit money, or trying to overthrow the government. Now I keep my mouth shut. When I look back I was just nerdy enough to research and understand bitcoin's advantages over many other investments. I didn't go all in (wish I had) but it was much riskier, now it's ALMOST mainstream. Who knew? I certainly didn't, I just liked the transparent, permissionless, and fair nature of it.

I think the fact that people can own it as part of a self managed investment portfolio is what will give it a boost for mainstream acceptance. Institutional amd ETF money influx, bodes well for the early adopters growth in monetary terms. It will take a while for the newer converts to go the E-wallet route though, myself included. It’s easy and relatively cheap (.5% fee on WealthSimple in my case) for individuals to give it a shot. I invested 10k two weeks ago and decided to go with another 10k yesterday, so it’s 2% of my portfolio and meets my diversification goals.
Saying I told you so in a purely speculative/unchartered market doesn't sound as cool as you think it does. I love crypto but at no point have I ever thought to tell someone that. Is it cool that it's doing it though, yes.
