Kreth is an iffy starting point as she has a very specific playstyle, and it may change in a few months with 4.0. Vanguard or the battleforce (khainite slaughter coven) which can still be bought are both solid.
Not really imo. Krethusa wants a pretty specific list with at least a Cauldron, and lots of non-scathborn i.e. Aelves/SoS, Shadowstalkers and Warlocks. The best idea to start is the Battleforce from 2022. A good idea is the old start collecting box from six years ago. The best idea that's likely available is Vanguard and a Cauldron.
Really hope we get a Spearhead that isn't weird soon.
I would say grab the cronehost box for now, by time shes finished painting it we should have more information about 4.0.
Also keep an eye out for a cauldron kit. While we dont know if Krethusa will still need it in 4.0, though I would guess her rules wont change too much, its useful either way since it has a majority of DoKs foot heroes in it. Look into magnetizing it.
For warcry neither DoK nor Khainite Shadowstalkers are in a particularly hood place, that said, the vanguard builds a nice little force with a spear snake leader, ironscale and then some witches/SoS to finish the list up. You've just got to play smart.
AoS is being overhauled in like 1-2 months so we don't really know what will be good then, but if she like Krethusa she should probably just go for that.
If you feel you can go full glass cannon for warcry, krethusa box plus a gladiatrix should make for enough models to get something done (but *very* squishily)
Shadowstalkers box is a full 1k warband for warcry too, look cool and are fun imo though. Worth considering too.
