beav is coug is coug is beav always love forever

suddenly-scrooge

cougs have beavs and in the end that's all that matters

southcentralLAguy

I’m Zach Wilson and I approve this message

Imnothighyourhigh

I wanna upvote but I can't interrupt the natural 69 I stumble upon

roguebananah

We state schools are always treated like lesser colleges (beyond a select few) let alone our football teams and we should stick together I can’t imagine what you both are going through and wishing somehow and in someway, you come out stronger from this

EvolutionCreek

My two favorite Pac-12 teams after my own. I'm pouring out a Fireball tonight and whatever it is Beavers drink. (Block 15?) I got to see the Beavers in Portland last year and the Popcorn Guy game is one of my favorites of all time (though probably not the favorite of Coug fans).

tgo26

Popcorn guy perfectly described that (Paul Wulff) era of football for us. Annoyed, apathetic; but mostly depressed and still watching.

StoicAscent

Same, I love the Cougar-Beaver bromance, and OSU and WSU were like the only two PAC-12 teams besides Stanford that I would enthusiastically root for when we weren't in contention for the conference title. Breaks my goddamn heart to see how they've been treated in all this. It's a travesty that so much great tradition is getting trashed by this conference ~~realignment~~ consolidation, and brushing aside OSU and WSU like they're nothing may be one of the greatest insults to all that was good about college football.

BlackshirtDefense

OSU drink? Probably a gosh-darn Mike Riley milkshake. Nothing but love and respect for OSU and their future, but, yeah.... that man should not be allowed to coach football teams.

elonsusk69420

If y’all join the SEC we can finally get the Cocks Beavs matchup we all deserve. I’ve followed WSU since the first time I saw a rambling Mike Leach presser.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mrroney13

They've been trying to push us both out for a hot minute. If the SEC were to collapse I fear for us.

CountBleckwantedlove

I said it in another thread, but Wazzu vs. Mizzou should be a thing. Annual matchup. The Zzukeeper Bowl Winner gets to "keep" the Mizzou or Wazzu nickname the rest of the season. Loser has to go by Missouri or Washington State the rest of the season.

Cyberhwk

WSU/OSU fans have always definitely had a kinship. Almost as if it were fate we ended up with our ass in the jackpot together. Kind of poetic really.

Drfilthymcnasty

Everybody shut up and listen to this man! He is speaking the language of the gods.

PantalonesDeTortuga

Hey mods, can we get a “Forgotten 4” flair for us leftovers?

markusalkemus66

Stanford and Cal are flirting with the ACC. They're not forgotten. We are. The Desperate Duo

recurrenTopology

If we make that move, and I'm pretty dubious we will, I certainly hope you and OSU are brought along for the ride, might as well go ahead and throw in SD State as well. Just two West Coast teams in an otherwise East Coast conference is asinine, 5 West Coast teams is marginally workable.

Carl_MacLaren

I’d be 100% into this. I’ll feel for your student athletes having to make that cross country trip. If the ACC wants to compete as a P4 and try to keep FSU and Miami, they should add 5 of us and have a west coast pod for the ACC where we can all still play each other. Btw I’ll never forget 60-59. Fuck you guys lol

thatattyguy

Ahaha Connor fucking Halliday. As a Cal fan, yes, we won, but I would rather have the years I lost off my life back. Will never understand how they didn't review that run on 1st down at the end, madness.

kahyuen

I mean we may not be forgotten, but every thread I've looked at has been calling us worthless anyway. So it's still not a great feeling.

markusalkemus66

"You are without a doubt the most worthless expansion candidate I've ever heard of" "Ah, but you have heard of me" There's no one asking for us or OSU

nomadwrangler

I noticed the lack of love for Cal, and well it is odd. I like Cal so not sure why this is happening. Hell OSU and Cal are the most visited away games I have gone too. Maybe this is my fault?

[deleted]

Go Cougs! And yeah this sub has been pretty understanding and upset on our behalf, it has been nice to see.

[deleted]

The Cougs and Beavs are my new fav teams after my first two

FigletPiglet

So you just cheer for the entire PAC

[deleted]

What can I say, I'm a homer

Queasy-Touch-1533

Maybe this is the next stage of grief, but I’m kind of pumped about starting some new rivalries in a new conference. Edit: considering our existing conference desperately didn’t want us around for reasons that I will never fully understand.

Carl_MacLaren

Wherever we go, so long as we go together!

Seahawkanon

Together forever and never to part Together forever we two And don't you know I would move Heaven and Earth To be together forever with you

TopRevenue2

Would rather Oregon have been paired with either or both of you than the fuskies

pardonmyignerance

It would've been awesome if the B1G just took 8 while the Big 12 took the remaining teams. Would've made more sense in terms of travel to stack more west coast teams, but I guess B1G presidents are just scared of how awesome it would've been.

LeadVitamin13

Ironically why you hate them is why you're paired with them.

nightowl1135

Yep. I knew since the very beginning of all of this, Oregon and Washington's fates were tied together.

Hopsblues

CSu/Cougs rivalry, part2 in a couple weeks.

StoicFable

Thats the thing that irks me the most about this. Which school threw us under the bus and why. We need names.

sunthas

puppet masters somewhere

mikeydean03

The Oregon President was all giddy in his Saturday morning spot on Portland’s news. All he talked about was the great opportunity it was. He didn’t give one shit that their decision just wrecked another school in the state.

nomadwrangler

This is starting to sink in to me to. We could potentially be in a conference with programs that actually want us there! New places to go to games too, new silly things to get annoyed about etc. New upsets to be handed and strive to deliver. Nothing against current conference mates but often felt incredibly unwanted, and turns out...we were.

r0botdevil

One of the two of us has to win the conference this year as a final "fuck you" to everyone else for leaving.

Tiki-Jedi

Ya know, other Duck fans will flame me for this, but I’d be fucking delighted if we saw the Beavs run the table this year and make the playoffs. What a great “Fuck you” to all the douchebag suits who just ruined west coast football for everyone but their accountants.

66stang351

while i'd be okay with this outcome, lets remember who the real enemies are eh?

[deleted]

USC?

HamHusky06

Fuck it, as a Dawg… I want the beavers to win EVERYTHING. Big Jonathan Smith fan. He’s awesome.

wyoish

If it does happen... Welcome to the Mo West!!

Carl_MacLaren

You guys have been so awesome man. Every MWC football fan has seemed thrilled to have us! We'd be thrilled to compete against you guys too, I think it'll be fun. And if you see any hesitancy from Coug fans, just know that we don't think we're too good for the MWC or any BS like that. We're mostly just worried about our athletic department's finances and how it's going to affect the town of Pullman and whatnot. That's the whole scary part for us.

wyoish

Yah I understand! We would welcome anyone ....except BYU. HaHa!

Queasy-Touch-1533

I honestly can’t wait to come to Laramie for a game.

A_Drunk_Caribou

Honestly, I don't know why a conference wouldn't want to have you guys, or OSU. The campuses seem really nice, and I have always been excited watching you guys because even in the years you make New Mexico look good, somehow you still have the ability to make some wizardy shit happen and beat a team that's in competition for a conference title. I don't understand it, but man it'd fun to watch lol. I'd gladly except you guys and OSU into the MW. Laramie is more fun then you realize :)

tyreeks_son

Go Cougs!

philkid3

Go Beavs!

NeedsToShutUp

Go Cougs and Beavs!

avboden

Fuck the Ducks, fuck the Huskies!

BorderlineAlbino

My hope is that college football fans everywhere tune in to watch the Cougs and Beavs this season. It’s the only conduit we have to show the networks we belong.

Bvrcntry_duckhnt

Only problem is pac12 network :/

BorderlineAlbino

Yes that’s a huge problem. Anything on ESPN or FOX need to have large viewership.

DaddyRobotPNW

Oregon State @ San Jose State Sunday, 9/3 on primetime CBS. No other college or pro games to compete with.

StoicFable

Even if we're number 1 in the pac we will be stuck on that fucking network just to fuck us even harder.

DaddyRobotPNW

Oregon State @ Washington State on 9/23. Let's get that shit over 4 million viewers

BaltimoreBadger23

This sucks for you guys. Your boys walked into Camp Randall last fall and didn't give a fuck what anyone thought. While I hope we take massive revenge during our visit to Pullman in only a handful of weeks, you guys belong. You've always belonged and it sucks that you may be left behind. While I'm not sure the BiG10 is the right spot for you (and it's not the right spot for your Apple rivals, but here we are), the Big12 sure would be. May the Wazzu Flag continue to fly high every week.

CPtheCoug

Classy comment, I like you! *Spits in your face*

Carl_MacLaren

Appreciate you Badger bro. Looking forward to our matchup in a few weeks. I'll be there supporting my Cougs to make one more run at this PAC12 thing. Beat the ever loving shit out of Oregon, UW, USC, and UCLA for us in the coming years. I'll be rooting for you guys in the B1G.

BaltimoreBadger23

UCLA we have some practice with over the last few decades. Oregon has been a challenge for us! I don't think we've played USC in 40 some years and Washington in about 30.

pumodood

Badgers beat USC in Holiday Bowl

Carl_MacLaren

UW is tough, but it's probably a mental thing for us more than anything. Oregon is always loaded and are tough. USC same thing. You guys play that old school smash mouth style of football though. Go out and punch 'em in the mouth and make sure they never even sniff that B1G Championship game.

Thirsty-Octopus

I hope we stop taking the flag to gameday. I don’t care to placate to a network that left us in the dust just to be an occasional feel good promo.

RoverTiger

I'm with you, dude. Here's to all of this working out for you guys in the end somehow.

Carl_MacLaren

Much appreciated man

Sac_Kangz

This! Last Friday was horrific. At least we have another fantastic fan base that we can commiserate with. And even former PAC 12 foes have been very gracious. None of us 12 wanted this.

kuan_51

None of us 10* USC and UCLA wanted this Edit: and michael crow

espo619

Our boosters and admins did. Anecdotally most of us regular fans/alumni did not.

toomuchdiponurchip

Nobody did except USCLA

nevetando

The real kick in the nuts is both WSU and OSU absolutely deserve to be associated with a major conference. We really aren't awful programs that are just riding coattails... Our only crime is being small market college towns. We both play good ball in most years. We both have exciting offenses and crazy games. Hell the OSU-WSU match ups of the last few years themselves have been can't miss TV. We both have toppled the big boys. We personally have taken down USC when they were both #1 and #3 ranked. OSU and WSU have both have storied and exceptional Pac-12 after dark outings and all time classics. Put us in any conference and both these teams are going to be just as exciting, or hell even more exciting than some of the programs that found immediate homes. I would say every game OSU played last year save maybe one or two was can't miss football in terms of just watching an overall quality game. It sucks this is what football has devolved too. Nobody cares how good of team WSU and OSU are. not even a little bit. They care about the TV market they sit in. that is it. the only metric in this algorithm.

sc2mashimaro

Don't forget that they are also leaving behind the "student" part of "student athletics" too. I know it's always been secondary to the athletic programs, but it isn't even a factor now. One of the reasons the conferences have been grouped by region is to reduce travel time and jet lag so that the student athletes could continue to be, you know, successful students, in case that NFL dream doesn't quite pan out.

mikeydean03

They also seem to think the only athletes they have are football and basketball players. Most of the sports that have meets and tournaments will figure something out, but the others will struggle. Plus, it’s fun having home games/meets in front of your fans. I can’t see how that works within 5 years.

toomuchdiponurchip

I know you might not want to hear this from me cause of who I support but this is truly sad as fuck and college football won’t ever feel the same as facing you guys in the last week of the regular season for the Apple Cup :(. Or any of the other Pac 12 rivals in a crazy Pac-12 after dark game. Makes me really sad that 100 years of tradition is wiped out by greed and incompetence from leadership. I really wish we could’ve taken you guys with us instead of those rich assholes from Eugene

Carl_MacLaren

I appreciate it man. Honestly you guys have been real cool through this. I’ll always hate you guys for obvious reasons lol but I respect you guys as fans for having our back here. Apple Cup was always a mini holiday for a lot of us, even if we always kinda expected the outcome. But because of that it always meant more on the years we beat you guys. Like little brother getting one over on big brother. 1997 was such a memorable year because we had to beat you guys to get back to the Rose Bowl. But all those things, that history, is gone. The Apple Cup is likely done after ‘23, and the Rose Bowl is irrelevant for us. Respect the shit outta you Husky fans who’ve come out lamenting us being left behind. It’ll always be appreciated, especially because of who you support.

BlackSnowMarine

Piggybacking off of the fellow Husky fan, I wish we brought you guys along instead of Oregon too. Fuck business and "logistics", the Big 10 exposure would've brought a lot to Pullman. There's a lot of UW fans who do sympathize with you guys because it *is* a bullshit situation. Hope there's good news in the coming weeks. WSU and Oregon State to the Big 10 or 12? 🤞

Carl_MacLaren

Would be an end to this nightmare to get an invite from either. To join you guys in the B1G would be ideal but I know that won’t happen, at least anytime soon. And I appreciate you man. I know we always have (and in many ways will) hate each other on the field, but it’s cool to see you guys being supportive when the shit gets real. Pullman could be in a lot of trouble with this whole thing and it goes beyond football. You guys seem to recognize that and it’s appreciated. Thanks man.

CappinPeanut

I feel ya, this isn’t a fan problem, this is a corporate problem. I went golfing a couple days ago with my buddy’s dad. He played football for Oregon in the 70s. He was shook about this whole thing, like full on upset over it. He cares about tradition, he cares about the student athletes, and he cares about his school, and he is pissed off over what happened. I almost felt worse for him than I did for myself (Also a former student athlete at OSU). The people who were a part of college football before it became a business care about tradition a lot, and I’m right there with them. The new business model kicks tradition to the curb so they can get their bag of cash. A conference that survived two world wars ultimately couldn’t survive good ol American greed.

toomuchdiponurchip

Yeah it really sucks for a lot of the college athletes especially the ones who don’t play the big revenue sports

AdventurerPNW

I feel the pain. The uncertainty sucks, but I’ve also seen tons of support for Wazzu and OSU on here. I’m not optimistic about where we ultimately end up, but who knows? Go Cougs!

Carl_MacLaren

Go Cougs! And I'm feeling like the MWC is most likely. Matchups would be fun, and if we can recruit from the same pool of players we do now with roughly the same success, we'll do well. The only concern with going G5 is the money. Athletics is in a huge hole and there's likely to be cuts. People losing their jobs, businesses in Pullman will be impacted. That part is my concern right now.

AdventurerPNW

I worry about our leadership specifically with the money issues - AD Pat Chun, Coach Dickert, etc. Coaches in the MWC don’t make anywhere close to what Dickert does. The pool for assistants shrinks significantly as well. Aside from the existing budget issues, Chun has been remarkable at hitting home runs with hires. It was only a matter of time before he took a bigger job to begin with. We’ll see how long we can keep these guys. It’ll be tough.

pepperonisticksplz

beavs 🤝 cougs

DUB-Files

I just want to know where the hell we are going to land. Tbh, all this has made me not excited to watch this season outside of Wisconsin but at least knowing what's to come would be nice.

definitelynotasalmon

Watch every game. More than ever, the fans need to double down and continue to show our ratings are worth something. It’s the only thing we can do.

DUB-Files

I get what you're saying, but if our ratings aren't good enough now then idk how this year will change any minds. The Big12 isn't walking through that door.

Carl_MacLaren

We will never be good enough in the eyes of the college football overlords. But we need to not have a drop off just because they decided they didn’t want us. They’ll use that as their proof they were right about us. Fuck that. Let’s show up and show out.

Carl_MacLaren

Yeah I feel you there. I've said this whole season kind of feels like we're walking the plank (to use a pirate expression for our guy Leach) and there's this inevitable misery on the other side. I'm excited to be in the MWC, that will be cool if that happens, but damn it's going to be rough going back to Pullman for Cougar Football Saturdays if the town suffers from the athletic dept shrinking with the loss of revenue from the PAC12.

TheGlassRemains

On the upside, maybe I won't be paying over $300 a night to stay in a mediocre hotel.

simplysigzz

Thanks for the love y’all. I’m excited that we will be playing some new teams, wherever we do end up. But if I may be so bold, one quick request to everyone here who has offered us kind words: if you ever find yourself out near the Palouse for any reason, please stop by Pullman and spend a few bucks to support our local businesses. Grab a pint at Rico’s (which dates back to 1909!), peruse the shelves at Brused Books, grab a plate of breakfast at The Old European, enjoy a cup of coffee at Zoe’s, etc. Cougs will get through this transition no matter what it looks like, but I’m more worried about the local businesses in Pullman. We have a wonderful community who has supported student, alumni, faculty, and more and your support matters. ❤️ Go Cougs!

Carl_MacLaren

This 1,000,000%. With all this uncertainty it's the community I worry about. Football will continue in a new conference and will still be Cougar football, but the small businesses in Pullman are what will be hurt by all this. I fucking miss Rico's. I will rack up a $100 bar tab there with whatever reddit Cougs see this and want to join me on the Saturday of the Wisconsin game. DM me and we'll drink the pain away.

simplysigzz

Same, I know Rico’s wasn’t the wildest place in Pullman but I loved to just go there on a Friday or Saturday night, get buzzed and listen to the music faculty play live music for hours on end.

Muffinnnnnnn

It's a BIT of a drive for me but I'll definitely check it out if I get out there someday haha. Still never been west of Colorado.

Carl_MacLaren

It’s the quintessential college town. Ironically enough Florida State is the one other stadium I’ve been to for CFB (2014 v. Clemson), hell of a game and a crazy environment. Have always had a fondness for FSU after that

YoseppiTheGrey

Grew up a Coug fan and then went to UW. I love both honestly and this whole situation breaks my heart

Norillim

Same here. Apple Cup is my favorite game of the year.

BlameMabel

Went to the New Mexico bowl about 10 years ago as an uninterested party. Sat surrounded by WSU fans and they were great. W-A-S-H-I-N-G-T-O-N-S-T-A-T-E Go Cougs! They completely Coug’d the game and won a place in my heart.

xPineappless

Go Cougs… Pissed that you guys are being left behind when you guys have clearly shown more interest in being in our conference than others. Mike Leach’ second home, we don’t forget!

Carl_MacLaren

Would have loved a Big12 invite! Feels like we would've fit in well with the schools there. And I feel we would've been pretty competitive in football still, but it is what it is. The fans are still what makes all of this work, so thanks man for having our back!

Carl_MacLaren

Thanks Husky bro. Btw if we win the Apple Cup this year, we’re keeping the trophy forever, remember that lol

erob25

I support you couger

66stang351

y'all will always be alright by me. go cougs

Wumdee

Cougs vs Everybody 🙌

mtdemlein

Oregon State, i will always remember when you beat us in the Sun Bowl THAT HAD A HALFTIME SHOW STARRING RIHANNA

Thirsty-Octopus

God fucking damn it. I am sad

ChrisAplin

Always been supportive of coug teams when not versus the pups. So many great pac teams, meaningful games, meaningful players. Upsets, scares, and even some contenders across multiple sports. Pullman is great and while Seattle was the big city, WSU always recruited so many hidden gems around the PNW that proved their top level talent over and over. It’s a travesty that a major state school is treated like some second class citizen because of tv deals who only look at metro size.

dawglaw09

As a UW fan who generally rooted for the coogs outside of the Apple Cup, I am super bummed for you guys. I wish there was a way for you and the beavs to come with us to the B1G.

jthanson

One of the biggest reasons I love college football is the regionalism and the rivalries. As a UW fan, it was always very meaningful to be the best team on the West Coast. Beating teams like Oregon, USC, or Stanford was always very meaningful because those were the schools that produced so many of our friends and neighbors. I love that for a week in November every year our state was divided by its Purple or Crimson loyalties. People with whom I would be the best of friends for years would become enemies for that week which would all be resolved on a Saturday (or sometimes Friday) somewhere in our beautiful state. Better yet, both UW and Wazzu represented different parts of our vibrant and diverse state. UW is one of the world's leading research universities and keeps our state on the forefront of technology. Without UW there's no Boeing or Microsoft. Wazzu is one of the nation's finest agricultural schools and keeps our state on the forefront of food production, animal science, communications, and dozens of other fields. Without Wazzu there's no Puyallup valley strawberries, Yakima valley hops, Walla Walla wineries, Cougar Gold Cheese, or numerous other advancements. Each university represents a different and important part of our state. From misty Elma and timber-clad Morton to the waving wheatfields of the Palouse and the rugged mountains of the northeast corner of the state, each university stands for something great, vital, and cherished. UW and Wazzu are both the ambassadors of our fine state and it breaks my heart to see Wazzu left out of what's going on. Money, and even more, a rush to place importance on national competitiveness over regional competitiveness, has killed what was once a proud and valued tradition. My heard breaks for you, Coug fans. You deserve better. Even as a die-hard Husky fan, I have enjoyed many hours driving across Eastern Washington listening to Bob Robertson call Cougar games from far off locales. No school had a better broadcaster and there was no better experience than hearing Robertson call a game while driving through Moses Lake on a golden September Saturday afternoon. As a die-hard Husky, I'll say this: Go Cougs.

[deleted]

Fuck em all. Go Cougs!

ohnoohnoohyeah

Go Cougs!

openedthedoor

Here's what happens. Wazzu beats 18th ranked Wisconsin at home week2 and the ABC game pulls 4m viewers. BY has a change of heart. Stanford/Cal go to B10. Wazzu/OSU go to the B12 and bring a nice little gift of the pac12n with them (maybe take a smaller rev share too).

Carl_MacLaren

I 100% support this. If it meant we had to take little to no conference share for a couple years I’d be for it simply for what the guarantee of being in said conference, and therefore future shares, would mean for the community of Pullman.

tres1208

As a Memphis fan, I empathize because it feels like we aren’t ever getting bumped up.

Barrrrrrnd

Seconded. This wee has been balls but y'all have kept the little fire burning.

Ye_prophet

I became a fan when a family member joined the football coaching staff during the Mike Leach era (family member has since moved to another school) and at this point I don't care about any other team as much as I care about WSU. I'm truly sad by everything happening to this program and to this fan base. Forever GO Cougs

fauxromanou

beavers 🤝 cocks I was in vrchat last week and met a beavs fan and we commiserated over how messed up realignment has been. Not even sure how cfb came up, it was completely organic.

CrownedCarlton

Love you Coug bro. Whatever happens I hope we stick together.

Carl_MacLaren

Love you too Beaver bro. We’re all we got, we’re all we need!

EyesOnEverything

Shit sucks. I fully checked out after whatever joke the 2020 season was trying to tell, but I always thought the conference and its rivalries would make it. All that shared history down the drain, and good programs left in the dust in pursuit of the almighty dollar. Breaks my heart watching Beavs and Cougs get left behind, and it sucks that we're now part of a conference I've never cared about.

Stillllo

I know Wazzu and OSU isn’t stoked about it - but I truly hope to be in the same conference as y’all. Both schools seem like they have such solid and down people. That being said you both deserve so much better than the hands you were dealt in this realignment circus

MasChingonNoHay

Yes…Fuck all of those asshole execs that messed up college football. As an Aztec alum that really wanted to finally move up to a P5 conference but looks like we never will now, I’m sad more than anything that the Pac12 conference has collapsed. Fuck all of those assholes

philkid3

I agree with all of this. The support I’ve felt from so many fans on the Have side of the spectrum had meant a lot. Especially the UW flairs. I have felt my hate for UW fans completely crumbling away the past few days because of their reasonable and empathetic takes. This sucks. But at least this sub makes me think I’m not alone in thinking it sucks.

shot-by-ford

> Especially the UW flairs. I have felt my hate for UW fans completely crumbling away the past few days because of their reasonable and empathetic takes. That's the saddest part of this whole sad mess

toomuchdiponurchip

Man I’ve genuinely been super upset at the thought of there never being another Apple Cup tbh. This fucking sucks man :( I’d happily never play Oregon again if it meant we got the Apple Cup during the last week of the season again. This just isn’t right

philkid3

There’s something going on with Iowa State fans though. It feels like every rude, unhinged, or crass post has Iowa State flair. I didn’t know that was a thing with them.

[deleted]

Carl_MacLaren

Appreciate you man thanks! We got love for the fans. But your admins can go fuck off. They had to know how powerful a brand they are and what leaving would do to the conference. That being said it’s obviously not you guys who wanted them to do that and I feel we’re all pissed at the loss of our conference.

digital_russ

Go Cougs

pirana6

Go Cougs

Smartman971

I will never say that. But I do support you wazzu!

Carl_MacLaren

I wouldn’t expect anything different. Appreciate you.

Zuldak

Let's go start our own conference. With blackjack and hookers. Hope the NLF makes good on its threat and starts scheduling games on Saturdays to eat what is now a minor league

Xmalantix

This whole thing blows. I didn't watch hardly any college football before I got to WSU, but once I went to my first game I was devoted. Now, I'm sinking back to a level of complete apathy. I really have no interest in participating in this soulless greed-driven game anymore. They've stripped away everything meaningful about the sport and it's succumbing to the disease of more.

EuronymousIsTrveKvlt

A Wazzu OSU conference championship game would be sick. Go Cougs

PRMan99

Wish the very best for you and the Beavs. Wazzu especially doesn't deserve what has happened to them.

e1337ist

Go Cougs 😭 This whole series of events is really upsetting

tmartin2250

Duck fan here to say college football is not the same anymore and I’m extremely disappointed by this nonsense. I will forever #backthepac

theythinkImcommunist

If there's any decency in the hearts of ADs, they should be scheduling a home and home with OSU and WSU for as long as they are left out. Fill up their schedules with meaningful games. Gators vs Cougars and Beavers. I'm all for it. In the meantime, I'll be pulling for you guys every week.

shhhiamatWork

Go Cougs! Will miss our battles with you all. You guys were fun

Carl_MacLaren

Same! Thanks for the gameday fun in ‘18. I’ll miss playing in Autzen and all the battles with you guys.

Road-Conscious

Go Cougs and Go Beavs!

ManlyFishsBrother

Go Cougs. You deserve better; y'all gave us our name. GO COOGS! YA WOO!

hydro_wonk

Go Cougs.

MSUCommitsFratricide

Man, we all feel for you and the conference in general. This sucks. I think all of us (or at least a lot of us) can picture ourselves in that situation and the very idea of it hurts like hell. The WSU flag at every game day is tradition and we live tradition over here. Know that all of the CFB is rooting so hard for one of the four remaining PAC teams to win it all this year. Minus the aligned and moving teams I guess. Hope you all crush it this year.

gritman54

I feel for all of the WSU and OSU fans. It felt like the sky was falling when the Big East collapsed and Cincy was left in the AAC. I’m confident that WSU and OSU will find their way back to a power conference, whether that be soon or a decade from now. Success is always exciting, but when you feel defeated now like us Bearcats fans felt, it makes any sliver of success so damn special. I’ll be rooting for the Cougs and the Beavs.

Squares9718

Fuck this shit, bring back regionality. Go Cougs

Carl_MacLaren

Appreciate it Michigan bro. FWIW I always root for you guys against Ohio St. No particular reason except I dig your guys’ colors and helmets lol

Reasons2Rage

I’d love the Cougs and Beavs in the XII idk why they’re so shit on but they’re fun teams and belong in the most fun conference

barkbarkmothertrucke

Our brothers from another conference. WE LOVE YOU

DaddyRobotPNW

I'm wondering if OSU and WSU can keep a bunch of basketball money. Every game played in March Madness yields about $2M to the conference, and that money is stretched over 6 years. If everybody else leaves first, I think that money stays with OSU and WSU. * In 2021, the conference earned 19 units, and I think there will be 3 years left for a total of $19M. * In 2022, the conference earned 7 units, and I think there will be 4 years left for a total of $9.3M. * In 2023, the conference earned 7 units, and I think there will be 5 years left for a total of $11.6M. * Hopefully, we can get like 5 teams in the tourney this year and a couple of deep runs. Could be an extra $15M-$20M to be shared by the two schools over the next 6 years. So OSU and WSU could share between $11M and $15M per year for 3 years after this season, and then it starts to decrease. Obviously doesn't make up for the media money, but that could help keep some sports from getting cut.

Another_Name_Today

Just read the WSJ article on GK. Am curious to know how much it was USC squashing the PAC-20 versus a full conference decision. I certainly buy that they would have had outsized influence at the time. Going down that path would have sucked for us (I doubt the B1G looks at us as part of a matching move), but made things interesting for y’all.

ExUpstairsCaptain

Screw it. The “integrity” of the Big Ten is out the window. Come on over!

[deleted]

I wish the best for the Cougs. Fuck all them suits!

aray5989

WSU and OSU are some of my favorite programs. They have almost no in-built advantages but manage to get great coaches and claw out results. Their fans are some of the most pure in FBS. The WSU flag is still such a cool tradition even if GameDay isn't as good anymore, it was out of pure love for your program

As a UW alum* will start with an obligatory fuck you. But second I will say what is happening is a fucking disgrace and terrible for college football. Great rivalry being ruined here and I am sad for what the future of CFB holds

Carl_MacLaren

Obligatory fuck you right back. And second I couldn’t agree more. My biggest fear is that my hatred for UW or yours for WSU slowly turns to apathy and we just don’t care anymore. Until then I’ll teach my children to hate your school and I expect the same from you

GroverFC

But by the Grace of God go I. 2 years ago it couldve been the Cats joining the Mountain West. Hell before Bill Snyder we almost got kicked out of the Big 8. Theres a whole gang of us that are just a gold fountain pen stroke away from being left on the curb. Go Cougs, Go Beavs!!

Budget_Sort7961

Go Cougs

[deleted]

Wazzu and Oregon State deserved so much better. I hope wherever you guys go, we will be there alongside!

Rickbox

Given that I have an emotional connection to the Pac-12 and I'm not the one making the hundreds of millions on the media rights contracts; ya, I'm pretty vested in tradition and regionalism.

christhetwin

Hear, hear!

NoStutterd

GO FUCKING COUGS!!

StoicFable

As a beaver I say we help lead the charge for G5s and make our own league. Work with what media we can, get our own play offs (with or without the blackjack and hookers). The gap is growing more and more. The little guys need to band together. And eventually, if the conspiracies are correct and the media just wants the top tier teams for their own league, we have a home established for everyone else who also ends up falling by the way side.

Carl_MacLaren

FWIW I vote for the version with blackjack and hookers. But I 100% agree in 10 years there will be a league of 20-30 teams that includes the Michigan's, Ohio State's, Bama's, Georgia's, and those teams. The rest of us will go back to regular NCAA football with regional divisions/conferences....hopefully.

jurgenlarsson

keep rocking make it impossible to ignore

ImNotTheBossOfYou

Ya Woo, Cougar Football!

Hefty-Revenue5547

Will always be a core memory watching y’all come to Tempe and whoop our ass The Leach years were always so frustrating to watch, but man those passing patterns were easy to watch when executed well Hopefully we schedule an OOC soon

graffiksguru

Go Cougs! And Beavs!

sc2mashimaro

Go Cougs! (and Go Beavs!)

GhostDosa

It is definitely massively unfortunate what is going on in college football at least past realignments have allowed new teams to join the power 5 family in Utah and TCU for example. This is the first one to contract that family. Immensely sad.

f0gax

Go Cougs.

kokell

Go cougs

JackIbach

Can’t imagine going from $22M in PAC12 2024 TV revenue to $4M in MWC 2025 TV revenue👎

dubvtb3

If it was up to me I’d take WSU and OSU into the big 12, you guys just get it. On another note: NO MERCY ON EVERYONE THIS YEAR

Yeastyboy104

> They can eat a bag of dicks. Are we talking various shapes, sizes, and skin tones? One at a time? Will they be served cooked or raw? Buffet-style? Grab ‘em and chew ‘em like potato chips by the handful? How many dicks are we talking here? Overhead compartment in an airplane sized bag or one of those industrial-sized lawn bags that’s like 60 gallons? Dick jokes aside, I hope the Cougs figure this out alive. Y’all got a raw deal.

Throwdest

Go Pokes, Go Cougs, Go Beavs

Typical-Conference14

Can we replace OU and UT with OSU and WSU? They may not offer as much but boy do they have heart

Statalyzer

Hear hear!

Randomgreeks

Go Cougs!!!

Tiki-Jedi

This Duck fan is pulling for ya. This is all bullshit all around and I hate it. Both Wazzu and OSU deserve better, and I absolutely hate that we won’t all be in the same conference. We’re the PNW! We all belong together! Honestly, if it were all up to me, I’d have the Oregon and Washington state legislatures enact bills forcing the four major universities to remain in the same athletic conference, whichever one that is. Splitting up to chase TV money is fuckin’ gross. Regardless of where everyone falls, I’ll still be watching PNW teams, and there will only ever be one game a year I cheer against any of them; When/if they play my Ducks.

McDiggitty

Go Cougs!

rlrlrlrlrlr

Ain't nobody mess with family. Most every other day, I'd have mocking insults for my Beav & Coug brothers, but this sucks so hard I can't even do that. I don't care about beating whoever is in the BIG# Whatever. I want to beat Beavs & Cougs and I want it to hurt when they occasionally win. I freaking want to see what Jonathan Smith can do and whatever WAZZU is cooking up. The least obnoxious thing I think a Duck or Husky could say is that the opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy. I hate me some Beavs & Cougs and I could not care less about most of the BIG#.

Positive_Benefit8856

I hate what’s happening, but hope we’ll be together again soon. I hate that I have this thought, but I’d almost love it if UW, UO, and USC are all 10-1/11-1 in the regular season, then OSU and WSU win Thanksgiving weekend, and USC loses the conference title game.

DamBeaverz

Nothing but love, Cougar bro! Beavs fan since birth but I’ve been a Mike Leach (RIP) fan since his days at Texas Tech so seeing the pirate captain the ship in Pullman was spectacular. Plus you guys have the best logo hands down in all of sports. The Leach era at WSU was so needed and produced some of the best YT clips of all time so I’m thankful we got to experience that. I have definitely felt the love from this sub, even from the Duck and Husky fans. I don’t blame anyone for leaving because they’d be stupid not to. Hoping we both thrive wherever that may be and I’ll never root against the Cougs unless they play my Beavs. #cougarscreechnoises (kept playing when I saw a game in Pullman).

Bill3ffinMurray

Go Cougs

Zee_WeeWee

Add OSU, SMU, WSU, Cal, Stanford, SDSU into a 6-team “west division” of the ACC. Keep the 6 games on the schedule and just add 4 of the east side to cement the league slate. The other few games will be regional against west coast former PAC (see civil war will continue etc). It ain’t perfect but it gives y’all a semblance of regional sports. Though I doubt the ACCs agenda is to help WSU/OSU.

Cacanator

Yesterday i heard someone say that the football conferences should be superconferences and the other sports should just stay in their regional conferences because that makes the most fiscal sense for travel and whatnot. I agree, it would be a great compromise.

betona

And the hell of it is, none of us in this sub have any say in what's going on. We're just along for the ride. The university never called me--I found out like everyone else we were going to the SEC. And I think we started the dominoes falling.
