If we used Phosphex we’d literally murder everyone and destroy the city in the process. There’s a reason the Techpriest who experimented with it a lot destroyed the STC to make it. That shit is soooo damn dangerous. I think there’s still planets 10k years later burning from it.

Phosphex bombs were used during the great crusade. Unfortunately you are correct. Planets are still burning due to the fact that phosphex uses literally anything to burn… and it emits radiation to boot … one of the few weapons the imperium actually considers a war crime…
Those things delete great unclean ones, I can’t imagine wtf it’ll do to Darktide bosses. let’s say it does the same shit as in boltgun but with no friendly fire, i’d be way to scared to pick one up because i know my ass would try to throw it at a chaos spawn only for it to miss and land across the map as my team rages at me in chat.
When that enemy first showed up I read it as 'Great Uncle One' and I literally said "fucker ain't MY uncle!" as I unloaded clips into him. I realized later it said UNCLEAN and had a good long chuckle about it
Lol too many times for me I had Krak grenades equipped, and lobbed them at a group of enemies, pressing the button immediately again expecting to throw a frag grenade next. Only to yeet my precious vortex grenade at like a group of Blue Horrors.

Yeah, they should try to avoid giving existing classes a lot of new specialized toys. Save them for brand new classes for sure.
I'm still over here hoping Ratling gets added so we can have a decent bolt action sniper put in the game.
I rather like the idea of bringing in some of the other grenade types; plasma, hallucinogen, and psyk-out could probably find a place in game. I'm sure there others I'm forgetting too.
I'd be willing to bet good money that there are fewer vortex grenades in deployment at any given point in time than there are Custodes in the history of Terra.
Ignoring that. It's crazy enough we're allowed thunder hammers and force weapons. Let alone power swords. If your Vet got his hands on a vortex grenade he'd be hunted by the inquisitor for wasting it on an enemy he's killed a thousand times.

It's even funnier when you load Vortex Grenades into a Aux Grenade launcher, and fit them to an Inquisitor with Teleport and Vortex psychic powers. then put him in Terminator armour and fit a jet pack (which famously got nerfed in WD).
I was thinking lore wise how the mechanicus would entrust such rare weapons, then I remembered that in this game our character are allowed to use plasma guns, bolters and even power weapons.
That sounds fun and all, but can we get the Vortex Bomber to go along with the Tox Bomber? Or maybe give the Tox Bomber like a 10% chance to chuck a vortex grenade? Instead of *just* corrupting gas that devastates toughness, this will just pull the rejects into the center and kill them. It will *also* kill any heretics. And we get to laugh as everyone runs away from them and they move randomly around.

I don’t always hurl my vortex grenade, but when I do it’s by accident at useless enemies 😂

I’ve been mulling over some ideas for a Mechanicus-themed engineer class, and this would be a perfect grenade for them.
