He’s not a bad head coach like Josh McDaniels who or Matt Patricia who take average teams and turn them into the worst in the league. Cowboys have had a top ranked offense since he came and when he was at Greenbay they were normally top 5. Hof QB or not it takes skill to coach winning team in the NFL. That being said the team is basically made to move on from him. If anything Jerry is good at accounting and Mike is the only coach right now on the last year of his deal. Cowboys don’t even need to fire McCarthy or Zimmer if this year is disappointing. Basically if Cowboys disappoint again then no firing needed contract is over he’s just not renewed. I always root for Cowboys but it is hard to be hopeful when the team is expected to do more this season with less. They have lost tons of veterans who still have juice while all free agents seem way past their prime.

|Both wins came vs Dallas| Lord have mercy, we are the *whole @ss* clown show....

-UTX-

This is his last season but none of it matters, next man up... Signed, a tired lifer

_make_my_day_

To be replaced with whom?

Warm-Wrap-3828

William Belichick?

Most_Tradition4212

Hopefully not . Unless a young Brady accompanied him .

BlueStarSpecial

So he’s a coach that can build a perennial playoff team and you want to get rid of him? Coach can only do so much, players gotta play.

MIW100

After reading all that, that's your final takeaway?! 🤣😅

touchingmyshoe

Nobody read all that

Dre512

What’s great about a perennial playoff coach if they can’t win the first round?

Jaybob_11

Players gotta play, but coaches gotta call better plays; he was an average coach that was carried by Aaron Rodgers. I will give him the benefit of the doubt with our O-line not being the best, resulting in a lot of sacks and short gain rushes; But like I said, coaches gotta call better plays

BlueStarSpecial

Yeah I forgot McCarthy drew up those interceptions and awful defensive schemes

Deplorable_23

He in fact did draw them up... Play action triple slant with Cooks running his under slant at the same depth as middle slant.... on top of Cooks mental mistake a slant is a quick timing route and play action throws all that off... so yea there's that

Mk72779

2014 they would have made the Super Bowl but for that botched onside kick. Hes proven he’s a good coach, albeit not a great one, but he’s saddled with a poor performing QB when the lights get bright. He had way more playoff success with Rodgers but of course Rodgers is a far better player than Dak.

ChazGower

He's had two Divisional Playoff wins in the last 13 years and both came against a team that hasn't had one in 28 years.

Joshuajword

I think the point is that they should have done more but didn’t for one reason or another

GalloDeLucha

Your daddy Jerry Jones

Joshuajword

Not even sure what you’re trying to say about what here but good for you or I’m sorry that happened.

GalloDeLucha

The reason more wasn’t done was due to your daddy Jerry Jones.

Joshuajword

And you’re saying this to me, and Eagles fan, why?

GalloDeLucha

The fuck.. go to an eagles chat room I swear all of y’all cowboy haters are in love with the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is definitely yo DADDY.

Joshuajword

Eagles fan comes in with measured response Cowboy DeLucha: fUcK yOu JeRrY iS yOuR dAdDy Sure thing man, Jerry is my daddy for….checkin notes…what exactly? 1978? 1994?

GalloDeLucha

Go suck a geriatric Jerry Jones egg.

Joshuajword

What’s that? I couldn’t hear you through thirty years of nothing.

newaccountnumber84

You say nut job, I say enlightened

CompetitiveComputer4

MM isn’t perfect but he is a damn good coach. He runs a damn good program too. But it should be reminded in big blinking lights, that winning in the NFL is hard. Like real hard. And you can be a top coach and still run into a generational coach like Andy Reid, Bill Belichek or McVay/ shanahan. The fact that Rogers and McCarthy won one is a huge success. Some try to write that story as some type of failure and that is doing a disservice to how hard it is to accomplish.

ChazGower

He's had two Divisional Playoff wins in the last 13 years and both came against a team that hasn't had one in 28 years.

Joshuajword

He didn’t run into any of those three guys

CompetitiveComputer4

He’s ran into shanahan twice since he has been in Dallas.

Joshuajword

I’ll be honest, because you put a backward slash for him and didn’t capitalize his name I didn’t even recognize it as another name while reading. That being said, McCarthy was the reason Dallas lost both of those playoff games. Boneheaded strategy.

emaxxman

That SB winning team had 13 starters on IR. It took great coaching to overcome that. The QB didn’t will the team to a SB win by himself. That HOF QB hasn’t won a SB since MM left either. Sean Payton had a HOF QB too and only won one. His stint with the Broncos hasn’t been much yet either. It takes a lot of things to go right to win a SB. MM has taken an inconsistent 8-8 team to three consecutive 12-8 seasons. I’m just as disappointed in last season as anyone else. I do think if they don’t get over the divisional round this year, MM will be gone. Belichik is out there but I’m not confident he’ll turn this team around without a lot of pain.

Joshuajword

MM came into a perennial playoff contending team with a peaking franchise QB and several blue chip players. SP came into an absolute shitshow of an organization. They are not the same.

Warm-Wrap-3828

Loving the Heisman to the cameraman pic!

Stonethecrow77

He is a dead man walking... They did nothing to make his job easier next season...

DickBest70

Well his teams consistently won at least one playoff game and sadly my Cowboys have fallen so far that that would be an improvement if Dak could help him out by playing well.

Illustrious_Camp_521

I'm ready for them to move on from him.

byronhadleigh

Yes!! They came out in their last playoff game without any enthusiasm and that comes from the top.

RightfullyMellow

His and Dak’s.

PsychologicalSign77

Rodgers isn’t a nut job

lenchoreddit

It’s not the coaches in Dallas that are/have been the problem, it’s the man who hires them. Garrett, wade, campo,Switzer how many wasted years and rosters have we’ve gone through just so Jerry doesn’t get upstaged by a real, competent football coach. Great promoter of his brand but as a “manager” Jerry is one of the absolute worst in the NFL.

mikwil65

He’s outta there

dEck5317

McCarthy era will be the sadest era in my life as a fan, because of the unreal disappointment. We are the most winningest team in a 3 year period (37 Ws) to not make the conference title game. And until GB, those games vs SF were totally winnable. harsh shit He’s objectively a good coach, but he may have to go because the team doesn’t perform under the microscope. Although i like to cope by saying Dan Quinn purposely sabotashed us last year Lmfao

ChazGower

Complete disappointment. Three great seasons completely wasted.

GalloDeLucha

POS McCarthy. He’s the reason we don’t have Aaron Jones.

Mr_Truthteller

He has had the Prescott anchor around his neck.

DufferDan

And was just "blessed" with a worn-out running back. No coach stands a real chance when they work under one of the worst GM's in the league.
