Everytime when he opens his mouth when he is nervous or screaming I just go into a laughing fit like its hilarious. I think I only watch demon slayer on 40 % volume. My ears are sensitive so I can hear small things sound loud,things like dropping a pin in a quiet room. So I put it on 40% so I could hear his funny and adorable screams.
I don't hate him all that much, but his constant screaming and crying is annoying and it got pretty old very quickly. Also, he makes obsessing over Nezuko his main personality trait.
Where? All she did was occasionally kick demon's ass. She had no character development. Another example is Daki. Even after a 100 years Daki is still a brat. Rui was also just a kid after all those years.
That's a part of the memory they retain after becoming a demon.... rui wanted to be in a good family where everyone knows their roles but it's not like he didn't experience decades of life and all that information going in his brain
He gets experience yes, but his brain still stays that of a child.He literally goes to hell as a child, same as Daki.
Lets say you are right. Even then Nezuko was asleep for 2 years. Even after awakening she still acted like a child. So she was both physically and mentally a 12 year old.

Of course he gets better over time, but I seriously considered dropping the show when he first showed up.
The simping and the fact he barely has a character arc, he gains no experience from his major battles because he's ASLEEP for most of them. Tanjiro and Inosuke learn from their fights and that makes them even more determined to do better in the next fight. Zenitsu gets knocks unconscious, has an incredible battle, wakes up and we're met with "WHATS GOING ON WHY ARE MY FRIENDS BLEEDING PROFUSELY WHAT HAPPENED."
I personally love Zenitsu, and is my most favorite character. I can tolerate the annoying part of his character since I actually think itās funny, especially in the dub. Him chasing women is weird, but I just blame the writer. Zenitsu is also just a cool character to watch in action.

The reasons for both hating and liking him are very solid. Personally, I don't hate him but I don't like him either. One thing I really dislike about him is not the whiny attitude but how annoying and downright mean he can be to Tanjiro. Not really any character development, he simps, he does almost nothing in the first few seasons(and mugen train) except saving Nezuko and assisting Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Tengen with Daki.
To say he did nothing is just wrong.
He saved Shoichi, as well as the people who were being turned into spiders. If he wasn't there, they'd probably all be dead.
Also, he didn't just assist with Daki, he blitzed her several times. I'll admit that if Inosuke wasn't there he would've lost, but still, he blitzed a (at minimum) Lower Moon level demon. That's pretty impressive. He was basically leading the attack, even giving orders. He did way more than just assist.
Wdym he does nothing? He fights off the spider demon, saves nezuko and mutiple people in mugen train, he even saved tanjiro twice in the fight against daki (which zenitsu carried way more than inosuke). Like these haters are just not reading/watching the same show or wha? š
He reminds me a lot of Sakura from naruto in the sense that he loves someone who barely acknowledges his existence (nezuko is far more attentive than sasuke ever was tho so I will give it that). As they get further along the story they develop a bond and all but the whole ending for them is just real slapped together in my opinion

I'm personally a Zenitsu fan, I have him on t-shirts, I own a figurine, I've got a portrait of him up in my living room, but speaking on behalf of other people in my room I think they find his bit kinda gets old and it also takes a while before we get his first real "heart of gold" moment so a lot of people formed a negative disposition of him before his positive sides really came out
i never disliked zenistu but i was looking at a post sometime ago and it asked "what do u think about this ship?" it was nezuko and zenistu, the comments made my entire view of him change soooo any comment on there would explain why i hate him š

I feel like the reasons so many people dislike him are pretty well-documented at this point. For many people he's extremely annoying and has a mostly unlikeable personality, and a lot of his "funny" moments are actually more cringeworthy than funny.
I think he has moments, even when awake, where he's not so bad. But for the most part I can't stand him when he's awake, and his unconscious scenes aren't good enough to balance it out. I'm glad we got a break from him this season, >!but as a manga reader I know he'll be back in all his whiny annoying glory in the next arc.!<

Also the falling asleep thing is kinda dumb, mostly because it has none of the downsides of falling asleep. He can still communicate, he can fight just the same, his senses are the same. Heās just not scared anymore and his memory doesnāt work.
hes incredibly annoying. he objectifies and sexualises girls and women. heās always crying and doesnāt grow the fuck up until his last battle. his whole infatuation with nezuko was super one sided and creepy, felt super sorry for her.
So first of all he forces a women to marry him whoās already engaged and look at aoiās ukuks in kimetsu academy and then he enjoyed when the little girls sat on his back and stretched them like the arms and stuffā¦. And heās very annoying and he will probably not stay loyal to nezuko if a beautiful lady shows interest in him he will be gawking at her and no heās not powerful it was pure luck that he killed kaigaku since kaigaku didnāt have time to train his bd but if he did zentisuās ass would be ashes and even yuichiro stated that zentisu was able to kill kaigaku because kaigaku didnāt train his bd
His constant yelling (when awake) is way too much. If it were in smaller doses it might be funny, but it gets exhausting quickly.
Swordsmith Village Arc might be my favorite just because we get a break from him.

He doesnāt get any development and his whole āoh iām only cool when i sleepā get old fast but i do like him when he doesnāt scream about everything (not exclusively when he is asleep) like he did well in the entertainment district arc

I feel like the reasons so many people dislike him are pretty well-documented at this point. For many people he's extremely annoying and has a mostly unlikeable personality, and a lot of his "funny" moments are actually more cringeworthy than funny. I think he has moments, even when awake, where he's not so bad. But for the most part I can't stand him when he's awake, and his unconscious scenes aren't good enough to balance it out. I'm glad we got a break from him this season, >!but as a manga reader I know he'll be back in all his whiny annoying glory in the next arc.!<

I like his character just fine. Itās the standard screaming scenes that feel repetitive and uncomfortable after a while. Definitely not a dealbreaker on the series, but I totally get people who donāt like that kind of content.

Zenitsu screams and cries 24/7 and when that finally changes itās because he did something off screen due to something that happened off screen. Also the falling asleep thing is kinda dumb, mostly because it has none of the downsides of falling asleep. He can still communicate, he can fight just the same, his senses are the same. Heās just not scared anymore and his memory doesnāt work.

His constant yelling (when awake) is way too much. If it were in smaller doses it might be funny, but it gets exhausting quickly. Swordsmith Village Arc might be my favorite just because we get a break from him.
