It’s a toss up between the Doakes confrontation in Dexter’s lab or [the scene](https://youtu.be/HcA2rynvfi0?si=01qF2BM5vdVKFJoj) where he beats up Olivia’s step dad for me.
Saxon’s death is right up there as well, it’s really hard to pick just one tbh.
I don't think you have to be a psychopath. It could also just be a real tough dude that knows he can take Paul apart anyway of the week and can tell Paul is mostly bluster.
I’m a normal person and someone who I knew I could absolutely dismantle if it came to a physical confrontation did the same thing to me and I didn’t flinch, yes a good punch can knock you out or worse but some people can tell when others are full of shit, or just all talk.
I’m my opinion it was when he killed Saxon. I know what a lot of people think about s8 but Dexter killing Saxon was one of the most satisfying deaths in the show for me especially the way they did it, Dexter didn’t care if he was seen killing him he just wanted Saxon dead.
It's hands down the best single moment in that season. It's also one of the only times I can remember that Dexter straight up calls his shot, mere seconds before making it a reality lol. I hated the last season (& the finale in particular), but that moment was fantastic.
Yeah see I LOVED it , that scene was so powerful. One thing about what got me was he punches the step dad on the left side and says "oh that's your liver ", like noo its not. That's the spleen. 😭😭
Head butting Doakes, beating up Olivia’s stepdad, hitting Paul with a frying pan. Though I wish he’d just told Rita the truth about framing Paul instead of letting her think he was an addict. Paul was pressing false charges- I’d have just been like “I stole the drugs from evidence in case the case went against you but then he threatened you and I lost my temper.” If he understood human behavior better he’d have known she’d understand.
He did try to say this. But she asked how he knew how much to give him. Then jumped to the conclusion it was because they were his drugs and knew much as he was used to taking them himself.
Don’t know how he really knew but I guess the real answer was something connected to his having killed someone. Like maybe he was vetting a drug addict to see if they were a killer and had to spend time with him and learnt about drugs.
Also she was saying it would explain why he disappear, be late and so on. And so he decided it would be good she thought this as it explained everything.
re your second paragraph, that absolutely had nothing to do with killing and everything to do with his background in science. Doakes mentions he graduated top of his class at medical school and people tend to forget how big of a role his science career plays into how precise he is and his decisions, he would definitely be highly familiar with drug dosages
Probably not the most badass, but when Rita's ex husband was trying to intmidate dex and threw the fake punch. Dexter just smirks and doesn't flinch at all
Badass without having to be badass
The voice he has when he told him “get off him” as he dragged Arthur away like he was a bad dog or something, it was amazing!
I did get annoyed when Arthur’s wife and daughter made a human shield to protect him and Dexter knew to just leave.
Not the most badass but when he intimidates the video game guy that works as an intern in his apartment it's pretty great. Dude's feet are literally lifted off the floor as Dexter forces him against the wall.
When he kills Dan the Dentist, but there's another unconscious man in his car who tries to run, he chokes him with plastic and rearranges the bodies as if they'd killed each other.
Yup. Great scene when Dexter gives his opinion on how bullshit compartmentalization truly is… It's just a great inner dialogue moment as well.
He barely caught that guy too which just made the scene always one of those “oh shit” moments.
When Dexter is helping Lumen with the 1st man she starts tracking down and shooting, when Dexter hears him ranting on the phone..
Just tells Lumen to shut up, and goes up to him, as the guy keeps yelling, he admits to raping Lumen.
As soon as that came out, so did the words “Die-Die.” - by Dexter and Dexter snapping his neck.
Either the confrontation on the roof with Miguel (badass for many reasons), or when he breaks his own hand to deal with the Skinner. Season 3 is so underrated…
Not backing down from Isaac Sirko and taking on little Chino—twice! I loved how the Chickens🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓were helpful in distracting Little Chino. But that was still an epic takedown!
When he beat the fuck out of the guy who was abusing girlfriend’s kid. No murder. No stabbing. Just someone fucking with dexters family and getting his ass rocked for it
This subreddit makes me so sad. All these incredible moments listed just remind me how much I love the show, & how unbelievably disappointed I was with how it ended.
It's like sometimes I repress the memory of season 8, but then when I actually think about the show, I'm forced to confront it. Such a bummer.
Anyway, I always loved moments when he let the dark passenger out against people who he doesn't actually plan on killing (Olivia's dad, Lewis, etc). It's almost scarier seeing him that way, for some reason.
Maybe. But hard to pick just one.
There’s the “I own you” scene, smacking Paul with the frying pan, beating up the abusive stepdad, nailing the cashier and then stealing her gun (in the “Nebraska” episode), killing the pedo and then stealing his milk, etc.
But I’ll admit, I’m partial to the very first kill scene of the series. “Open your eyes, and look at what you did!”
The very beginning has a pretty badass scene
“OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID”
And then with a very soft and calm voice
“Open or ill cut your eyelids right off your face”
All the scenes where someone threatens Dex without knowing who he is.
Is just so satisfying Dexter’s face expressions, like “I could have you strapped in a table in no time” 😂
When he headbutts Doakes “I own you”
That one ranks pretty high
FUCK YOU
😭💀

Ooooo yes, all three of these.👏👏👏
Olivia’s step dad one was so good
When he doesn’t even flinch when Rita’s ex feints punching him in the face
fr the way he just stares at him
Is that it? You absolutely love him in that moment. Especially because Paul is so well cast as the archetypal bully.
Only a cold blooded psychopath would remain calm in a situation like that. I thought it was a nice detail added by the show writers.
I don't think you have to be a psychopath. It could also just be a real tough dude that knows he can take Paul apart anyway of the week and can tell Paul is mostly bluster.
Any normal person would block/dodge the punch and react or have some kind of automatic reaction. Psychopaths have trouble experiencing fear/anxiety.
He does. He slightly turns his head and squints a bit.
I’m a normal person and someone who I knew I could absolutely dismantle if it came to a physical confrontation did the same thing to me and I didn’t flinch, yes a good punch can knock you out or worse but some people can tell when others are full of shit, or just all talk.
Bro is not Dexter
Lmaoo Na but it’s not something you have to be a psychopath to do lmaoo if you’re not scared of someone it’s fairly easy

When he beat the fuck out of olivias step dad for abusing her. “No? Let me show you?”
This is my favourite by a mile!
Yeah see I LOVED it , that scene was so powerful. One thing about what got me was he punches the step dad on the left side and says "oh that's your liver ", like noo its not. That's the spleen. 😭😭

I really like the part of this scene where he takes off his belt and drags Arthur to the other room by his neck
Yes 100% this one. “I should have killed you when I had the chance”
The voice he has when he told him “get off him” as he dragged Arthur away like he was a bad dog or something, it was amazing! I did get annoyed when Arthur’s wife and daughter made a human shield to protect him and Dexter knew to just leave.
Beating that guy to death in the bathroom then letting out that scream of anger
"I am a father, a son, a serial killer."
They said that stain would come out!
That's also one of the funniest lines that dexter has said imo 💀
When he shot stop signs in Nebraska. That was epic. 👍
Beating up Olivia’s dad
Not the most badass but when he intimidates the video game guy that works as an intern in his apartment it's pretty great. Dude's feet are literally lifted off the floor as Dexter forces him against the wall.
My nomination is when he hunts the mafia sniper hit man in the gun range. Dexter scoffs at his body count that Isaac was so afraid of.
The "he had a gun you had a knife "conversation was honestly such a good moment
When he kills Dan the Dentist, but there's another unconscious man in his car who tries to run, he chokes him with plastic and rearranges the bodies as if they'd killed each other.

When he says to Harrison u don't need God to protect u...u got daddy Dexter

“I’m here to kill with you that pen” Something so satisfying with that line and the whole scene it’s self.
When Dexter becomes the best dad of all time and beats up that other dad for abusive his daughter. 💙
Nah. When he’s beating the fuhhh outta that guy that abused Astrid’s friend and explains where he’s hitting and why it hurts so bad. 💯💯💯
Either the confrontation on the roof with Miguel (badass for many reasons), or when he breaks his own hand to deal with the Skinner. Season 3 is so underrated…
Head butting Doakes
when he killed the skinner
Just check my flair
When he told doakes i own you or when he killed saxon
The second scene of the series. "OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK. AT WHAT. YOU. DID."
How I’ve seen this scene mentioned just once??
These comments remind me how much I loved this show
Not backing down from Isaac Sirko and taking on little Chino—twice! I loved how the Chickens🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓were helpful in distracting Little Chino. But that was still an epic takedown!
Tbh i thought this scene was pretty hot of Dexter.
I own you
Beating up Olivia's dad.
