Rock chuck for general purpose use, Sheriff sidearm, sorta new old west vibe when on the bike and mg55 for the oh shit moments
edit to add, would recommend pc modders to try out the Growler Evolved mod, rocking a handheld minigun is awesome, especially against hordes.
The best all around combo I’ve found is Rockchuck, SMP-9, and BFG .50. That sniper rifle is seriously OP, the SMP is powerful enough to be a primary weapon and the Rockchuck is great for keeping things quiet. I’ve been able to pick off hordes with that thing without attracting the rest of the horde.
On my 4th playthrough and I gotta say I like the stealth elements a lot with the rock chuck, silenced Mayor, and the MG55 just in case i get overwhelmed by a small horde in wandering
I just came back for a new playthrough after a year or two. Using the SAF, the SAP9 you get from the horde killer rewards, and the drifter crossbow. Reckon I'll go back for a found weapons + crossbows only run on survival II next
I like the US556, Eliminator pistol, and crossbow.
They aren’t the strongest weapons in the game but for me they provide the best feeling for the adventure. All are pretty realistic to find in real life. And they won’t stomp enemies in the dust so every single fight feels tough.
Similar to the last guy but I keep going back to Chicago Chopper(hordes), lil stuby for killing things from my bike in one shot and BFG 50 for the long distance/sniper in the tree situations. I try to switch it out to diversify but can’t seem to find any load out that works better for when I’m just cruising around the open world
Edit: sometimes I switch the BFG for the drifter crossbow to burn nests easily

Just riding around and clearing camps, and hordes under 50: BFG, Auto Shotgun, and MP9 Horde clearing(hordes over 50): IDF Pup, MG55, and MP9

Drifter crossbow for multi purpose and either the PDW or the Smp9, and the auto shotgun or the bullpup
