Emperor's children, dark mechanicum and the return of Perturabo.

Gauthicron

Giga based. Iron within!

Badmanntingz

I pray for this every day

Tiny_Monkey113

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't perty still around? Just sulking in a fortress or something trying to recover from a fatal wound

HexenHerz

Perty, Lorgar, Fulgrim, are all out there. Perty recently left his fortress to meet with Honsou, that's the only info we've seen on him. Lorgar is supposedly either in his fortress and/or running from Corax. I don't know about Fulgrim.

Tayark

Last I read, Fulgrim was out and about in the Imperium somewhere doing things that were annoying Abaddon.

HexenHerz

That tracks.

b3rryyy

Exactly, I'd love to see a model

Jackal209

I expect nothing and anticipate still being disappointed. The cynicism and bitterness runs deep Iron within, Iron without.

AffectionatePaint879

Weakness is a choice brother.

Rudette

Heavy Weapons team of some sort for Deathguard. Weird that they don't have havocs. Special Weapons team for CSM to fill the gap left by the Chosen redesign. "oNly WhAts in ThE BoX" has ruined our ability to field special weapons on anything. Updated Defiler model. Same crabby silhouette just updated with to reflect modern daemon engine aesthetics- more filigree, mutations, and over all daemonness. Smaller foot print or a base too. A drop pod. A psychic Dreadnought for Thousand Sons. They trick aspirants with no real potential into becoming Helbrutes, but I feel like they would try to preserve some of their more valued fallen space wizards. I like Dreadnoughts. I hate that we don't have any now. Maybe with the Dark Mek and Vashtorr there's lore potential for one. World Eaters desperately need a fast attack slot. It's dumb that they don't have bikes, raptors, or talons. Bikes are the only thing missing from the big 9th ed leak that spoiled everything, so those are coming at some point. More characters for different legions. Only Black Legion and Creations of Bile have any characters. A pipe dream, but some kind of sniper team or sneaky melee hit squad for Alpha Legion. EC has characters, but then again EC is prolly gonna be their own faction at some point. A weird idea, but one I think would be cool is an artillery unit for World Eaters, pulled by chained up shirtless Astartes who are being punished by their warlord by being denied the frontline. Should look like something off a metal cover. I doubt we'll get anything that cool though because the design philosophy is "chainweapon go brrr" It shouldn't provide overhwelming firepower. Just a supplement. Low accuracy, high damage, like an Ork Mek Gun. More there to draw people out of cover or scare them into shooting it than any sort of consistent damage. The occasional scary damage spike to make it seem more valuable than it is.

LeamHEAVY

Literally just everything I thought to say haha. Defo right on some unit choices here. GW are splitting up the chaos factions to shill us out of more money but they haven't developed the ranges enough. World Eaters release was shit imo. Literally no new units what so ever and everything was a rehash. Literally anything new here would have been cool. Fast attack is a good shout for this but they should have more options for everything. A super armoured CC dreadnought would be dope for them. The World Eater release makes me nervous for Emperors Children. Calling it now that the release will be a new Lucius model, new sculpt for noise marines and probably a cultist upgrade sprue, then one other unit and that will be it. I would really love to see more chaos characters. As a Word Bearers player its fucking annoying. Erebus, Kor Phareon, Lorgar. The ones who started the entire narrative and are all still alive today... but no model or rule representation.

Rudette

Yeah. That's a good call. And probably Fulgrim since GW is into big centerpiece models now. EC release would probably be exactly that anemic. Thousands Sons is older than World Eaters and still anemic. Death Guard has bigger range than both yet still gets more standard CSM units than both lmao why they basically said "Nah you can't have raptors anymore" is beyond me when you know every World Eaters player owns those. And an all melee army without a fast attack slot to harass or objective grab is absurd. Yeah. There are so many cool unutilized characters out there. Alpha Legions been building up a decent roster the last few years and even Night Lords has some great ones- though, most of the really cool Night Lords are dead or missing lol but nah everyone should have at least a couple with models.

LeamHEAVY

Ah yeah I had forgot that Fulgrim is still about. You're for sure right about him being the big centrepiece model. The logic of if we add more Primarchs people will forget all the faults is a recurring theme. I still shudder to imagine what the GW exec that greenlight all the Nurgle, Deathguard and even Maggotkin stuff but refuses to greenlight any other chaos units looks like. Eugan Temba working for GW in head office it seems.

AussieDothraki

Definitely agree with more fast attack options for WE. With some of those new buffs from the Blessings rules, these would be approaching White Scars/Harlequin levels of speed across the board

durock21

Hits the nail on the head.

Symbian_Curator

What do you mean we don't have any dreadnoughts? Aren't Helbrutes it?

Rudette

Kind of like a budget Dread. They are smaller. They are the "but we have a dreadnought at home" of dreads lol A Helbrute is a slavering lunatic barely more sentient than a chaos spawn fused unwillingly into a psuedo-daemongeine kind of contraption as a punishment or out of a need for produce on. They are a budget Dreads and statistically weaker than Imperialist dreads. An actual Dreadought is interred when a chapter or warband wants to keep someone important who is fatally wounded. Some of them end up becoming ancient warriors that can provide sage advice but usually end up going insane from centuries worth of time displacement, isolation, and sensory depravation. CSM resorts to Helbrutes because they don't have the Imperial infrastructure to produce Dreads anymore. But with Vashtor around maybe that could change. And CSM are evil, but even they value their retinue and battle brothers to an extent. Or you could end up with Emperor/Darth Vader situations where the Dreadnought is as much as a life support system as it is a prison.

Symbian_Curator

Helbrutes are on par with the regular box dreadnoughts. The problem is that loyalists got the big redemptors and whatnot, but then again we have various daemon engines they don't. Though I agree there should be at least _some_ sane chaos dreadnoughts from a long time ago. Not many, but some.

Cease_one

New terminator lord. The current ones great, but definitely dated. Updated bikes. The old ones are definitely showing their age and man I just can’t buy them. I know specific legions aren’t going rules anymore, but I hope a detachment really fits the Alpha Legion. I like my ambushing bolter marines, and they had some of the funnest stratagems for messing with people. Also an enhancement for a chaos lord to get a great bolt weapon/sniper. Daemon prince gets a bolt weapon like his model has.

Urungulu

They were saying that Warp Bolter will get rules, assembled my DP with it, so fingers crossed!

Cease_one

Sick. I’ve always liked bolters and that even CSM still revere them, it’d only make sense princes would likely have it be a part of them.

Urungulu

It’s even funnier that some boxes with DP had that rule inlet for a Warp Bolter and some didn’t 😂 individual box or that Slaves to Darkness had it, Balefleet Battleforce does not (at least mine didn’t have it). It’s something similar to Talon of Horus shooting profile on Abaddon.

Cease_one

I’m just excited it’ll actually be a weapon in 10th.

Urungulu

Me too, mate! 🤩

Whackamole43

I want a range update for the night lords. Iv thought they look cool as hell for a while now in lore and want them to reflect that in 40k

StorminMike2000

Jump Pack characters to party-up with Raptors and WTs.

NurglesGiftToWomen

Updated raptors/warptalons would be cool

Gauthicron

Honestly as an Iron Warriors simp I’d really like to see a Breacher-type unit like from the Iron Within animation. Complete with riot shields and shotguns. A character from IW like Honsou or a brand new named character would be nice. I’m not so bold as to hope Perturabo shows up though lol. Beyond that I’d really like Vashtorr to have an actually decent ruleset, and for both Huron Blackheart and Lucius to get updated models. MORE CHARACTERS!! As for armies, I think EC is very likely, but I also hope a sort of “Lost and the Damned” mortal chaos army that has both dark mechanicum and traitor guard options.

IamAlpharius81

I want Jump Packs back for characters. Chaos Lord and Sorcerer jump packs at least. it was ridiculous they took those away to begin with.

Ptolomekh

Same thing been wishing since the model came out. Helbrutes shake the last vestige of the chaos Dreadnoughts they've been saddled with, and finally become their own thing: daemon possessed Dreadnoughts, driven mad by the constant conflict for control between marine and daemon. It's not a daemon engine, as it shares more in common with possessed and (especially) obliterators. Rules wise, keep it basically the same but give it the daemon keywords, and whatever the saves they get now. Having a daemon save or whatever they will get in 10th would go a long way for survivability. They aren't daemon engine, so don't get those keywords or abilities. Hell, let them be marked and take an icon. They aren't fucking Chaos Dreadnoughts anymore, so stop treating them like they still are.

SouthLoop_Sunday

Didn't know I wanted this until now.

Ptolomekh

I know, right? I've been asking this myself since Dark Vengeance. The model is more flesh than dread, the one that came in the DV box is a bare headed Marine fused with the flesh around it. Once they came out with the new Obliterators, I was pretty amazed that they share almost the exact aesthetics as the helbrute. And now the Possessed almost do as well. But yet, with all that awesome design, the rules are still the same as the same chaos dreadnaught we've had since forever... It boggles my mind...

Gaelriarch

I just want my collection to remain relevant and effective tbh.

TheCrimsonJacko

Defo emperor’s children. Probably an expansion to the World Eaters range. Hopefully Dark Mechanicum. Dreaming for traitor guard rules support

KryptikRVR

Daemon pals dwtatchment when we get the codex would be great

Urungulu

You will be able to - the Daemons’ reveal showed you can include a certain amount of points of Daemons in other armies if you have the „Chaos” keyword. 250, 500, 750 pts, depending on battle size :D

DarthMaren

Multipart chaos lord/sorcerer with jumpack

Tayark

More parity with SM in terms of available unit selections. There should be a similar roster of available character ranks with the depth of war gear selections. There should be, in my fluffy lore-based opinion, HH based troop, elite, fast attack, heavy support and transport options with the layered demonification of those units and then the thematic filtering of those choices based on legion/sub-faction etc. I understand that the general chaotic nature of the warp and the general warband structure of CSM does away with the more structured approach of SM but it shouldn't vanish entirely. CSM is supposed to be the dark-mirror and not the shadow of SM. I'm not suggesting Primaris, absolutely not. In fact, Primaris are the SM light-mirror to the demonification of CSM. It's fitting that this be where the line is drawn. Thinking along those same lines, allies. If ever there was an army that should open up the freedom for allied forces, it should be the forces of Chaos. It should be something looked favourable upon even if not openly encouraged. It's great for business too. It shouldn't be a blanket offer of anything from the Demon, Dark Mechanicum or Traitor Guard codex's (that we're so totally going to get, right?) but there should be an available selection of units from each that can be brought in. More so for forces such as Word Bearers, Death Guard, Thousand Sons, World Eaters and Emperors Children when it comes to Demons. Maybe the same idea for Iron Warriors and the Dark Mechanicum, Alpha Legion and Traitor Guard. It would be harder to balance, internally and externally, but it would be fun and extremely cool. I hate the 'you get what's in the box and that's it' approach to CSM wargear. I'd rather have multi-part kits to select that for myself. Even if the models are only head, backpack and weapon swappable. Just give me the options. I'd also like the HH upgrade weapon loadout sprues to come to 40K. Give me the chance to have 4x??? in a havoc squad etc without scavenging for parts, using bits websites or buying the kit 4 times (which I'm never going to do let alone be able to justify and afford). Sticking with models, updates to so much of the line but especially some vehicles and demon-engines. A genuine expansion of the options and the range would also be great. Jump-pack characters. Bike riding characters. Characters on demon-steads. More mobility options. Better and more Dreadnaught options with sub-factions kit bits. If they're going to include sub-factions, actually give us the options to build that force on the table-top. There are sprue upgrades for multiple SM factions, it would be cool for Red Corsairs, Night Lords, Word Bearers, Iron Warriors and Alpha Legion, especially but not limited to, to get the same treatment. Dark Mechanicus. Traitor Guard. Better internal balance. I know that a meta will always develop based on local players, the current season etc. but some choices are always just plain bad for an entire edition. Models with less stuff going on. They all look great, the look and theme of the newer stuff is great but they're hell to paint at times. Also less skin piercing spikes on small bits that need to be glued on - looking at you Warp Talon kit.

KultofEnnui

What, the codex? I'll take it as it comes. At the moment I'm looking forward to taking countless cultists and spamming prayers to Turbo-Satan every turn, handing off live sacrifices like it were a business.

AlexArgrok

I hoped for a better implementation of daemon soup and they delivered. No need to make a detatchment only for them

Prestigious_Spite552

Drop pods. And each legion getting a unique or upgraded unit type. Nightlords get buffed raptors, iron warriors have improved havocs etc. Use of the HH stuff that imperial get that we don't for some dumb reason.

DakkenDakka

For the mono-god legions to be able take some basic CSM units but with the Mark pre-attached. It seems strange to me that the Death Guard can't take "new recruit" legionaries that are dedicated to nurgle but haven't been blessed and turned to Plague Marines. Not sure how it would work with Thousand Sons though with Rubric Marines so that may be the exception.

Hedgewee

Seen a lot of model hopes but not many rules dreams. Love a lot about the current CSM rules. Currently chaos marks are more interesting and flavourful than ever before. I especially like how they unlock themed psychic powers and daemon weapon relics. Seeing as both of these are leaving in 10th I’m hoping GW can still find a way to make the marks feel different, meaningful, and flavourful like they currently are. Also really enjoying having free war gear on legionaries. Means you can have fun mixing a matching with all the cool options they can have. Very unlikely to remain free but I’m hoping they keep everything cheep so we can still bring all the fun toys. Heavy chain axe go brrrr.

AshleyRiot1990

\- Huron \- New Bikers, possibly with a more "reaver / feral" look (pelts, chains, etc...) \- New proper Defiler kit For the rest I am really happy for our army look and models. I also have hopes for a Breachers kit, a third Obliterator sculpt, etc... but I can't see them coming

Legataux

I hoped legionnaires could simultaneously use boltguns and chainswords, but I guess bolter legionnaires are a hybrid unit in melee and range. Their fist hit as hard as bolters anyways. I also hope legionnaires are cheap enough that I could spam them. I love regular legionnaires.

acovarru91

Me too. That's honestly my dream. I want a bunch of Legionaries ready to go backed up by a few more of the elites and supported by the Dark Apostle and Sorcerer. Bring some Possessed and Terminators along for the ride.

2_HappyBananas

Lol you guys... You're not gonna get NL models, they're not popular enough. There won't be Dark Mechanicum, just more primaris lieutenant models. Emperor's Children get a book, but it probably looks like World Eaters and has hardly any models. Let's pray for more realistic blessings, like new bikers or an updated Defiler (and maybe good rules for it?)

ZukosTeaShop

Pipe Dream: mounts for characters. Juggernaut, disc, steed of slaanesh, nurgling maggot, heldrake, helstalker, bike, etc. make it an option to slap a unit on mounts as a points cost upgrade equal to the cost of the mount being used. Imagine a unit of chosen costing 500+ points riding heldrakes into battle, or a unjt of havocs with missile launchers on discs of tzeentch . Base CSM: improve Daemon Engine integration into the army and in general access to dedicated heavy and special weapons. Expand on lost and damned a tiny bit more with one elites and one heavy support choice. Jump packs. Make Vashtorr good Death Guard: add a deepstrike transport themed after a maggot or burrowing parasite that mimics a Terrax assault drill Tsons: psi dread and make changehorde army of renown truly integrated with the rest of the army. Unique daemon engine World Eaters: Khornate Guard artillery support, unique daemon engine Emp Kids: exist as an actual army, be big on characters injecting drugs to themselves or other units. Lean heavily into the rock and roll or emo aesthetic Daemons: undivided suppport and new non character unit Knights: ability to mutate your warlord knight mid battle to give it a second phase

[deleted]

More non-CSM Imperium Nihilis stuff.

Marionettetctc

Full lost and the damned codex

Cypher10110

Any continuing support for a chaos mortals focussed army would be great. Considering where we started in 9th ed with basically just cultists, BSF models and legends rules for OOP stuff. It was a pleasant surprise to see more mortals available in the 9th ed codex and the blooded killteam. Shame they kneecapped our ability to actually include them in an army, tho. The Eye of Terror codex is where I first started my Chaos army. It would be cool to be able to revisit that in modern 40k!

TsNMouse

A drop pod. Defiler update - I’d accept a new model, but I’m hoping it gets a better start Line and maybe acts as an indirect fire platform for chaos. With the ability to defend itself in melee. Some sort of chaos apothecary.

litcanuk

New noise marines even though I don't need them, juggernaught cavalry, some new God specific Deamon engines for slaanesh and tzeentch and some updated plastic kits for current forgeworld resin deamon engines like the decimator, blood slaughterer of khorne.

totarias

Emperors children and fulgrim so I can have all 4 of the main traitor legions, and a second wave of world eater stuff, jump packs, unique terminators, bikes, juggernauts, generic lord of foot

We1shDave

Chaos knights getting atlest some defence in Mellee

Urungulu

Anti-tank. I’m pretty sure our Land Raider gonna look exactly as the loyalist one, but not sure about the rest. High hopes for viable Daemon Engines, most notably Forgefiends, got 2 on sprues and would love them to be viable. Third thing - I’d love to see some cool Terminator/Chosen loadouts and not sure if we’ll get a generic „Combi-weapon” like the Termie Lib (which wouldn’t be bad), or something kore dedicated. Wouldn’t be sad to get more Chainfist options for a nice Termie bubble!

requieminfernal

Emperors children codex I’ve been waiting almost 30 years hopefully this edition it will come. (Unlike the previous 8 since I started playing!)

Shiki_31

Emperor's Children, BIKES and maybe a new type of daemon engine (or a less stiff Defiler). Huron might as well get an updated model too. Of course, we are lucky if we get *any* of those.

Classic-Tiny

I hope my Death Guard gets better. Noxious Blightbringer needs a rework badly. Love that bellbitch.

Icy_Community2294

Emperors children!!!

Ad0lf_Salzler

Autogun Cultist kit would be neat.

MalfuriousPete

Speed for CSM to get into close combat.. Or at least have some decent shooting to compensate

Vampyrslayr

Omegon or Alpharius (whomever truly lives) A solo master of possession model More special / heavy weapons in the boxes( so you don't have to buy a crap ton to get what you want) Oh....and because it needs to be said based on gws want to keep making dumbass units> NO F*$#@×G PRIMARIS EQ!

Altruistic-Teach5899

All the cultist units finally released from their codexes to end up in a new army, the Vashtorr codex, that ends up being the new Renegades & Heretics army with new Darkmech stuff, and some generic tanks from either the CSM codex and the Astra Militarum.

Ectavius

At least 2 HQ for every legions, a generic one and a named one (just like Invocatus) Some fantasies for the legion choice. (trait, stratagem...) Custom warband...

Gorgeous_goat

a plastic noise marine upgrade kit

Finnrulf

I just want new chaos bikes
