Throw some cat hair and some of your own human hair on there. Just to see what blends in best so you donāt feel like you need to clean your floors every 2 hours
True. I have a pet, longer hair, and am cursed with the ālāvp flooring. I donāt really need to sweep DAILY - I could probably get by with weekly, but I run my vacuum twice a week as I have allergies. If I notice a dust ball forming somewhere, I usually pick it up with the hand vacuum at the time I notice it. Or an old fashioned broom if my hand vacuum is charging.
As a ginger cat owner and also owner of white oak floors, might I recommend #3?
Edit: ope just realized there's a black cat too. OP, you're screwed š
2 is my favorite too, 4 is too dark. All them will show dirt and even if they hide it better, the dirt is still there, so just get a roomba and forget about it.
I have warm yellowy floors in my 70 yr old house and it adds a lot of coziness. I think the overly bleached look will be dated sooner than later, like how grey became overdone to the point of being builder-grade.
I just moved from a 50ās house with warm wood floors to one with light grey vinyl wood and š„² all my warm decor looks so weird and almost dingy next to the new floors. And donāt even get me started on how visible every grain of red dirt I track in is š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬ we have red clay soil here ppl! What were we thinking?! š I miss my warm floors so much
I think bleached wood will date eventually, but only if itās bleaching has gone past a normal level of lightness found in natural wood. I think any natural wood tone (and by this I mean if you took a tree and slabbed it up) will always stand the test of time if done tastefully. For example, maple is a naturally very light wood that if clear coated will remain very pale, and I donāt think that wood will ever look dated. I think overly stained wood no matter what the stain (or bleach) is what looks dated against trends.
I think we have a tendency to hope that anything natural wonāt be dated. Wicker is natural, but after over saturation in the 80s it was tacky until it was revived in the 2010s - and itās back to seeming like a āthemeā for only particular looks popular with millennials.
I love honey woods since thatās what I have, but those were the butt of jokes and seen as gag worthy up until recently.
Reddish cherry cabinets were seen as rich and natural, died first in the 40s and again at the turn of the century. then once the 2000s ended it was everywhere and people got sick of it. Iām starting to see the love reappear.
Look at any HGTV baloney, IG renovation, etc, a designer or house owner will bend themselves in pretzels to say that some wood tone or another is horrendous or outdated and thus MUST be swapped for something more āmodernā (which just means, datable to the current year).
While pale woods are of course gorgeous, and Iām always happy to see any real wood flooring or furniture, I think dusty and bleached woods will be seen as very 2020s Studio McGee.
The real way for something to not date is to build it with intention to suit the house. Some houses soar with dark woods because of their style and build. Some look exceptional with medium wall panels and matching trim. Orange pine canāt be beat in real farmhouses or cabins. Just choose intentionally and love what you have.
Iām torn with these ones as well, weāre going to swap the floors in the whole apt. Some colors look better in different rooms so it might end up being a paint project too š¤·š¼āāļø
Yes I wouldnāt pick the flooring, which is more permanent, based on the paint which can be changed fairly easily. For flooring I feel like timeless is important.
I dont know, to each their own, but my parents paid about $12k to refinish their floors and get that color out of their house. And I paid about $2k. Itās hard to match things to. Granted this color is not nearly as orange as the ones in my experience, but itās too orange for me to ever choose

3 looks the worst here but the best in others. 1&4 are good everywhere. Weāre a divided household rn, Reddit helps.
We have one similar to 1 at home because it's wooden but still neutral. š
But they are so similar - just pick the one that draws your eyes the most.
Itās between 1 & 4 for me. Put each under the cabinet edge alone and take its picture. Ditto for by the walls and furniture in other rooms. Try to not capture the existing flooring in your pictures. Itās easier to see one photo vs another to decide which is better. Kind of like at the eye doctorāsā¦do you like 1 better or 4? See if you choose the same # for all your spaces. Better still, donāt know which is which when you look at them, but have the pics marked on the back. Scramble them. That forces you to choose one over the other, and then you can see if youāre always going to one # over the other. If 50-50, donāt overthink it. Pick what makes you feel happiest or what goes best with your catsā fur, local dirt colors, etc. š
I like all except number 3! 1 the lighting doesnāt allow us to see the color as well as the others but 1,2,4 look very neutral which i like but 3 is a warm color.
I would say 2 or 3. 2 is a neutral tone that doesnāt lean too grey like 1 and 4. However it is pretty light. 3 is more saturated but also more warm/yellow, but it still looks nice I think. Just make sure your furniture and cabinets (anything you will not change in the house) doesnāt clash
1 or 4, 2 is too pink and 3 is too yellow. I like 4 best with your existing wood. Are you keeping the carpet and wood? Or will this be throughout? Because if itās throughout then Iād like to see the options with your existing furniture
I think most people will pick 2 because itās the lightest and thatās trendy right now
But I actually think 1 looks great, will hide dirt, and survive trends
Throw some of that cat hair on them and see which hides it the best
Best comment out here
As a cat owner of 3 myself, I absolutely agree. šš¤Ŗ
Throw some cat hair and some of your own human hair on there. Just to see what blends in best so you donāt feel like you need to clean your floors every 2 hours
Never understood this. Iād rather see whatās dirty so I know to clean it.
Because if you sweep once a day youāre fine.
True. I have a pet, longer hair, and am cursed with the ālāvp flooring. I donāt really need to sweep DAILY - I could probably get by with weekly, but I run my vacuum twice a week as I have allergies. Yeah
My dog matches my flooring.
This is honestly how we picked our flooring I held them up to my dog to see what would blend in better
As a ginger cat owner and also owner of white oak floors, might I recommend #3? Edit: ope just realized there's a black cat too. OP, you're screwed š
Maybe spill a few things in the process, gotta make sure it passes all the checks
I think you'll be happy with number 3. The darker it is will show dirt and dust.
I love 2 because it is a light neutral. Goes with so, so many colors.
2 is my favorite too, 4 is too dark. All them will show dirt and even if they hide it better, the dirt is still there, so just get a roomba and forget about it.
I like #4!
The kittyās vote as well āØ
I also vote with kitty and choose #4. Itās so warm without being orange.
Kitty is right!!
You should not even have asked us. The cat knows š»
I also love 4 and would love to know what flooring that is!
Mannington Adura Brand, Swiss Oak Nougat :)
I'm with the kitty, 4 seems from the little I saw to fit your furniture the best. I do prefer the flooring of the kitchen.
4
Seem to be in the minority but I love the warmth of 3

Same here. Wood color trends come and go, just go with something classic. Decorate with rugs.
I agree! Warm floors are lovely.
They are so similar that there is no clear winner.
Yup I said 3, then no 4, then actually 2? I couldnāt ever choose given these photos lol
Cat likes 4ā¦ you know the answer.
I like 1 or 4. Less yellow than 2 and 3.
Agree. Especially #3 looks way too yellow.
2 or 4. Are you doing everything or just the carpeted areas? For the record 1 is too gray and 3 is too orange IMHO.
Clearly, the cat has already decided for you, so case closed!
I'm siding with the cat.
Definitely 2
I like 2
3! Hands down!! So warm and timeless.
I vote #4. If you have a lot of cool colors, this is a nice balance.
I do prefer 4, but if you're not changing the kitchen I would just continue that flooring into the living room
I agree with the cat
#4!
4
#4
The cat has spoken.
I agree with your cat -- #4
Looks like you fur babies picked 4 already
I vote #4. 3 is too yellow.
3
I have floors similar to #3 and love them
I like the warmth of 3!
For sure.. for the warmth. I used to have floors this color and I miss them so much.
4
Anyone but 3, it has too many orangey undertones
that's called warmth š
I dont know, to each their own, but my parents paid about $12k to refinish their floors and get that color out of their house. And I paid about $2k. Itās hard to match things to. Granted this color is not nearly as orange as the ones in my experience, but itās too orange for me to ever choose
4. How does it look with your kitchen cabinets?

1 or 2 look best here.
4 is still my choice.
4 or 1
4
#4 I like the best
#4!
4
1 or 4.
Excuse me, the cat already chose 4 for you.
I like bright flooring. 3 is my pick
3!
3 itās nice and warm
3 is the warmest and nicest looking imo
3
#3!
Choice #3 by a mile! It's warm and cheerful. The others look too washed out.
3
I like 3
#4 It's warm and dark without being too dark.
3! Itās so warm
#3. Not too dark
The dark one in your kitchen is my favorite
Here for this comment!
At least a couple people agree with me š
1 and 4 but hard to tell from the photos
Cat wants 4.
3
Anything except #3- it will be way too yellow.
My favorite to least favorite: 2, 1, 4, 3. They're all nice though. Can't go wrong with any of these choices.
Hello! I love 4, can you please share what brand of flooring this is?
Mannington Adura WPC
Thank you so much!!
2 or 4. They have less orange. I hate the orange in my floors so much.
2
1 or 4 preferring 4
I like 1
Any but #1
2
If youāre worried about the dirt then #4 I think is best choice bc the others pull a bit too warm unless thatās what youāre looking for.
https://preview.redd.it/pblxxdcq0h6d1.jpeg?width=2100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e115db9b89f8bd9dfe00a44d80f489a468ea53fc Hereās without kitties for bias and 2 eliminated. This is the bathroom that gets no natural light. We live in an overcast rainy place so Iām partial to the 3 votes for warmth and so my fiancĆ© can get his choice, but 4 has the vote of me, the kitties and the majority here. For anyone asking the brand is Mannington Adura WPC
2

3 or 4
2!!
1 or 3( looks brighter) It depends on what style your other furniture is
3
1 or 4. Nothing too yellow or orangey like 3.
Itās between 1 & 4 for me. Put each under the cabinet edge alone and take its picture. Ditto for by the walls and furniture in other rooms. Try to not capture the existing flooring in your pictures. Definitely 4!
2
The choice has already been made clearly :-)
2 is fantastic.
3
I really like option 4! It seems like it would really complement the color of your walls.
4
Wdym, the cat has already chosen for you
I like the flooring under the 4 samples in photo 3
Iām with the cat, 4. You know black cats have the best eye for design. All black is so chic.
They all look good but I like number 2 š
Three seems right to me. I love the warmth in it. However the cat's choice is good too! My second pick.
1 or 4
1 or 4. I like how they are neutral tone and not too light or dark.(4 is favorite)
I like #4
Are you trying to match the wall paint, cabinets, and current furniture? Whatās the aesthetic youāre going for?
1 or 2
4
I am a believer in washable surfaces that already look dirty such as tortoise shell. Get nonslip Real sanity saver
I really like 4 but itās the most modern. 3 is the most classic. 1 is in the middle. Iād go 4
I like all except number 3! 1 the lighting doesnāt allow us to see the color as well as the others but 1,2,4 look very neutral which i like but 3 is a warm color.
1, 2, or 4
3
4
Two looks best with the tone of the carpet .
4
4
I like #2 the best.
pretty clear the cat has chosen 4 for you. no point to this post.
I had 2. It went with everything. I miss it. :(
2 or 3. Probably 3?
Any but 3. It's too yellow and doesn't match
My choice would be three
2
Number 1 or 3 imo
2 or 4, and kitty says 4
2 or 3
1
#1 for sure
3
3
4
4 is the best
3 or 4. Warm and not trendy
3 feels significantly more warm/inviting and homey to me. the other 3 are giving more of a generic vibe imo
Bruh, it's practically the same damn floor š
3 has the most golden hue and will probably look great in morning or afternoon sun. But honestly, they all look fine:)
3
3
3. I like warm floors. The washed out modern looks just aren't at all appealing to me.Ā
No need to ask us, the kitty has already decided. And I agree with the kitty.
1 or 4, 2 is too pink and 3 is too yellow. I like 4 best with your existing wood. Are you keeping the carpet and wood? Or will this be throughout? Because if itās throughout then Iād like to see the options with your existing furniture
I think most people will pick 2 because itās the lightest and thatās trendy right now But I actually think 1 looks great, will hide dirt, and survive trends
3 is the answer
#4 is really elegant
2
I pick number ā¹
5,6,7,8
3 - others look so washed out and dull. Donāt forget to look at your options in full daylight/natural light.
For the love of God, donāt put laminate in the kitchen
I like 1 and 4. Possibly leaning towards 4.
the cat has decided
2
With or without cat hair, it's 1&4 for me
#3- timeless. But my design asthetic has always leaned to warmth.
Love 1!
1 or 4
2
What's the brand?
2 &/or 4, three is yellow so no.
1
Iām going to need you to take a strand of hair and see which one it blends into the most.
Lol!
2nd from top, has the most depth
I like the carpet that says 1,2,3,4 All good. I thought 3, but then I did the same as everyone else and changed my mind.
3
3 or 4 ā¦ I have light oak and if these are real wood they show everything!
1 or 4
2 or 4!
2
