If at all, get an old flagship phone and don't support the literally e-waste they sell on chinese market places.
There's quite some amazing stuff on ali, but extremely cheap android phones aren't part of it.
Get for example a Sony Xperia X compact or the like, flash LineageOS and have a super clean, very snappy experience without the fear of having malware preinstalled by some chinese brands.
It has a headphone jack, relatively good performance and most important: a very compact size.
With only 4.6" it's one of the smallest semi modern phones in existence.
I might still have a good old android around here somewhere if I find it I agree it would be way better than those 20 something bucks zoyes phones or whatever... I was just curious about what people thought about it.
I will keep it in mind if I find one for cheap I actually saw many mentions of that model for this usage, why is it so popular, is it a combination of being a relative cheap android phone + good hardware?
The LG v series of phones have a dedicated quad dac for driving very high end headphones via the 3.5mm jack. Similar chips to the ones in the dedicated DAPs
kyocera duraforce smart phones, not only durable and waterproof, but also can install poweramp and use it as your music player app for those phones. I'm currently using the pro 2 one and I have a pro 1 also, only downside about pro 2 is I got it with no charge port cover, so can't dive on some water with it, but nonetheless great phone
