Try Seek for casual roles with an agency. The govt probably won't recruit direct at short notice. Good luck, stay safe, get vaxxed, amd thanks for doing your part!

Look for positions in Public Health Unit on NSW Health website

[NSW Health jobs](https://jobs.health.nsw.gov.au/jobs/search/27496204/page3) lists some EOIs. It's not data science money. It's barely Policy Officer money, and it's casual.

Thanks mate, looks like it is allied health staff only & have to be working in St Leonard's office.

auauaurora

That's another issue. I want to get astra because my current contract ends 1 September and figure they'll make it compulsory. Was thinking of starting a data science course but income first...

tez_11

You may be outta luck as I believe contact tracers need to be allied health staff. There may be some exceptions to this though for example ADF staff

whitetealily

hmm I'm Allied Health and open to WFH gigs Do we have any contact tracers here that wouldn't mind sharing what it's like? And whether it's all on-site work, or whether WFH is a possibility?

redditorxdesu

WFH not a possibility, it has to be on site at St Leonard's. Would be awesome if it was wfh so people from other states could help

They had an ad Late May/early June. It’s through an agency, office based at St Leonard’s. Two shift roster 8am -10pm from memory.

redditorxdesu

Yeah, 8am to 4pm and 2pm to 10pm

You have to be allied health qualified (AHPRA registered), mainly because of providing health advice and dealing with sensitive conversations around health, very much a patient centric role with skills like motivational interviewing required etc
