Try scribbling over it with a dry erase marker, and then just wiping it off.
This works on permanent marker, so I'd guess that it would work with this marker, too.
or dry white board cleaner, in the little spray bottle, probably mostly alcohol but very good at cleaning stubborn dry erase off of a whiteboard, I would assume a mirror would be even easier.
Hand sanitizer can also work. I’m not sure how good it is for the whiteboard’s longevity but it does remove the writing even if it’s been let on for a while.
Usually, if you use the same chemical that keeps the ink wet, it'll rehydrate the pigment so you can wipe it off. This is based on anecdotal evidence.
In this case, dry erase markers tend to use alcohol.
Try it, it absolutely works. Even on sharpie! I use sharpy to note things on my fish tanks and I always use rubbing alcohol or dry erase pen to get it off the glass.
Explain. Because I I live with a grown woman who has this horrible tendency of dying things no where near her hairline when she colors her hair. She’s the worst. Let’s not even mention till what she does to the vanity.
Me. I’m that woman. Heeelp
😂😂 yeah just take some leftover color put some on scrub it a bit n wipe it off 🤷🏻♀️ I can only verify from experience this has worked on skin, I have no idea if it works anywhere else. It also doesn’t work on hair so stay away from those brows!🤪
Thank you. if you catch it fast enough hand sanitizer works on countertops. It's those an hour later streaks on the counter "BUT I DIDN"T EVEN TOUCH IT THERE" that are awful. And clearly, since its my actual fingerprint...I most certainly did touch it there. I'm a menace.
I'm also that woman.
I swear by using my mom's makeup wipes--a little scrub usually takes it right off the vanity if it hasn't sat too long.
They're Neutrogena something or other.
I think when I'm getting it on the counter it hasn't turned dark yet. so after processing when I see it I'm "oh, crap." I use those wipes, I think I have the grapefruit flavor. So my counters will be peppy and with a note of citrus. I should take them and do a full wipe down right after I finish my head, even if I see nothing. Thanks for the tip.
Oh mylanta. I just had the most ridiculous idea--why don't we try coating our sinks and counters and whatnot with Vaseline/conditioner/something else to see if we can keep the dye from making contact?
I have a few bottles of dye I picked up on sale. I might get bored enough today to try this. Of course, I'm going to Google it after I finish this comment only to learn that it's been a huge hack forever, of course.
Girl I’ve dyed my white counter more times than I can count lol, barkeepers friend or some comet and one of those thin green scrubbies always saves me!
I left a fingerprint mark on an acrylic board because I was using the prestick wipes that has some glue contents on it. 3 years later my fingerprint is still there.
If you tried makeup remover on your skin to try and remove dye (and didn’t get great results), try windex.. it sounds crazy but it works like a hot damn. If you have skin sensitivity maybe try some windex not on your face first.. also nail polish remover works sometimes on other surfaces that my dye splashes onto.
Noxema acne pads, they can dry out the skin but great for removing dye especially around the hairline/ ears. I have also used them to remove recent drops on counter/ tile.
This does not feel true (tbf I've never dyed my hair in my life and know literally* nothing!) *in the actual sense of the word!
ETA: OMG is this what men feel like when they comment on posts where they have no authority? 🤣
>ETA: OMG is this what men feel like when they comment on posts where they have no authority? 🤣
Do you feel it yet?
The sense of rising power coursing through your veins? The sense of accomplishment for simply having spoken?
FEEL THE POWER
TASTE THE POWER
RULE THE WORLD!
There is a product made specifically for removing dye from skin. I don't recall the name but it looks like a cylindrical container of wet wipes but is black with a colorful label.
It sounds soooo weird, but it works across quite a few worlds.
I was trying to clean dried on grease off the stove in my apartment when I first moved in, Google suggested putting fresh oil on top of the dried stuff; it all wiped up without hassle after that. Made my life a lot easier.
After "I messed up your sandwich," I was laughing too hard when it turned into a salad, and there's no small containers 😂 let's read the Bible 😂🤣 so much happening.
I use hand sanitizer to get ink and permanent marker off the counters at work. Definitely works on faux wood veneer and formica. No need to scrub, just smear some hand sanitizer on and wipe with tissue or paper towel.
I love it haha. Looks indeed a bit satanic when you walk around at work rubbing your hands together like you're planning to raise hell with your satanic plan making
Yep, fantastic suggestion. I think literally just hand sanitiser will do the trick. I worked as a cleaner and had to do this often on many things (laminated sheets, plastics, glass, tiles etc) and I am yet to find a pen mark that *cannot* be removed by hand sanitiser.
I found its best to apply liberally and leave it to soak for about 60seconds. It will dissolve the ink into the gel and wipes clean in one wipe. Actually very satisfying. Perhaps she has given you the *gift* of cleaning it off 😂🤪
Ok before you start using acetone and razor blades on your mirror, just try a wet towel. It looks like the damp one at least started dissolving the ink.
If that doesn’t work, go for rubbing alcohol next. It won’t hurt your mirror.
You could try windex too.
My husband and I would leave cute little notes on our bathroom mirror. Not like this... Although one time he did add to his cute note that the cat got into and ate an entire bag of treats.
I'm a teacher (experienced in whiteboard pen incidents).
The people saying hand sanitiser and rubbing alcohol are bang on. Its what I clean down my boards with when they get grubby or I forgot to wipe them off before the holidays.
Also a teacher! Be careful using rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer too frequently, it strips the "wipeable" coating off the whiteboards. The same goes for disinfecting wipes. You'll eventually end up with a board that smears instead of erases. If that happens, you need to spray WD-40 all over the board, rub it in really well, then clean off the excess with whiteboard cleaner.
If permanent marker gets on the whiteboard, I suggest using the EXPO trick. Color over the mark with an EXPO whiteboard marker and erase, repeat as needed. Works like a charm!
are all bible people teetotalers? I'm not sure, as I'm not a bible person, but my vague childhood memories of my parent's churchy friends indicate not. :)
I didn't even read the mirror! Eeeek!
I guess it depends, lol. I was raised Catholic, so it was booze booze booze a lot of the time. But my Dad's people were Baptists and not once in 25 years did I ever see a single drop of alcohol in that home.
I wipe with dry paper towel first to get the bulk of the ink off. Then I use alcohol. Works perfectly, it’s cheap, and works. Plus even after you think you got it all, go over again in a few days, you’ll be amazed what it picks up.
Rubbing alcohol removes erasable markers. Don’t go the long way around by using something like hand sanitizer or vodka that just contains the stuff. That’s all you’ll need.
Alcohol 70-90%, goo gone, WD-40. If you have any of those, they may do the trick. Depends on what’s easiest to source. Melamine Sponge used gently should also remove this. Baby wipes? Weirdly, those remove a lot of things, including dried paint off of glass and metal.
I have cleaned so many hardcore messes with wipes, I am not sure how something like that is safe for baby butts.
How can it remove dried paint, and not remove baby butt skin? Magic. Very odd magic.
I agree with the others, have you tried a wet towel or sponge? All my teachers and professors used wet erase markers forever until technology finally took over. But I remember having both use and help clean all the plastic work sheets and everything. They needed a lot of water, even a little soap to get them super clean.
50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water.
This will clean a lot of glass messes, but strips the glass back to its original state. You’ll need to reapply any fog or rain coatings you might have especially on auto glass.
Window and other spray “cleaners” you can think of like a polish. It doesn’t usually clean very well.
https://preview.redd.it/sobqgeb6e9zc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=974696421a21be984fd42a6e72c82c3dd2863a50
This stuff works wonders. Use it on our dry erase board at work. And if that doesn’t work, try a divorce. That should keep it off of there permanently.
Just mix some isopropyl alcohol with water. The wet erase mix is generally 5-10%, but you can also mix it stronger. The mirror is just glass, so you won't damage it.
Try scribbling over it with a dry erase marker, and then just wiping it off. This works on permanent marker, so I'd guess that it would work with this marker, too.
Sounds 100% crazy but totally works! First time I ever did it , I was shocked.
It's the alcohol in the dry erase marker. Just use rubbing alcohol
Yep. I second this
If you don’t have any alcohol for cleaning try shaving cream, It’s alcohol based usually
Or the stuff for sanitizing hands. Ive learned its also good to get off cigarette stains from most stuff very easy.
or dry white board cleaner, in the little spray bottle, probably mostly alcohol but very good at cleaning stubborn dry erase off of a whiteboard, I would assume a mirror would be even easier.

That takes all the fun out of scribbling.
Or aftershave/cologne
Tall Boy
Rubbing alcohol mixed with water in a spray bottle.
Usually, if you use the same chemical that keeps the ink wet, it'll rehydrate the pigment so you can wipe it off. This is based on anecdotal evidence. In this case, dry erase markers tend to use alcohol.
Its the alcohol. Using isopropyl will do the same thing
Now I want to do it but I’ll restrain myself.
Try it, it absolutely works. Even on sharpie! I use sharpy to note things on my fish tanks and I always use rubbing alcohol or dry erase pen to get it off the glass.
Like dissolves like, works with paint too.
In cosmetology school the first thing they teach you about color is “color removes color” (only from skin) I thought it was nutty then I tried it
Explain. Because I I live with a grown woman who has this horrible tendency of dying things no where near her hairline when she colors her hair. She’s the worst. Let’s not even mention till what she does to the vanity. Me. I’m that woman. Heeelp

If I didn’t have cats I’d say yes. I’m going to try and make a cling wrap cover next time. Though if I keep it up it will look like a design pattern
i don't know about permanent colors, but makeup wipes work a treat on direct dyes that have gotten on your skin too! (part of the club, clearly)
Girl I’ve dyed my white counter more times than I can count lol, barkeepers friend or some comet and one of those thin green scrubbies always saves me!
I left a fingerprint mark on an acrylic board because I was using the prestick wipes that has some glue contents on it. 3 years later my fingerprint is still there.
sweet, a whole new realm I haven't experienced where I could ruin things.
hairspray will remove hair dye from most surfaces. source: had pink hair for 30 years, am clumsy.
Love it! Still have pink? My bff has pink.
I’m the problem it’s me 😅
If you tried makeup remover on your skin to try and remove dye (and didn’t get great results), try windex.. it sounds crazy but it works like a hot damn. If you have skin sensitivity maybe try some windex not on your face first.. also nail polish remover works sometimes on other surfaces that my dye splashes onto.
I did try makeup remover/mycelier water. I will absolutely try windex. All the Greeks can't be wrong.
💀💀💀
Noxema acne pads, they can dry out the skin but great for removing dye especially around the hairline/ ears. I have also used them to remove recent drops on counter/ tile.
I haven't seen those in years. I didn't know they still made them, I'll look at the store. TY
Yess!! I get them at Walmart, other brands should work but I don't like the ones that are super liquidy or foamy lol.
A damp cloth and Dawn dish soap work pretty well to clean up hair dye.
wait so if i get hair dye on my face or hands… it can come off more easily if i put more dye on it?
Yes!
This does not feel true (tbf I've never dyed my hair in my life and know literally* nothing!) *in the actual sense of the word! ETA: OMG is this what men feel like when they comment on posts where they have no authority? 🤣

I mean, I drank an 11% abv beer and followed it up with a 13% abv beer... So yeah. Perhaps! 🤣
Inks are wet because they are suspended in something they dissolve in, aka a compatible solvent. Makes sense.
There is a product made specifically for removing dye from skin. I don't recall the name but it looks like a cylindrical container of wet wipes but is black with a colorful label.
I’m thinking it’s the developer in it. I can usually get staining off my forehead with dandruff shampoo
I was coming to say the same- they teach "like removes like" - and it does work!
It sounds soooo weird, but it works across quite a few worlds. I was trying to clean dried on grease off the stove in my apartment when I first moved in, Google suggested putting fresh oil on top of the dried stuff; it all wiped up without hassle after that. Made my life a lot easier.
Rubbing alcohol or vinegar didn't work?
Second this. When someone writes on a wipe board with permanent marker at my work, we wipe it off with alcohol wipes
Also hand sanitizer
Works because it's 70% alcohol
Agree with rubbing alcohol. It's a solid go to for removing any marker.
💯 Rubbing Alcohol
"let's read the bible when you get back from work"
After "I messed up your sandwich," I was laughing too hard when it turned into a salad, and there's no small containers 😂 let's read the Bible 😂🤣 so much happening.
That’s code 💦
Take me to church! Or however that song goes
I’m assuming that’s a Smosh reference
but instead he has to clean this mirror
“Let’s not and say we did.”
It says lets read the _____ bible 🤨🤫
Do couples really read the Bible together in a non-church setting? Even when I was Christian, I'd never known someone who'd do that.
Try hand sanitizer!
I use hand sanitizer to get ink and permanent marker off the counters at work. Definitely works on faux wood veneer and formica. No need to scrub, just smear some hand sanitizer on and wipe with tissue or paper towel.
Don’t use hand satanizer though or you’re in for some Evil Dead 2 bad times.
>hand satanizer 🤔
I love it haha. Looks indeed a bit satanic when you walk around at work rubbing your hands together like you're planning to raise hell with your satanic plan making
Groovy.
Windex or window wipes also work, they've got a bit of alcohol in them
Yep, fantastic suggestion. I think literally just hand sanitiser will do the trick. I worked as a cleaner and had to do this often on many things (laminated sheets, plastics, glass, tiles etc) and I am yet to find a pen mark that *cannot* be removed by hand sanitiser. Did Windex not work?
Windex should work! Gets it off the dry erase board just fine.
Windex was not tried
“I’ve tried one thing that isn’t how anyone cleans this kind of marker OR this kind of surface, and I’m all out of ideas!”
“Yahoo answers isn’t loading fast enough, better hop on Reddit!”
He tried water... how many more options could there be?!
I tried using the flash from my camera to take off this dry erase and it didn't work!!! Help!!!
Hopefully OP learned some tips. Never seen someone stop after just trying water to clean before 😅. Especially mirror/glass
Fiancée is the feminine version but the accent is in the first e. I would use alcohol on a washcloth/paper towel
Maybe skip the Bible tonight and read the warning label on that sharpie she used.
You’re asking Reddit before trying soap or cleaner? Lol
I’ve tried nothing and I’m all out of ideas!
I chuckled.
I tried water!!! what else is there?????
Water? Like out the toilet? Brawndo’s got what dried on dry erase marker craves!
I laughed too hard at this.
I cant imagine being this helpless
Right? I can only imagine they wanted to show it off for whatever reason
That’s why they need someone to make their sandwich and they couldn’t even do that correct at that LOL
We all on that learned helplessness grind 💪
As if the resources aren't online lol
Or an online search....
Rubbing alcohol
I second this
IVE TRIED NOTHING IM ALL OUT OF IDEAS!!!

acetone on glass is fine.
Yip. And conveniently in most nail polish remover.
Get your fiancé top chalk
fiancée
Was the sandwich edible tho?
Ate it a couple hours ago and it was very edible :)
Lots of people thinking the bible comment is serious.. y’all are so innocent! That’s code for sexy times
Ooooooh ok but genuine question, why use code in this context?
“hi fiance i made u sandwich…. let’s have intercourse tonight around 9pm after you work😈😈😈😈” just doesn’t feel as sneaky
Who tf leaves notes like this lmao
About reading the bible too 💀😭
Yeah that makes me think this is set up
My husband and I would leave cute little notes on our bathroom mirror. Not like this... Although one time he did add to his cute note that the cat got into and ate an entire bag of treats.
is this permanent marker?? Perhaps she wants to keep it there til the end of time
You can get glass crayons to write on mirrors. I used to write myself inspirational messages, but lost motivation 😂
I’m really not trying to be mean but sometimes people just aren’t that smart. They likely weren’t thinking about the fact this couldn’t be rubbed off.
What kind of bible does she want to read?
I had to scroll way too far to read this haha why isn't anyone speaking about the note? "is that how you see it?", "read the bible"
I initially saw "see" as well but I think it might be "spell"?
Pee on it to establish dominance then wipe off. Easy peasy.
I'm a teacher (experienced in whiteboard pen incidents). The people saying hand sanitiser and rubbing alcohol are bang on. Its what I clean down my boards with when they get grubby or I forgot to wipe them off before the holidays.

Antibacterial wipes ruined the boards. Alcohol and hand sanitiser didn't. I've used it on mine since lockdown, and they're still fine.
vodka. not joking. works like a charm
Why waste the vodka. Use rubbing alcohol, it’s much cheaper.
Depends on the vodka, but yeah. ;)
True, It's much more palatable to clean with Smirnoff than Ketel One, but it literally only takes like a teaspoon on a cloth.
She wants them to read the Bible together when they get home from work. Vodka may not be an option.
are all bible people teetotalers? I'm not sure, as I'm not a bible person, but my vague childhood memories of my parent's churchy friends indicate not. :) I didn't even read the mirror! Eeeek!
I guess it depends, lol. I was raised Catholic, so it was booze booze booze a lot of the time. But my Dad's people were Baptists and not once in 25 years did I ever see a single drop of alcohol in that home.
Try texting instead
She used to do post-it notes so I think I’ll try to get her back on those.
They make window markers that wipe off easily (especially with Windex) if she's heartset on writing on the mirror.
Throw a brick at it, ur welcome
Nail polish remover or acetone if you can get straight acetone. We use it on glass to remove all kinds of markers
I am thinking this is a permanent marker thing and yes, acetone should work.
Color over it with a dry erase marker
Alcohol removes ink. It binds or something. If you don’t have alcohol try something with alcohol like sanitizer or hairspray. Or just go buy some.
dissolution, not adhesion.
I wipe with dry paper towel first to get the bulk of the ink off. Then I use alcohol. Works perfectly, it’s cheap, and works. Plus even after you think you got it all, go over again in a few days, you’ll be amazed what it picks up.
What kinda crazy is this?
Get a new fiance
Surgical Alcohol or Acetone. I also heard w40 erases pen inks.
Howwww are the comments not about the note but actually about cleaning? 💀💀

Have you tried throwing out the fiance?
Label remover works a treat.
Rubbing alcohol removes erasable markers. Don’t go the long way around by using something like hand sanitizer or vodka that just contains the stuff. That’s all you’ll need.
I'd recommend alcohol. I sketch on my office windows and alcohol usually does the trick.
Try using hand sanitizer as cleaner. Use an old rag to wipe it off.
They sell whiteboard cleaner. I believe that would work on this. Then windex
WD-40 and a magic eraser should work.
Magic eraser dry or wet will work
Is "Let's read the Bible when you get back from work" some sort of code for...nvm.
Smash mirror, clean it then simply glue back together but you get 7 years bad luck
You could make this 10x creepier by changing the blue to red to look like blood
Windex, water isn’t going to get this off. What do you use normally to clean the mirrors?
Hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol If that doesn’t work, nail polish remover
Hairspray works, the cheaper the better
Strangely enough I was still in the orbit of being on board until "Let's read the Bible when you get back from work."
And read the Bible with the lady
I'm still confused how a wet erase marker did this? I use one all the time on plastic, acrylic and glass no problems
Wait what’s wet erase?
Alcohol 70-90%, goo gone, WD-40. If you have any of those, they may do the trick. Depends on what’s easiest to source. Melamine Sponge used gently should also remove this. Baby wipes? Weirdly, those remove a lot of things, including dried paint off of glass and metal.
Baby wipes are legit.
I have cleaned so many hardcore messes with wipes, I am not sure how something like that is safe for baby butts. How can it remove dried paint, and not remove baby butt skin? Magic. Very odd magic.
Great for cleaning shoes, I questioned the same thing! Told my wife whatever is in here needs to be in a spray bottle.
I agree with the others, have you tried a wet towel or sponge? All my teachers and professors used wet erase markers forever until technology finally took over. But I remember having both use and help clean all the plastic work sheets and everything. They needed a lot of water, even a little soap to get them super clean.
A baby wipe. Baby wipes clean everything.

You’ll need to reapply any fog or rain coatings you might have especially on auto glass. Window and other spray “cleaners” you can think of like a polish. It doesn’t usually clean very well.
Rubbing alcohol
Before anything chemical, I would try using a regular pencil eraser. It works on whiteboards.
Deodorant make sure it's property deodorant are not antipersprint though
Rubbing alcohol.

Alcohol or literally any glass/ window cleaner
Fingernail polish remover
Window cleaner? Did you only try water?
Anything alcohol or solvent based should take it off
Isopropyl alcohol
Just mix some isopropyl alcohol with water. The wet erase mix is generally 5-10%, but you can also mix it stronger. The mirror is just glass, so you won't damage it.
Assuming the “read the Bible” is a smosh meme but could be wrong
I just use windex, namebrand or not. Dry erase comes off easily, permanent you scrub a little bit.
Bruh. It’s dry erase lol did you try anything at all before posting?
Rubbing alcohol
Rubbing alcohol
Rubbing alcohol and a microfiber does the trick!
