Keyboard is way better if you can get used to it. Many people find controller easier at the beginning, so they stick with it. With keyboard you just have way less input delay and it's way more responsive.
Especially if you buy a high end keyboard like a wooting you can also put your actuation lower. Which makes the inputs way faster. On my wooting I have 0.3 mm actuation and it's peak .
I was actually the opposite, I started with keyboard but noticed immediate improvements when I switched to controller because I didn't need to contort my fingers on tight inputs. As an example, when I started I was a Hattori main, and back then hitstun was so much higher that sword dlight nsig was true. No matter how much I practiced I couldn't do it on keyboard, but it was easy on controller.
I see wym. Keyboard felt way more natural for me but, ik most players use controller instead of kb and I think both are good as long as you're more comfortable with it.
Kb mouse gives you a blatant disadvantage though.
I played on xbox for 2 years and switched to pc. I still use a controller, but a lot of combos that are "hard" are really easy for keyboard. Back when dlight Nair dair was true on gaunts, I easily got it true every time on keyboard but struggled on controller.
Also, I have a switch and computer.... so are there any keyboards for switch?? So it's been difficult trying to learn both without a controller that connects to my brawl.
Two input devices gives you different input delays which is really bad. There is currently no pro player who uses kb and mouse anymore. Stingray used to play with kb mouse but he switched to kb only.
all I'm saying is that the dual sense edge on digital joysticks (super sensitive; minimal input is interpreted as maximum input) works wonders for this game.
keyboard, i’ve always used controllers for anything excluding shooters, but bh just doesnt feel good to use on a controller in comparison to keyboard, just feels harder to learn too
I'd say controller.
It is way more accessible to people, I still cannot play any game on keyboard properly and certain competitive controllers can be set so that minimum input is registered as maximum really quickly making actions faster, for example dodging and dashing faster will be easier

I play on a gamepad but want to switch to a keyboard because I feel a delay that prevents me from completing combinations. Thanks for your comment!

I can't help you with that sadly since, I play on PC.
What about with mouse??
With mouse is by far the worst out of the three
Why's that??

keyboard its clearly supperior
it does not matter what you play on
Do you think there is a better device?
no, there are only devices that have noticable delay rest needs to be processed by CPU RQ GPU Monitor Etc.
For me, it does. I am so washed when I play without a controller.
I use a phone, I think that the swiping mechanics can be useful
I do love controller

there is no best answer, as long as it can inputs without delay and is comfortable for you to use it's the best option
keyboard, i’ve always used controllers for anything excluding shooters, but bh just doesnt feel good to use on a controller in comparison to keyboard, just feels harder to learn too
I've always been faster and better on keyboard, but I think skill and mastery just depends on the person
I use a dancing pad
I believe gamepad is better for this game it is just more comfortable but the input delay forced me to play on a keyboard
Wii
