Sitting in a recliner in my living room with my laptop because my phone is charging. There is a Border Collie napping on the floor on one side of me and a Belgian Malinois napping on the other. I have a glass of cranberry juice on the table next to me. The sun is shining, and there is snow melting in the yard.
Wow, almost the same except iPad, sofa, jack Russell mix and in my lap. His highness would never sleep on the floor. Late afternoon on a beautiful sunny day. My wife is out with friends so just the two of us
What's this "sun" you speak of? Where I live the rain has been relentless for weeks and everywhere is flooded. The seagulls are having a marvellous time though.
Watching random shows on my DVR. Spent the day putting away my Christmas village. I have a yellow lab and GSP on my bed. I just made hot tea. I'm waiting on our first big winter storm of the season to hit tomorrow. Happy New Year.

I'm sitting in my little corner office in my family room pretending to work when in reality, I finished all of my tasks for work weeks ago and am milking the freedom. I have a cup of lukewarm blueberry and hazelnut coffee in front of me that I'm debating if I'm going to keep drinking because I pretty much quit drinking coffee a while back but was just hit with insomnia this week. I'm looking at the remnants of Christmas wrapping paper and unboxed toys that were half played with on the floor because I got tired of asking my sons to clean up for the umpteenth time. I'll get to it eventually. I just have no motivation right now. I've got my heater next to me blowing on full because I'm always cold. I have no idea why I still live here. Apparently, we got "lucky" this year because we got little snow when we normally get a few feet by now. We had a brown Christmas. Still no snow.
Earlier today, I was working on updating my resume because I feel like I haven't used my brain fully for my job since I started. Then, instantly became conflicted with the idea because I have a well-paying job that expects little from me with an unlimited vacation policy. My 10-year-old son keeps running into the room showing me what he's built in Roblox, asking for snacks when he knows where the snack cabinet is, and asking me why I'm not working and on Reddit instead. He's home because, yet again this year, school was cancelled today because of a potential "incident" that could occur. I'm saddened that this is now a norm. He doesn't go to a dangerous school. Likely just a bunch of kids with big egos who didn't feel like returning to school after the winter break.
Despite the world feeling pretty bleak right now, I'm in good spirits. I didn't think I'd ever live to be this age. I level up next week. Life is good. I'm truly happy for the first time in my life because I discovered my self-worth. I'm working on the self-esteem part but I'm getting closer. New year, new me? Nah, I'm already okay with me. It's just a new year.

This is what makes me worried about being a parent. I love cleaning and things being clean (I know this directly contradicts me saying "you gotta leave the mess" lol I need to follow my own advice). I don't want to resent children for be children, ya know? Not to overshare with you, stranger lol. I hope your break was good :)
My favorite part about having kids is dumping the legos on the floor (in a contained space) and watching their minds work as they build beautiful creations of their imagination. Anything can be cleaned or fixed, but I get to fix all the childhood trauma and sadness re-experiencing the wonders of the world through their eyes. Itās fascinating. The clean space can wait. Cause one day, theyāll move out of the house and all youāll have is clean rooms and memories. Savor it while you can.

Right now Iām sitting in the car line with the windows open, at my granddaughterās school waiting for them to open the gate so I can pick her up. Itās 73Ā° in Florida right now. So not too hot. Just right.
For example: I am, shamefully, still in bed though it is nearing noon. I am on vacation, so Iām not too worried. My dog is on one side of me while my cat is on the other. In my normal sized agricultural town it is sunny for the first time this week. My bedroom wall is near the backyard, so I can hear and see the pool cleaner. My fan is making a creaking noise but the rest of the house is silent.
Plans today include shopping with my brother, who is home and staying with me for the first time since joining the air force, cooking mexican white rice, cleaning a bit, playing my switch and maybe some light crafting. When my significant other gets home, weāll have dinner and we will either enjoy anime or make a fire in the backyard.
Iām in my home office trying to bang out a document for work after procrastinating the whole week. To my left are all of my books, mostly social theory and history from my by-gone days of being an academic (sigh), to the right of me is an open Murphy bed that I havenāt closed since my sister in law was here over new yearsāwe were going to have an intimate dinner party but it kinda turned into a medium sized rager. In front of me are my laptop, extra screen, several phones I use for work and a window that overlooks my back yard. Itās sunny outside but cold, we expect a major snow storm this weekend. Strewn about the desk are colorful pens and manicure implements tha to use during meetings where I have nothing to say. Thereās also a lamp, my Wellbutrin, and an olive wood pocket knife my father in law got in Italy that I use for opening packages. It smells lightly floral in here because of a candle our Realtor gave us when we closed on this house 3 months ago. Itās a typical workday for me. I have one more meeting at 3:30 then Iām going to do some yoga, take a shower, and settle quiet night in with my husband.
Iām sitting in a salon waiting to get a haircut. The lights are too bright and I donāt love the staff vibe. I drove here and listened to the radio on the way.
Going for a different look but nothing drastic like colors or things like that waaaaaayyyyy too pricey! I only get a cut once a year if that! Wish I could still do āpatio cutsā where my neighbor used to come over and sheād just cut my hair outside for a great price. She moved and someone else is that lucky now!
Iām in the ābreak roomā at work, sitting finishing my lunch hour. The walls are a pale yellow. There are two old (as in age and style) round tables with a couple of chairs each, small and plastic, a water cooler (and heater), a refrigerator, a stand with a microwave and Keurig machine, and a sink. Up on the walls are the standard state and federal labor posters, information about OSHA, that sort of thing. A decent sized window facing south is letting in some welcome sunlight. Itās peaceful. The refrigerator hums, the water cooler turns on and off, the muffled background sounds are subtle reminders that Iām still at work. Iām sipping coffee I just made, decaf at this time of day.
Iāve been reading bits of a biography during lunch breaks but today I had a Teams chat with a colleague out of the country. Due to time zones I wanted to be certain to catch him before he left for the day.
I have ten minutes left. Iāll stand up and stretch and maybe go outside for a few minutes of sun before I go back to my station.

I can wake up in the morning and grab a cup of coffee and sit at my desk, no commute. I've only put 35K miles on the car I bought 10 years ago. I shower mid-day when I'm already wide awake instead of doing it when I'm half asleep. It just makes mornings so much easier. I don't think I could ever go back to working in an office unless I had no alternative.

Having lunch in a great little hole in the wall, Thai, neighborhood market. The food is superb. I am the only Caucasian in the place and understand nothing of the conversations around me. I love Thai food, think I am in heaven!
I am sitting on an L shaped couch while my son plays with his Disney Cars toys I got him for Christmas. I have snacking pecans roasting in the oven and theyāre about to be done. The house smells like cinnamon and nutmeg. Then Iām going to make dinner. We are having some chicken sausage with rotini recipe I found online. I wonāt follow the recipe because Iām WILD!
Iām on my 30 minute lunch break at the hospital I work at. I always go to this room called the restore room, which is a quiet relaxation space with a massage chair, books, fidgets, puzzles, snacks, coffee, bean bags, etc. Right now Iām looking out one of the windows and I see a bustling city aka traffic. Itās sunny outside, thereās hints of snow on the ground, and itās 42 degrees.
That room sounds quite relaxing. I imagine compared to the rest of the hospital. It also sounds like the most colorful room of the hospital. Love the picture you painted about it being sunny with hints of snow and traffic. Itās exactly what I was hoping to get.
It is, actually! They play spa music and have diffusers going all the time. Itās nice going from the stress of the rest of the hospital to this little oasis. :)

I'm taking a break from my job. I work from home so I am sitting at my desk, in my little office, which is on the second story of my old 2 story house in a tiny village on the Canadian Prairies. Looking out the window, I see snow but not nearly as much as usual which is a bit alarming. It's -6C outside which is too warm.

My couch is next to a large window, and I can see outside where itās very cloudy and chilly today. I live in the country. I can see a small lake and a field outside. In the summer the farmer grows either corn or soybeans in the field. Sometimes I will see a bird land on the tree branches outside of the window. Itās quiet in the house as everyone but me is out. My two cats are sleeping and my daughterās budgie is happily chirping and singing on his swing. A few minutes ago I saw a delivery van out front, so Iāll have to go outside to see what was delivered. Nothing for me, I think my husband ordered something.
It's just after 7am and I'm lying in bed with my sleeping partner's heavy AF leg across mine. From the sounds of it, my oldest is still asleep and the youngest is playing Kirby. In a minute I'll get up and dressed for the barre class I do every Saturday morning. It's going to be hot today so we'll probably go to the beach later.
Sitting in my ex-husbandās living room in another state terminating employees in our IT system because - surprise! - layoffs. I was flying our son back to dadās after he stayed with me in my home state for Christmas. Got the news yesterday that layoffs would occur while Iām on my final vacation day. Sigh. We're on our last full day of family vacation. Kinda tired after a great week, trying to eat and drink everything left in our fridge, and enjoying not being home. Lying in bed. Just woke up. It's bright and summer in Australia outside. It's warm. The dogs are pacing and they're trying to get me to wake up and feed them. It's semi dark but they keep walking under the curtains to look out and let a ton of sunlight in. I have to pee which means once I get up it's all over for me. I am regretting 2 weeks off just doing nothing as I am getting bored but don't want to go back to work. Oh well I am getting up now.
I'm working security for the construction company that's renovating part of a hospital. I'm not actual security so I'm not doing anything other than making sure no one goes in a specific door while they're working. Just kinda sitting in front of a side door right outside the ER entrance watching the people coming and going. And it's cold as hell out here

Iām lounging in an oversized beanbag in our home office while I keep my husband company (heās working). The cat tree is next to me on the left and my boy, Kisu, is snoring away on it. One of his sisters is sleeping on the level above him. Next to them are our shelves with the snake terrariums.

There is a snow storm on here in the North Atlantic. . Our flight for a month long medical trip with our child has been postponed until tomorrow and waiting anxiously to hear from Ronald McDonald House on availability. Watching Seinfeld with my 2 dogs in a heated blanket and a glass of wine. Lasagna is in the oven.

It's an open heart surgery, but hopefully, it will result in the best outcome for her and we won't have to think about transplant for a while.We live on an island and specialized care for this situation is in another province. Going to be quite the clean up and travel after this snowstorm. There is nothing easy about this at all. My extreme 3 day cook lasagna is comforting for all of 4. Taking a five minute break from exercise.
When I say exercise, I mean 15 reps of squats, because I am very weak and learning to work out at home. I am trying the Hybrid Calisthenics routine, and it's been working so far, since they have you start with the easiest possible versions of exercises. I used to do yoga daily before the pandemic, never managed to do anything else since. Can't do one push up, but I'll get there some day.
On a larger scale, avoiding putting together a lecture I have to give in gas exchange (breathing physiology). I am suspected of having pre-mestrual disforia disorder, which is like PMS, but instead of feeling irritated, I get majorly depressed and cannot function for about 15 days of the month. On top of my normal depresssion and anxiety, it's been hard. It's not even like I don't want to do it, I just can't. I don't fit any of the criteria for ADHD, but in this specific issue, it's like ADHD. I don't feel extremely depressed now, but I'll do anything that's not read the textbook and put together the slides. It's like there's an invisible barrier there.
I feel like some comments are taking this too literally, like what they're doing in the moment instead of painting a picture of life in general (but that makes sense because who wants to reveal a lot about themselves on here). Overview: I'm in my early 30s, chilling at my apartment. No job - but I'm in school getting by on loans and savings (I work $20/hr jobs in summer and live meagerly - or try to). I'm talking to a new person since my last relationship ended 6 months ago. I'm feeling tense because my car needs work but I'm hopeful for the future.

The signal lights at the Austrian and German lakeside are flashing, but I already know that nasty weather is coming. My bf has gone to bed already and is snoozing in the other room. Since I had spent my day off quite gloriously unproductive, I don't feel tired yet.

I just had a quick dip in our pool after walking to the store to get some canned mushrooms (no fresh around) because my husband wants mushroom chicken for dinner. Then, I decided to take a walk down to the water and wished I'd got the paddleboard out. And I walked home again and got my suit on and jumped in the pool. And I have a beer. Our guard dog is lying under the table. She's got a dream on where she's attacking something!

Iām sitting in the kitchen nook. Itās my favorite place in the house because it has south-facing windows and weāre in the northern hemisphere. The nook is sort of like a restaurant booth and upholstered in a bright berry color. The walls are green. I just finished lunch, and in addition to my dishes, there are a couple of books Iām reading on the table, and a green marker for underlining. My partner is doing some meal prep for later. He sighs every few minutes and is sort of lost in thought. The ravens are making a racket outside, and the sun is shining through the blinds in slats. Itās pretty quiet and Iām either going to fall asleep or take a shower, and then get back to my desk and do some more work.
Having a late lunch at a small local Mexican restaurant. Carne asada taco in a flour tortilla with refried beans and rice. I also got a āagua de limĆ³nā to drink. The rice is delicious, reminds me of my grandmotherās. Procrastinating going home and getting some work done.
My desk is in front of an east facing window and now that the sun is up higher I've thrown open the curtains. The slider next to me is also wide open and I can hear and see the hummingbirds visiting the feeder. My view from here is blue sky.
Normally I would tell you that I'm doing some crafts or sewing, maybe watching something streaming but today I have the opportunity to help out one of my neighbors and I'm doing what I can. Other than creating a post on a fundraiser subreddit I'm exploring social media hoping to get the word out.
Back in my day we would "pass the hat" at work if someone needed help. At my age I'm slowly acclimating to a more digital world and I'm dealing with the feeling that this is (maybe) impersonal? And I've seen some really good things come from having a wider audience so I'm exploring the options.
I'm also doing the most boomer thing, EVER. The gofund site creates a poster you can print, so I did and now I'm going to mail a few them out. Please feel to laugh, I'm ok with that!
I'm sitting at my desk, behind my laptop, in an internal battle between distraction and studying for finals. I opened reddit because I'm tired after a long day of studying, and don't feel like starting that last slideshow. It's 10.30 pm. My desk is covered in papers and snacks, and empty glasses/plates that I have to bring downstairs. I have a friend on a google meet call cause we study together. She's hugging her cat who just sat down right on her textbook and it's making me wish I could be a cat, since they lead a quiet life of naps and food.

Sitting in my living room in a chaise lounge in Metro Detroit. Kinda chilly outside and super gloomy. Today is my day off. 2 kitties snuggling on either side of me. Boyfriend is playing Red Dead Redemption on the couch across from me after his recent obsession with gun slingers (he is in the middle of the dark tower series, lol) I have my laptop open trying to create some album artwork for his new single coming out with his band. I have a few rough ideas to go off of. Thinking about getting up for some lemonade but should probably drink water since all I've had today was close to a full pot of coffee. Looking at the Christmas tree that probably needs to come down soon. Alexa is playing the Grateful Dead Sirus XM channel. Life is peaceful today and for that I am thankful.
Iām in Newfoundland, Canada. Just finished working from home and now have a lasagna in the oven. We are midway through a blizzard and weāre getting 30cm of snow. Itās not windy (very abnormal for here) so the heavy snowfall is actually kind of peaceful. I probably wonāt leave the house at all today lol, maybe tomorrow.
Sitting at my desk at work. It's both my office and a showroom. I'm listening to my boss talk to a customer while my coworker sits at the desk to my left. In front of me is a felt divider with pictures of my family pinned up. My desk is in a little cubby blocked in by bookshelves that hold books and items on display for the showroom. No one comes back here other than me, my coworker, or one of my bosses if they need us. My desk is blue but cluttered with papers and samples from our vendors. I'm taking a break between tasks but will soon have to get back to drawings and selections for my clients.
I'm in the Upper East Side in Manhattan in a gorgeous and spacious studio that belongs to some friends and who are letting me stay in while they are not in town.
I'm not a rich person but any means, but I've been blessed by their friendship and generosity and right now I'm living in what I can only describe as a dream!

It's my second to last day of holidays, summer Saturday morning in New Zealand. Lying on bed vaping, scrolling through Reddit, trying to stretch my body which is very sore after returning back to gym. My daughter on bed by me watching cartoons and waiting for me to go and make something out of polymer clay together. But first I need to make some pizza sause for the pan pizzas we're making tonight. My partner is chilling in the lounge watching youtubes and having cuddles with our staffy and our bread loaf (cat) is digging quite extensively in her toilet.
Finally a sunny day after days of crappy weather, so looking forward to an afternoon swim in the pool.
I'm a little bit sad the holidays coming to an end, as it's been wonderful three weeks of hanging out with my little family and decomposing on the couch, but also am quite enthusiastic to go back to work on Monday (that won't last long for sure!).
In my car sitting in line at a Walgreens in Austin. Itās 63 and sunny out. Iām in town for work/fun, so I probably shouldnāt be spending my Friday afternoon in line to pick up a prescription, but Iāll go do something fun later.
I'm on my sofa, snuggled under my electric blanket. I really ought to go to bed but instead I'm procrastinating on Reddit. My cat is asleep on her blanket next to me. I live in an English village and it has done nothing but rain and rain and rain for weeks. The river has burst its banks, fields have become lakes and roads are closed. I feel grateful and lucky that my home isn't flooded like a lot of people in the UK right now. But on the bright side the forecast for the weekend is dry so I shall be donning my wellies and going for a walk.

I'm sitting on the second bus on my commute home from work.
I get off my first bus at a subway station that has a mall at one of the exits. There's a City Ikea in that mall and sometimes I like to window shop there on my commute home š So I have a bag from ikea on the floor between my legs, a backpack on my lap, and a drink in one hand.

I'm technically on the clock, but I didn't get a lunch today and in less than an hour I have to run a security test for my job that will probably keep me online for another four hours, so I'm trying to squeeze an hour of "me time" in.
I'm in my home office. It's decently sized, it used to be the bedroom of my landlord's child before they moved out and rented the place out. It has two desks, one for work and one for play. Two bookshelves against the wall that are sparsely populated with books and knick knacks, and boxes in another corner containing the bookshelves contents. I've been working a lot of nights and haven't felt motivated to decorate. I have various posters of different science fictions I enjoy, cat art I bought from a renaissance festival, and squidward's controversial Bold and Brash painting on my walls.
There's a window in my office but all I can see is my neighbors wall roughly ten feet away. It's mostly for letting in some natural light.
Working from my bed while watching old TV shows on mute. I'm currently looking at the mess around me that I need to clean. It's still a disaster after returning from a couple weeks at my mom's for the holidays. Suitcases are empty but still in the middle of the room. I need to reorganize my work space this weekend. I feel overwhelmed and anxious, but happy to be home.
Iām sitting on my sofa w my kitten asleep next to me, and my lab sleeping next to my kitten. On my phone while my iPad recharges, and my Christmas tree is lit. My feet are on an ottoman, along with the clothes I folded earlier. I have a full belly and a sparkling water. I live alone and love it.
I'm sitting on the couch in my living room. The TV is on. My laptop is on a little rolling stand in front of me. There's a huge picture window to my left, but it's a cold, gray day and not much to look at today. I'm currently unemployed, it's Friday, I'm doing laundry. The last two years of my life were overwhelmingly bad, and I'm suffering significant sadness (but not exactly depression) as a result. I should be working on some tax documents and writing thank you letters for a small nonprofit I manage as a volunteer, but I'm not feeling that today. In a few minutes, I'm going to apply for a job I do not want because I'm required to do that in order to collect unemployment benefits. My house is warm and cozy and I'm glad this is where I am right now.
Sitting at my desk in my bedroom, there is one cat and two kittens on the bed. One kitten was trying to type this comment, but I shooed him away. Soon, I will be cuddling it while I scroll, and chat with Best Buy about returning a microwave. :)
I'm sick, but managed the energy to pick up the house, tidy my room, and do some laundry. I put fresh sheets on my bed (which is my favorite thing) and now I'm cozied up in bed, drinking some hot tea while sitting under a heated blanket. I have a perfect view of the sunset out of my bedroom window this time of year and tonight it was a stunner.

Iāll put some rice in the cooker before heading out as am making Japanese curry. May head to liquor store and get some beers in also. I just got home from work. I dropped by the grocery store on the way home to get some burger ingredients, but now I'm just sitting at my usual spot in front of my desk unwinding a bit and killing time until it's a decent dinner time. In typical 20-something dude fashion, yes, I am currently sitting in a racecar gaming chair.
I've been trying to keep the rest of the house a little cleaner/classier, but I have been unapologetic about letting my office become my "man cave" in terms of decoration. It's by no means "complete", but I do love my desk and the little arrangement I've been putting together in this specific corner. The shelves I only just installed a couple months ago, but I absolutely love having a place to display some of my things. It's mostly just pictures of my car/motorcycle, and some souvenirs from the couple road trips I did with each of them this year, along with a few 3d prints of my DnD character and a few more pictures of friends/family.
My desk is a little messy with a few snacks, assorted bits and pieces and tools for all my little projects, and a few stray pieces of paper I need to hold onto a little longer, but aren't worth properly filing away anywhere. On the left monitor is the page for a pair of motorcycle pants that I want to buy before my next trip this spring, along with the tabs for a dozen other things I want to get for the bike. Reddit and whatever I'm actively searching for in the middle. And then on the far right I always have youtube up. I cannot for the life of me stay focused on any one thing at my desk, so this is my usual arrangement 99% of the time.
In the closet is my 3d printer and a bunch of tools for it, so that's out of sight. But you can see the shadow box I've been filling up with 3dBenchys (a very common test print you can run that's practically become a meme within the 3d printing community). I'm going to find a good spot for it on the wall one of these days.
Behind and besides me are the mess from a project I started a couple months ago now, which is a new cage for my leopard gecko. I got a new cage for him and have been working on making a custom background, painting it, and I'm currently on one of the final steps of applying a sealant to it... It's just taking a long time. I *really* want to get that last coat applied this weekend so it can be fully dry by next weekend, so I can finally get him moved in.
The two small bookshelves are basically just messes. They collect stuff that doesn't have a more proper home yet... That's still part of the work-in-progress.
Overall, it's a little messy and still a work-in-progress, but my office is very *me*. It feels a little petty or vane to be so happy about such material things, but here, I'm surrounded by all the things that I like so I find it comforting.
Sitting in my home office, wearing PJs, waiting for a handful of people to respond to some emails I've sent. I live in the Colorado mountains so my view is beautiful pines covered in snow. My husband, whose home office is right next door to mine, is taking his lunch break nap in our bed with the dog. Cat is in my office yelling at me for dinner even though we're still 2.5 hours out...I have my work and personal set up on my desk so while I work with three monitors, I have two others for reddit and Hulu/Netflix/YouTube/etc. as background noise. We sound super old but we're just two 30something DINKs enjoying the good life.

I am about to get back to my book. My apartment is in a 150 year old house and has a friendly ghost. He helps me fix things. Today we had snow, and I put out all my bird seed. I can periodically hear birds chirp and peck at the metal table on my rock porch.

I'm sitting on the couch with my wife on the east coast of Canada. Snowstorm is blowing outside and we are watching Muppets in Space. Few beers in and a full belly after supper. Grateful to be off for the weekend.
I'm sitting in my car in a parking garage in between my Monday-Friday 8-5 and my second job. On Fridays they close the office at 4:30pm and my second job starts at 5:30pm. I'm already changed so now I'm sitting in a little doom-scroll before I head over. Sometimes I go early but I don't want to today. Someone at my second job hurt my feelings (dumb I am 31F but I still feel like I'm in middle school sometimes) so I am having trouble going in. I cried about it last night. Everything in me says to let it go keep my head up. But yeah. That's what I'm doing. Back to the second job tomorrow, Saturday all day. I'm considering telling second job I'm scaling back on a project I wasn't going to be paid for ... but I have not determined that yet. I don't want to seem petty but the situation has made me remember to take care of myself first.

I'm just sitting in my home office on the farm looking out the windows at the wild turkeys pecking the snowy ground as they walk up the hill to the woods behind my house to roost for the night.
I watch them all the time; they're so interesting. The size of the flock rises and falls depending on hunting season. Right now there's around 3 dozen. They come swooping down from the woods at dawn, then walk and peck over to the alfalfa fields to feed. Eventually they cross the dirt road and go into my neighbor's fields. Around dusk they cross the road again and walk and peck back here to roost for the night. They walk in groups, each group in a line. The males usually walk at the back of the lines and fuss at each other as they let the hens lead the way.
Also, I'm thinking about what to cook for dinner. Do you think I can sub quinoa for pasta???
i got away from work early, got both trains soon after i got to the stations so got home before 10pm, im sat on the couch in the living room of my glasgow tenement in scotland with a cup of tea my bf made me, my cat is sleeping on the other couch he is old and sleeps a lot now. bf has headphones on and is making a tune on his synths, i can hear him rythmically push buttons. im having a wee scroll before i start to edit my current project, which is long exposure street photography ive been shooting for the last few months.
bf is now making me dinner, baked fish and roast mediterranean vegetables, been on the keto diet for 3 weeks and lost half a stone over christmas, my work trousers are already loose :)

It's 22 degrees out but my small minimalist condo is all steamy bc I took a long hot shower. Pitsky is sleeping on the gray leather couch by the window and it's dark out and quiet.

Iām sitting at my desk in my office trying to stretch a small task to finish the day. I work in procurement for a construction company and my office is a windowless room that used to be a storage closet that I share with my boss and one coworker (both male, Iām female), we all get along well and agree on living conditions so the lights are always off and the office is illuminated by our screens (we all have two huge monitors plus our laptop screen) and our desk lights.
My desk is kind of cluttered because I have ADHD so I always have crap scattered everywhere but itās controlled clutter. My favorite thing on my desk is the sticky note pad from one of our suppliers that looks like a pallet of sheet rock, itās really cute. [Edit: sticky note pallet photo :)](https://imgur.com/a/mRNpVlN) My coworker doesnāt really have a bunch of stuff on his desk because he keeps it all in his drawers but his desktop wallpaper is a digital drawing of Superman standing in the rain in the middle of the city. Last week it was Batman. Next week it will apparently be Nightwing.
My boss is out of town so his desk is dark and empty right now but heās a former Marine so itās usually neat no matter what. His drawers are full of snacks that he eats instead of lunch because heās one of those āfirst in last out donāt call in unless youāre deadā kinda guys who shows up at 6AM and never leaves before 6PM. My coworker and I are both in our early 30s and our boss is in his late 50s so he calls us his āwork kidsā, and I steal his snacks very brazenly right off his desk because that is what kids do.
Our office is stacked to the ceiling in the corners with material samples, toolboxes, ladders, brooms, and other miscellaneous crap, because even though it was renovated into an office it is still a storage closet. Weāre ok with this, it makes it cozy. It also makes it hard for people to tell when weāre there, which we like, because we have a lot of stuff to do and itās hard to do it with people busting the door down to ask you stuff.

I am going to turn it into the spare I have built into my toolbox top in my garage/shop area. Also pigging out on some candy I got in my Christmas stocking and hanging out with the dog.

There is washing hanging on our undercover line to my left and the pool filter has kicked in, so the pool to my right is bubbling away.
My dogs only get up when I do, so it was quiet earlier but now the worlds most vicious chihuahuas are bouncing around near the fence line on the other side of the pool looking for anything to bark at to warn the world I am awake and they will defend me at all costs.
Husband and I are discussing what to do today to squeeze some more life in to our last weekend before returning to work on Monday.
We have just had the last 3 weeks off and are not looking forward to ending our lazy summer break.

Five minutes ok was in my recliner with my big orange cat on the blanket on my lap, and he would do a little annoyed chirp every time I moved a leg.

Mattress in living room (you ask)? My adult daughter and I have one tv. Itās in the living room. She doesnāt live here full time and Iām her mom. We like to hang out (we call them sleep overs) and we had a spare mattress and we hauled it into the living room. So what!?
So while I am facing the TV (itās off and blocks the fire place), Iām also facing 3 large windows facing an open field and trees. The street is very quiet and the room is still well lit.

I'm in a machine shop watching my CNC lathe make a small hydraulic plunger. My machine is currently quiet, but the shop is loud, as there's a machine next to me hogging off a few inches of steel with a [face mill](https://youtu.be/HSFI17_4Yjs?si=-OhRDEMfrXFu_ekT). While that's the tool, the process is very loud. I have hearing protection on, but the "BRRRRRT" of each cut shakes your bones and vibrates the ground. The chips shoot off like little bullets and clatter against the side of the machine.
My lathe is making a barely audible hiss with every pass. Every few seconds, it stops for me to check the part. Because I'm only making one of these, and some dimensions need to be within 0.0005 inches, I have to check it, make a tiny adjustment and then take another cut. Visually, the part is smaller than my thumb and shiny steel, while most of the rest of this machine is scraped up paint and dented sheet metal, reminders of past mistakes. Despite its look, it can still hold 0.0002" tolerances once you get it dialed in.
It's 38Ā° F outside and the sun has mostly set. I'm sitting on the couch in the living room of our little farm style house out in the country. The only light is coming from the muted TV on the wall playing a random sitcom.
My daughter (3) is snoozing peacefully in my lap, with her head on my chest. We're all bundled up. I'm browsing Reddit while I let her slip into a deeper sleep, so that I can successfully carry her to bed without waking her. The living room is cluttered. Toys and stuff everywhere. I haven't had time to clean yet today. It's quiet, and every once in awhile, I hear cars driving down the road, or a train rumbling down the tracks, cows mooing, dogs barking. It's peaceful.
When she's in bed, I plan on digging into the sundae I bought and didn't have the chance to eat lol, it's in the freezer. I'll wash my makeup off, snuggle up on the couch, eat my sundae, and either listen to an audiobook or watch some TV.

Hear some geese down by the lake in the distance. Just a peaceful evening.
Living room of rural New Jersey home (Yes, there are RURAL parts of New Jersey and they are beautiful. I'm in the mountainous region). Heating up fish sticks for the kids before I go buy wine. Usually we make nicer dinners but my husband made ham bone and veggie soup today that well, is basically kid-repellent. I told them if they ate the little bit I gave them we could have fish sticks.

I'm sitting in my bedroom at my desk eating gingerbread cookies and listening to my cat groom himself on his bed behind me. I'm vaguely listening to a stream talking about a game I play (Dark and Darker) and thinking about getting up to listen to an audiobook and have some tea. My PC fans are loud and the room is warm, which is great cause it's cold as sweet fuck outside. I've just come back from dropping off a ton of Christmas presents at my aunt's house (they've just come back into town) and I picked up a ton of chinese food on the way back. It was delicious.

I love this post. I'm sitting in my little corner office in my family room pretending to work when in reality, I finished all of my tasks for work weeks ago and am milking the freedom. I have a cup of lukewarm blueberry and hazelnut coffee in front of me that I'm debating if I'm going to keep drinking because I pretty much quit drinking coffee a while back but was just hit with insomnia this week. I'm looking at the remnants of Christmas wrapping paper and unboxed toys that were half played with on the floor because I got tired of asking my sons to clean up for the umpteenth time. I'll get to it eventually. I just have no motivation right now. I've got my heater next to me blowing on full because I'm always cold. I have no idea why I still live here. Apparently, we got "lucky" this year because we got little snow when we normally get a few feet by now. We had a brown Christmas. Still no snow. Earlier today, I was working on updating my resume because I feel like I haven't used my brain fully for my job since I started. Then, instantly became conflicted with the idea because I have a well-paying job that expects little from me with an unlimited vacation policy. My 10-year-old son keeps running into the room showing me what he's built in Roblox, asking for snacks when he knows where the snack cabinet is, and asking me why I'm not working and on Reddit instead. He's home because, yet again this year, school was cancelled today because of a potential "incident" that could occur. I'm saddened that this is now a norm. He doesn't go to a dangerous school. Likely just a bunch of kids with big egos who didn't feel like returning to school after the winter break. Despite the world feeling pretty bleak right now, I'm in good spirits. I didn't think I'd ever live to be this age. I level up next week. Life is good. I'm truly happy for the first time in my life because I discovered my self-worth. My favorite part about having kids is dumping the legos on the floor (in a contained space) and watching their minds work as they build beautiful creations of their imagination. Anything can be cleaned or fixed, but I get to fix all the childhood trauma and sadness re-experiencing the wonders of the world through their eyes. Itās fascinating. The clean space can wait. Cause one day, theyāll move out of the house and all youāll have is clean rooms and memories. Savor it while you can.

For example: I am, shamefully, still in bed though it is nearing noon. I am on vacation, so Iām not too worried. My dog is on one side of me while my cat is on the other. In my normal sized agricultural town it is sunny for the first time this week. My bedroom wall is near the backyard, so I can hear and see the pool cleaner. My fan is making a creaking noise but the rest of the house is silent.

Plans today include shopping with my brother, who is home and staying with me for the first time since joining the air force, cooking mexican white rice, cleaning a bit, playing my switch and maybe some light crafting. When my significant other gets home, weāll have dinner and we will either enjoy anime or make a fire in the backyard.

Iām in my home office trying to bang out a document for work after procrastinating the whole week. To my left are all of my books, mostly social theory and history from my by-gone days of being an academic (sigh), to the right of me is an open Murphy bed that I havenāt closed since my sister in law was here over new yearsāwe were going to have an intimate dinner party but it kinda turned into a medium sized rager. In front of me are my laptop, extra screen, several phones I use for work and a window that overlooks my back yard. Itās sunny outside but cold, we expect a major snow storm this weekend. Strewn about the desk are colorful pens and manicure implements tha to use during meetings where I have nothing to say. Thereās also a lamp, my Wellbutrin, and an olive wood pocket knife my father in law got in Italy that I use for opening packages. It smells lightly floral in here because of a candle our Realtor gave us when we closed on this house 3 months ago. Itās a typical workday for me. I have one more meeting at 3:30 then Iām going to do some yoga, take a shower, and settle quiet night in with my husband.
Iām sitting in a salon waiting to get a haircut. The lights are too bright and I donāt love the staff vibe. I drove here and listened to the radio on the way.

Iām in the ābreak roomā at work, sitting finishing my lunch hour. The walls are a pale yellow. There are two old (as in age and style) round tables with a couple of chairs each, small and plastic, a water cooler (and heater), a refrigerator, a stand with a microwave and Keurig machine, and a sink. Up on the walls are the standard state and federal labor posters, information about OSHA, that sort of thing. A decent sized window facing south is letting in some welcome sunlight. Itās peaceful. The refrigerator hums, the water cooler turns on and off, the muffled background sounds are subtle reminders that Iām still at work. Iām sipping coffee I just made, decaf at this time of day. Iāve been reading bits of a biography during lunch breaks but today I had a Teams chat with a colleague out of the country. Due to time zones I wanted to be certain to catch him before he left for the day. I have ten minutes left. Iāll stand up and stretch and maybe go outside for a few minutes of sun before I go back to my station.
I'm setting at my desk in my home office. I have some legal pads with work info to my right, and a small stack of files to my left. I'm drinking a Bluephoria Yerba Mate. I have a vintage glassware lamp on my desk with a comforting warm glow. There is a red and white tapestry with farm animals hanging on the wall behind my desk.
For a moment, I thought that was some exotic or cultural drink. It wasnāt until I looked it up that I learned I could buy it at my local target.
I'm sitting in bed with my German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees barking at me because someone made a noise outside and she's very protective of her flock. I am not her flock. Check out the "Children's writers and illustrators Market" book. I think the latest version is 2023. They come out yearly with updated information. Kind of old school, but still useful. My day job is animation, but I freelance book illustrations for an educational publisher. Nothing too cool, learn to read or count kind of stuff, but still fun. I have 6 cats total here. 3 of them are following the other humans in the household.

I'm sitting in my pueblo-style casita in the New Mexican high desert. The border of my lot meets the border of Native American land owned by the 19 Nations. I can hear what sounds like a demented homeless person on the other side of my fence shouting obscenities. They have their own police force on that side of my fence, whom I'm sure will run that person off shortly. I work from home so I'm in my home office. I'm on lunch break atm, hoping that the rest of the day goes by fast so I can start my weekend.

I love it. I've been working from home for almost 12 years. I can wake up in the morning and grab a cup of coffee and sit at my desk, no commute. I've only put 35K miles on the car I bought 10 years ago. I shower mid-day when I'm already wide awake instead of doing it when I'm half asleep. It just makes mornings so much easier. I don't think I could ever go back to working in an office unless I had no alternative.

Iām on my 30 minute lunch break at the hospital I work at. I always go to this room called the restore room, which is a quiet relaxation space with a massage chair, books, fidgets, puzzles, snacks, coffee, bean bags, etc. Right now Iām looking out one of the windows and I see a bustling city aka traffic. Itās sunny outside, thereās hints of snow on the ground, and itās 42 degrees.
That room sounds quite relaxing. I imagine compared to the rest of the hospital. It also sounds like the most colorful room of the hospital. Love the picture you painted about it being sunny with hints of snow and traffic. Itās exactly what I was hoping to get.

I'm taking a break from my job. I work from home so I am sitting at my desk, in my little office, which is on the second story of my old 2 story house in a tiny village on the Canadian Prairies. Looking out the window, I see snow but not nearly as much as usual which is a bit alarming. It's -6C outside which is too warm. And all i can hear is my beagle snoring from across the room lol.
I'm in my apartment enjoying my first day off in 9 days. I'm in Iowa so it's cloudy and chilly outside but inside I have a few table lamps on, a candle going, and french press coffee brewing. I'm catching up on chores so my ironing board is out behind me with folded laundry on it and I think I've successfully managed to iron my work pants for the first time!

Iām sitting on my couch, listening for when the clothes washer will be finished spinning because Iām doing laundry today. My couch is next to a large window, and I can see outside where itās very cloudy and chilly today. I live in the country. I can see a small lake and a field outside. In the summer the farmer grows either corn or soybeans in the field. Sometimes I will see a bird land on the tree branches outside of the window. Itās quiet in the house as everyone but me is out. My two cats are sleeping and my daughterās budgie is happily chirping and singing on his swing. A few minutes ago I saw a delivery van out front, so Iāll have to go outside to see what was delivered. Nothing for me, I think my husband ordered something.

Its a large king size bed, tv at the foot of it connected to my PS5. Theres a bookshelf stuffed with books, CDs and games to the left of it and my wardrobe on it's right. I'm supposed to be carrying on with tidying and organising my room after letting it get too messy but today is my one day off work and im struggling to find the effort in me to get on with it. I can hear my mother watching TV downstairs, my cat is sitting on the windowsill on my right looking outside and occasionally at me

Our flight for a month long medical trip with our child has been postponed until tomorrow and waiting anxiously to hear from Ronald McDonald House on availability. Watching Seinfeld with my 2 dogs in a heated blanket and a glass of wine. Lasagna is in the oven.

It's an open heart surgery, but hopefully, it will result in the best outcome for her and we won't have to think about transplant for a while.We live on an island and specialized care for this situation is in another province. Going to be quite the clean up and travel after this snowstorm. There is nothing easy about this at all. My extreme 3 day cook lasagna is comforting for all of 4. Taking a five minute break from exercise. When I say exercise, I mean 15 reps of squats, because I am very weak and learning to work out at home. I am trying the Hybrid Calisthenics routine, and it's been working so far, since they have you start with the easiest possible versions of exercises. I used to do yoga daily before the pandemic, never managed to do anything else since. Can't do one push up, but I'll get there some day. On a larger scale, avoiding putting together a lecture I have to give in gas exchange (breathing physiology). I am suspected of having pre-mestrual disforia disorder, which is like PMS, but instead of feeling irritated, I get majorly depressed and cannot function for about 15 days of the month. On top of my normal depresssion and anxiety, it's been hard. It's not even like I don't want to do it, I just can't. I don't fit any of the criteria for ADHD, but in this specific issue, it's like ADHD. I don't feel extremely depressed now, but I'll do anything that's not read the textbook and put together the slides. It's like there's an invisible barrier there.
I feel like some comments are taking this too literally, like what they're doing in the moment instead of painting a picture of life in general (but that makes sense because who wants to reveal a lot about themselves on here). Overview: I'm in my early 30s, chilling at my apartment. No job - but I'm in school getting by on loans and savings (I work $20/hr jobs in summer and live meagerly - or try to). I'm talking to a new person since my last relationship ended 6 months ago. I'm feeling tense because my car needs work but I'm hopeful for the future.

The signal lights at the Austrian and German lakeside are flashing, but I already know that nasty weather is coming. My bf has gone to bed already and is snoozing in the other room. Since I had spent my day off quite gloriously unproductive, I don't feel tired yet. Uch, he yelling and boisterous laughing from next door is not getting any quieter. I just had a quick dip in our pool after walking to the store to get some canned mushrooms (no fresh around) because my husband wants mushroom chicken for dinner. Then, I decided to take a walk down to the water and wished I'd got the paddleboard out. And I walked home again and got my suit on and jumped in the pool. And I have a beer. Our guard dog is lying under the table. She's got a dream on where she's attacking something!

He's a 130lb scardy cat. š¤£ To note: I am mid move, but from an hour and a half away, and I need to work and my moving help has had covid - so it was postponed until this weekend. š¤£
Iām sitting in the kitchen nook. Itās my favorite place in the house because it has south-facing windows and weāre in the northern hemisphere. The nook is sort of like a restaurant booth and upholstered in a bright berry color. The walls are green. I just finished lunch, and in addition to my dishes, there are a couple of books Iām reading on the table, and a green marker for underlining. My partner is doing some meal prep for later. He sighs every few minutes and is sort of lost in thought. The ravens are making a racket outside, and the sun is shining through the blinds in slats. Itās pretty quiet and Iām either going to fall asleep or take a shower, and then get back to my desk and do some more work.
Having a late lunch at a small local Mexican restaurant. Carne asada taco in a flour tortilla with refried beans and rice. I also got a āagua de limĆ³nā to drink. The rice is delicious, reminds me of my grandmotherās. Procrastinating going home and getting some work done.
My desk is in front of an east facing window and now that the sun is up higher I've thrown open the curtains. The slider next to me is also wide open and I can hear and see the hummingbirds visiting the feeder. My view from here is blue sky. Normally I would tell you that I'm doing some crafts or sewing, maybe watching something streaming but today I have the opportunity to help out one of my neighbors and I'm doing what I can. Other than creating a post on a fundraiser subreddit I'm exploring social media hoping to get the word out. Back in my day we would "pass the hat" at work if someone needed help. At my age I'm slowly acclimating to a more digital world and I'm dealing with the feeling that this is (maybe) impersonal? And I've seen some really good things come from having a wider audience so I'm exploring the options. I'm also doing the most boomer thing, EVER. I'm sitting at my desk, behind my laptop, in an internal battle between distraction and studying for finals. I opened reddit because I'm tired after a long day of studying, and don't feel like starting that last slideshow. It's 10.30 pm. My desk is covered in papers and snacks, and empty glasses/plates that I have to bring downstairs. I have a friend on a google meet call cause we study together. She's hugging her cat who just sat down right on her textbook and it's making me wish I could be a cat, since they lead a quiet life of naps and food. Boyfriend is playing Red Dead Redemption on the couch across from me after his recent obsession with gun slingers (he is in the middle of the dark tower series, lol) I have my laptop open trying to create some album artwork for his new single coming out with his band. I have a few rough ideas to go off of. Thinking about getting up for some lemonade but should probably drink water since all I've had today was close to a full pot of coffee. Looking at the Christmas tree that probably needs to come down soon. Alexa is playing the Grateful Dead Sirus XM channel. Life is peaceful today and for that I am thankful.
Iām in Newfoundland, Canada. Just finished working from home and now have a lasagna in the oven. We are midway through a blizzard and weāre getting 30cm of snow. Itās not windy (very abnormal for here) so the heavy snowfall is actually kind of peaceful. I probably wonāt leave the house at all today lol, maybe tomorrow.

Sitting at my desk at work. It's both my office and a showroom. I'm listening to my boss talk to a customer while my coworker sits at the desk to my left. In front of me is a felt divider with pictures of my family pinned up. My desk is in a little cubby blocked in by bookshelves that hold books and items on display for the showroom. No one comes back here other than me, my coworker, or one of my bosses if they need us. My desk is blue but cluttered with papers and samples from our vendors. I'm taking a break between tasks but will soon have to get back to drawings and selections for my clients.
I'm in the Upper East Side in Manhattan in a gorgeous and spacious studio that belongs to some friends and who are letting me stay in while they are not in town. I'm not a rich person but any means, but I've been blessed by their friendship and generosity and right now I'm living in what I can only describe as a dream!
Love this post! Like little windows into strangers' lives. It's my second to last day of holidays, summer Saturday morning in New Zealand. Lying on bed vaping, scrolling through Reddit, trying to stretch my body which is very sore after returning back to gym. My daughter on bed by me watching cartoons and waiting for me to go and make something out of polymer clay together. But first I need to make some pizza sause for the pan pizzas we're making tonight. My partner is chilling in the lounge watching youtubes and having cuddles with our staffy and our bread loaf (cat) is digging quite extensively in her toilet. Finally a sunny day after days of crappy weather, so looking forward to an afternoon swim in the pool. I'm a little bit sad the holidays coming to an end, as it's been wonderful three weeks of hanging out with my little family and decomposing on the couch, but also am quite enthusiastic to go back to work on Monday (that won't last long for sure!).

I'm on my sofa, snuggled under my electric blanket. I really ought to go to bed but instead I'm procrastinating on Reddit. My cat is asleep on her blanket next to me. I live in an English village and it has done nothing but rain and rain and rain for weeks. The river has burst its banks, fields have become lakes and roads are closed. I feel grateful and lucky that my home isn't flooded like a lot of people in the UK right now. But on the bright side the forecast for the weekend is dry so I shall be donning my wellies and going for a walk.

I'm sitting on the second bus on my commute home from work. I get off my first bus at a subway station that has a mall at one of the exits. There's a City Ikea in that mall and sometimes I like to window shop there on my commute home š So I have a bag from ikea on the floor between my legs, a backpack on my lap, and a drink in one hand.
About to play video games. I'm technically on the clock, but I didn't get a lunch today and in less than an hour I have to run a security test for my job that will probably keep me online for another four hours, so I'm trying to squeeze an hour of "me time" in. I'm in my home office. It's decently sized, it used to be the bedroom of my landlord's child before they moved out and rented the place out. It has two desks, one for work and one for play. Two bookshelves against the wall that are sparsely populated with books and knick knacks, and boxes in another corner containing the bookshelves contents. I've been working a lot of nights and haven't felt motivated to decorate. I have various posters of different science fictions I enjoy, cat art I bought from a renaissance festival, and squidward's controversial Bold and Brash painting on my walls. There's a window in my office but all I can see is my neighbors wall roughly ten feet away. It's mostly for letting in some natural light.

I feel overwhelmed and anxious, but happy to be home.

I'm sitting on the couch in my living room. The TV is on. My laptop is on a little rolling stand in front of me. There's a huge picture window to my left, but it's a cold, gray day and not much to look at today. I'm currently unemployed, it's Friday, I'm doing laundry. The last two years of my life were overwhelmingly bad, and I'm suffering significant sadness (but not exactly depression) as a result. I should be working on some tax documents and writing thank you letters for a small nonprofit I manage as a volunteer, but I'm not feeling that today. In a few minutes, I'm going to apply for a job I do not want because I'm required to do that in order to collect unemployment benefits. My house is warm and cozy and I'm glad this is where I am right now.

I have a perfect view of the sunset out of my bedroom window this time of year and tonight it was a stunner.

I dropped by the grocery store on the way home to get some burger ingredients, but now I'm just sitting at my usual spot in front of my desk unwinding a bit and killing time until it's a decent dinner time. In typical 20-something dude fashion, yes, I am currently sitting in a racecar gaming chair. I've been trying to keep the rest of the house a little cleaner/classier, but I have been unapologetic about letting my office become my "man cave" in terms of decoration. It's by no means "complete", but I do love my desk and the little arrangement I've been putting together in this specific corner. The shelves I only just installed a couple months ago, but I absolutely love having a place to display some of my things. It's mostly just pictures of my car/motorcycle, and some souvenirs from the couple road trips I did with each of them this year, along with a few 3d prints of my DnD character and a few more pictures of friends/family. My desk is a little messy with a few snacks, assorted bits and pieces and tools for all my little projects, and a few stray pieces of paper I need to hold onto a little longer, but aren't worth properly filing away anywhere. On the left monitor is the page for a pair of motorcycle pants that I want to buy before my next trip this spring, along with the tabs for a dozen other things I want to get for the bike. Reddit and whatever I'm actively searching for in the middle. And then on the far right I always have youtube up. I cannot for the life of me stay focused on any one thing at my desk, so this is my usual arrangement 99% of the time. In the closet is my 3d printer and a bunch of tools for it, so that's out of sight. But you can see the shadow box I've been filling up with 3dBenchys (a very common test print you can run that's practically become a meme within the 3d printing community). I'm going to find a good spot for it on the wall one of these days. Behind and besides me are the mess from a project I started a couple months ago now, which is a new cage for my leopard gecko. I got a new cage for him and have been working on making a custom background, painting it, and I'm currently on one of the final steps of applying a sealant to it... It's just taking a long time. I *really* want to get that last coat applied this weekend so it can be fully dry by next weekend, so I can finally get him moved in. The two small bookshelves are basically just messes. They collect stuff that doesn't have a more proper home yet... That's still part of the work-in-progress. Overall, it's a little messy and still a work-in-progress, but my office is very *me*. It feels a little petty or vane to be so happy about such material things, but here, I'm surrounded by all the things that I like so I find it comforting.

My husband, whose home office is right next door to mine, is taking his lunch break nap in our bed with the dog. Cat is in my office yelling at me for dinner even though we're still 2.5 hours out...I have my work and personal set up on my desk so while I work with three monitors, I have two others for reddit and Hulu/Netflix/YouTube/etc. as background noise. We sound super old but we're just two 30something DINKs enjoying the good life.

I'm sitting in my car in a parking garage in between my Monday-Friday 8-5 and my second job. On Fridays they close the office at 4:30pm and my second job starts at 5:30pm. I'm already changed so now I'm sitting in a little doom-scroll before I head over. Sometimes I go early but I don't want to today. Someone at my second job hurt my feelings (dumb I am 31F but I still feel like I'm in middle school sometimes) so I am having trouble going in. I cried about it last night. Everything in me says to let it go keep my head up. But yeah. That's what I'm doing. Back to the second job tomorrow, Saturday all day. I'm considering telling second job I'm scaling back on a project I wasn't going to be paid for ... but I have not determined that yet. I'm very boring. I'm just sitting in my home office on the farm looking out the windows at the wild turkeys pecking the snowy ground as they walk up the hill to the woods behind my house to roost for the night. I watch them all the time; they're so interesting. The size of the flock rises and falls depending on hunting season. Right now there's around 3 dozen. They come swooping down from the woods at dawn, then walk and peck over to the alfalfa fields to feed. Eventually they cross the dirt road and go into my neighbor's fields. Around dusk they cross the road again and walk and peck back here to roost for the night. They walk in groups, each group in a line. The males usually walk at the back of the lines and fuss at each other as they let the hens lead the way. Also, I'm thinking about what to cook for dinner. Do you think I can sub quinoa for pasta???
i got away from work early, got both trains soon after i got to the stations so got home before 10pm, im sat on the couch in the living room of my glasgow tenement in scotland with a cup of tea my bf made me, my cat is sleeping on the other couch he is old and sleeps a lot now. bf has headphones on and is making a tune on his synths, i can hear him rythmically push buttons. im having a wee scroll before i start to edit my current project, which is long exposure street photography ive been shooting for the last few months. bf is now making me dinner, baked fish and roast mediterranean vegetables, been on the keto diet for 3 weeks and lost half a stone over christmas, my work trousers are already loose :)

Iām sitting at my desk in my office trying to stretch a small task to finish the day. I work in procurement for a construction company and my office is a windowless room that used to be a storage closet that I share with my boss and one coworker (both male, Iām female), we all get along well and agree on living conditions so the lights are always off and the office is illuminated by our screens (we all have two huge monitors plus our laptop screen) and our desk lights. My desk is kind of cluttered because I have ADHD so I always have crap scattered everywhere but itās controlled clutter. My favorite thing on my desk is the sticky note pad from one of our suppliers that looks like a pallet of sheet rock, itās really cute. Last week it was Batman. Next week it will apparently be Nightwing. My boss is out of town so his desk is dark and empty right now but heās a former Marine so itās usually neat no matter what. His drawers are full of snacks that he eats instead of lunch because heās one of those āfirst in last out donāt call in unless youāre deadā kinda guys who shows up at 6AM and never leaves before 6PM. My coworker and I are both in our early 30s and our boss is in his late 50s so he calls us his āwork kidsā, and I steal his snacks very brazenly right off his desk because that is what kids do. Our office is stacked to the ceiling in the corners with material samples, toolboxes, ladders, brooms, and other miscellaneous crap, because even though it was renovated into an office it is still a storage closet. Weāre ok with this, it makes it cozy. It also makes it hard for people to tell when weāre there, which we like, because we have a lot of stuff to do and itās hard to do it with people busting the door down to ask you stuff. Itās Saturday morning and I just woke up. Iām in my pjās sitting at the outdoor table in our outdoor living space. I am on my phone. My husband just made me a coffee and Iām having a cigarette with it for breakfast. Itās 24Ā°c which is very cool for this time of year. Itās very breezy but the humidity is not bad considering itās overcast. There is washing hanging on our undercover line to my left and the pool filter has kicked in, so the pool to my right is bubbling away. My dogs only get up when I do, so it was quiet earlier but now the worlds most vicious chihuahuas are bouncing around near the fence line on the other side of the pool looking for anything to bark at to warn the world I am awake and they will defend me at all costs. Husband and I are discussing what to do today to squeeze some more life in to our last weekend before returning to work on Monday. We have just had the last 3 weeks off and are not looking forward to ending our lazy summer break.
Just got off work. Played a little VR. Sitting on the couch watching For All Mankind. Girlfriend just got here. So we are gonna make dinner.

Five minutes ok was in my recliner with my big orange cat on the blanket on my lap, and he would do a little annoyed chirp every time I moved a leg. But that got all messed up when the pizza arrived. š
Iām hanging out on a mattress in my living room. Mattress in living room (you ask)? My adult daughter and I have one tv. Itās in the living room. She doesnāt live here full time and Iām her mom. We like to hang out (we call them sleep overs) and we had a spare mattress and we hauled it into the living room. So what!? So while I am facing the TV (itās off and blocks the fire place), Iām also facing 3 large windows facing an open field and trees. The street is very quiet and the room is still well lit. Thatās it.

I'm in a machine shop watching my CNC lathe make a small hydraulic plunger. My machine is currently quiet, but the shop is loud, as there's a machine next to me hogging off a few inches of steel with a [face mill](https://youtu.be/HSFI17_4Yjs?si=-OhRDEMfrXFu_ekT). While that's the tool, the process is very loud. I have hearing protection on, but the "BRRRRRT" of each cut shakes your bones and vibrates the ground. The chips shoot off like little bullets and clatter against the side of the machine. My lathe is making a barely audible hiss with every pass. Every few seconds, it stops for me to check the part. Because I'm only making one of these, and some dimensions need to be within 0.0005 inches, I have to check it, make a tiny adjustment and then take another cut. Visually, the part is smaller than my thumb and shiny steel, while most of the rest of this machine is scraped up paint and dented sheet metal, reminders of past mistakes. Despite its look, it can still hold 0.0002" tolerances once you get it dialed in.
It's 38Ā° F outside and the sun has mostly set. I'm sitting on the couch in the living room of our little farm style house out in the country. The only light is coming from the muted TV on the wall playing a random sitcom. My daughter (3) is snoozing peacefully in my lap, with her head on my chest. We're all bundled up. I'm browsing Reddit while I let her slip into a deeper sleep, so that I can successfully carry her to bed without waking her. The living room is cluttered. Toys and stuff everywhere. I haven't had time to clean yet today. It's quiet, and every once in awhile, I hear cars driving down the road, or a train rumbling down the tracks, cows mooing, dogs barking. It's peaceful. When she's in bed, I plan on digging into the sundae I bought and didn't have the chance to eat lol, it's in the freezer. I'll wash my makeup off, snuggle up on the couch, eat my sundae, and either listen to an audiobook or watch some TV.

Living room of rural New Jersey home (Yes, there are RURAL parts of New Jersey and they are beautiful. I'm in the mountainous region). Heating up fish sticks for the kids before I go buy wine. Usually we make nicer dinners but my husband made ham bone and veggie soup today that well, is basically kid-repellent. I told them if they ate the little bit I gave them we could have fish sticks. Thereās a magazine dedicated to men from my state. Iām in a public park. Iām waiting for my dog to be done chewing this stick. Iāve got a staffy and she just loves sticks. She chews the sticks into shards and the shards into dust. When I get home from work, we walk. After the walk we practice commands. Then dinner for both of us. After dinner we walk. This is the after dinner walk. The park is half a mile from my house and we love it here.
