3.9K followers and this is her criteria, don’t become sucker number 3,901

Patches1591

Aman

lkram489

report her on the app, block her on instagram, and learn this lesson - anytime they try to get you onto another app, it's for reasons like this. you're just another follower or sucker to her.

Yabamo

Blocked her on both platforms immediately!

SanguineGiant

Well, this is beyond trying to get him off the app. This isn't even a girl.

0neAnother

Woman. I HOPE it’s not a girl.

redditalini

Why is the request usually to connect on WhatsApp as compared to a regular phone call?

Hoochie_Daddy

Why would you want to give your personal phone number to someone you plan on scamming in the first place?

Hummusforever

WhatsApp is linked to ur phone number

redditalini

Is someone having your phone number alone enough to scam you? Or would there need to be a lot more?

TheSaintOf93

They'd need a lot more or for you to be an idiot and start clicking links they send and entering your bank details. I think people from the USA seem to have a big fear of WhatsApp compared to the rest of the world.

yemmeay

Because no one in the USA uses WhatsApp so it usually means it’s a scammer from another country

CoBr2

WhatsApp is THE international texting app. I never understood why, but anytime I lived/traveled abroad everyone outside of the U.S. used WhatsApp rather than normal texting.

openlander

SMS was expensive and neither RCS or iMessage held out until much later so people mostly stick to Whatsapp

redditalini

If the person is a scammer, is there any specific danger to them having your phone number or communicating with them on WhatsApp.? I often think I might be dealing with a scammer, but want to go far enough to find out for certain

CoBr2

I mean, they could sign your phone number up for stuff? But honestly the biggest threat I'm aware of is the old "you are not immune to propaganda" line. The pig butchers will do everything to convince you to trust them. That said, I've met legit people who messaged exclusively on WhatsApp, all internationals, but I've still had fun dates that way. I also travel abroad a lot and live in a city with tons of international transplants, so it's not unusual for me to run into someone who wants to use WhatsApp

0neAnother

If the person is a scammer, why interact at all? All suspected scammers should be ghosted ASAP. No questions no exceptions—-that’s quite literally how ppl get scammed is letting the scammer get Colin themselves…

AlteAmi

Yeah... WhatsApp is so good that it got bought by Meta. It's free, international, not limited in message size, does pictures, graphics, video and audio / voice messages. Everyone in the world uses it EXCEPT the USA. So, I think the USA are the odd-man-out here. Oh, yeah; It also treats all users the same, whether you are Android or Apple you are the same color.

CoBr2

I will say, I think normal messaging has caught up to WhatsApp, and also Signal/Telegram are regionally popular, but yeah, WhatdApp is pretty good and ridiculously popular

Space__Ninja

But I can’t use it in my iPad. :[

0neAnother

It’s commonly used outside of the US. It’s not odd to ask for WhatsApp outside of the US. But it IS inside of the US. Any app shifting is suspicious to me. You’re literally already on an app you both have! Next step, if any, is a phone number.

redditalini

Thanks. Brings me to my next question. Do you put yourself at any scam risk by giving out your phone number?

0neAnother

Yes, I do. That’s why I do not give my phone number out until AFTER I’ve met the person in real life, more than one time. Otherwise, we can communicate on the app. If he doesn’t respect that, that’s a red flag and I will not budge. Edit: as to why—-there’s too many reverse search things tied to phone numbers for scammers to get more info, so I DO try to protect my real #. Also, you can block numbers, but numbers are so easy to spoof, there’s no way to block it all if someone decided they wanted to harass you. So I think it’s dumb for many reasons to give your number out to a stranger you’ve never met IRL.

redditalini

Wow, not the response I expected. I thought you might laugh at me for being reticent to exchange phone numbers. The flip side of your approach though, is that I don't love the idea of getting together in person with someone I might not enjoy speaking with. I usually can tell pretty quickly on a phone call whether there is a chance of compatibility

0neAnother

There’s a way to talk by voice or video on most dating apps ;) I always talk first, often video before meeting.

redditalini

Thank you u/OneAnother!

Specific_Direction27

Bro you got issues. Just let people be and continue on

cinemadoll137

It’s a bot. The English is very off.

OBEY1995

It’s a low level virtual assistant from pakistan. I work in Ecom and some of these guys now work in OF, tinder, bumble management.

WithMillenialAbandon

A bot would have perfect English

oskopnir

Not sure about this specific case, but online scams often use imperfect grammar to filter out targets. If you think an offer or a business proposition is legit even though it's written very poorly, you're much more likely to be a successful target.

WithMillenialAbandon

So maybe they're telling the bot to write poorly... Didn't think of that

Bass_Warrior

I would report her immediately and block her afterwards.

[deleted]

Bumble is bullshit nowadays

Badluckwithlove

Who does she think she is? Kim kardashian? What a dumb egotistical broad

Primary_Pass

You're not wrong, and I understand the sentiment. But just knowing how fake Kim k is (physically and probably her personality) makes her so unappealing, even as eye "candy." This girl could've been a Rosario Dawson clone, and she would still get blocked before she had the chance to after this

Hummusforever

The dumb ones are the ones that think this is a woman or ‘broad’ as you do eloquently put it.

nerdinstincts

lol. Anytime someone sends you to another social, this is the reason.

Thelynxer

Seriously. If you're going to talk to eachother off the dating app, it had better be through a phone number. Social media links just mean they want followers and/or are selling something. Seeing people ask for insta and shit just makes me face palm.

missuneasy

Not necessarily. I usually ask for their IG handle first just to make sure that 1. They actually exist. 2. They are not some kind of creep. 3. To check if I find them interesting or not. IG displays a part of people's personality that is not easily detected via text or phone call.

Val_Hallen

This is why I report every account that says to contact them on another app. They are there for one thing only, and it's not dating. And if we match, I don't go to another app. We can chat on Bumble or they can give me their number.

appleidiefc

Wtf 🤣 Why would you report accounts for that? Are you paranoid? Every date I’ve been on in the last 2 years we have almost immediately moved to another app.

spamspamzoam

I'm with the other guy. No legitimate date ever came after they asked to communicate on another app

appleidiefc

Screw that. I’m not going on a date with someone without moving to WhatsApp and seeing their Social Media channels etc within a day or 2 of matching. It usually happens within an hour or so.

SomeoneRandom007

Supposing this was real- would you want a girl like that?

Only-Analysis9349

What a hoebag

Used-Expert-6852

All dating apps are scams nowadays

jacuzaTiddlywinks

Good. You dodged a bullet

NightmareNaruto

It’s a no for me. Not worth it bro.

BugAble9435

What is she a prostitute?

TTIsurvivors

Lmao what country is this?

Zestyclose_Exam_906

I mean if that’s the way she was texting how did it even get to the point of y’all swapping ids. I’d just unmatch because of the sheer cringe and narcissistic way she texts.

rocknevermelts

So essentially an OnlyFans situation. Report.

Vanessa-Powers

Socials in bio means she wants clout.

AAKurtz

It means it's a dude in India trying to scam you.

StrawHatShadow

Women expecting to be pampered are pathetic and disgusting. Hope people get in their own head that they are special out of 8 billion is beyond me 😂

Majestq

Where are some of you guys getting that she had her "socials in her bio?" OP clearly said "she asked" him to message her on Instagram.

[deleted]

Women regularly have their Instagram or Snapchat profiles in their bios. Even if we matched and we talk on Bumble, sometimes women will tell me to message them on Instagram

FartyBoomBoom

You sure showed her!!!

Aggravating_Nail_995

ok princess 🤭🤭

ryans25

Reply eat shit and die 💀

BigDigGian

Entitlement issue You dodged a major red flag. Congrats Celebrate your life, because trust me she would have made your life hell with expectations and criticisms

Trash_Panda_1983

This will be a stolen account. The start of a sextortion scam. They will want nudes soon.

Boring-Special-6357

Even if it wasn’t a bot, women do this all the time because they have so many options. It’s fishing. Women like to use passive aggressive comments to get attention. Not all women. Look for the ones that don’t behave like children.

GlobeHopMedia

this is so obviously a bot troll, its hilarious 😂

[deleted]

What are you sad about exactly? She's likely a scammer. the way she talks screams foreign scammer. Even with the Instagram.. at the very least she's a gold digger. You dodged a major bullet. Nothing to be sad about. Honestly. Be thankful you saw this from the start. So many matches out there waiting for you. Chin up brother

DangerDork88

The “message me on insta” is always a scam Brody. Don’t sweat it. You live, you learn.

edstheman91

At this point, anytime I see a girl put their IG name on their profile. I assume they use online dating apps to grow their IG following.

Guilty_Cabinet2516

Dude no this is a narcissist. More specifically an overt narcissist block her and report!

nosferatu1806

Send her those emojis x 10 n make her a happy woman!

suran88

Do you need a self centered person like this ? Most possible a narcissist Do you need a narcissist?

gznakiboneka

![gif](giphy|twpYnBnUobHRm) Sounds like you dodged a bullet

Dry-Difficulty-8843

Either a bot or a scammer. One things for sure, it's not a woman

Musibat24-7

It’s ok she filtered her self out. You’ll find better.

UKMaverick7

GTFOH with your online begging 🙄🙄

LuciferGarg

You can always report Onlyfan material!

alteregolife

The moment I see any women mention Pamper or Spoil I unmatch. Its the female version of "The ICK". Its more like YUCK for me.

78745alex

Pamper and spoil sounds like she's a SW. You dodged a bullet. Congrats

MaxFlare

Get on the simp train. ![gif](giphy|NGSbD5vI6lUvC|downsized)

codeinecrim

lesson learned playboy. if she got her socials in the bio, biggest hoe by a mile

cinemadoll137

Right? It’s so gross when men do that. I swipe left every time

Loveallthesunsets

I got the same message 💔. Really thought this was the one.

EmptyMixtape

Pamper and spoil - instant unfollow

Upside_down69

Chips waali spotted

sammysweetcheeks_

Ew

murielsweb

Smart woman. Although you don’t need to tell the guys, just remove the follower.

thecreambiscuit

What’s with the emojis ?

monochrome_2020

Always treat accounts that ask you to message them on instagram with skepticism. Which is a lot of them, it seems.

Excellent-Tension541

Narcissist alert! 😅

kittenwithu

Maybe she’d feel better about herself if she was educated. lol

SuperRPParty

Yeah if someone immediately asks to go to another app to talk, this is the sort of shit I expect

Codeineplz

bullet dodged

Technical_Strike8452

A bullet must pass within the general vicinity for a dodging reaction to occur 🤣

Codeineplz

ok

Specific_Direction27

Reading the comments I’ve found that your guys are some to the softest emotional men in America

Ambitious_Smell_7258

![gif](giphy|ieOu5fIcL1npeuUli9|downsized)

Creative_Climate8970

Lol

LalalaHurray

This person is not a member of the dating pool.

Task-Future

Where is she from?
