Any animal? I would choose the bug of carboniferus, I think all of them are cool.
For dinosaur I think my big three are parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus and Therizinosaurus.
They definitely are, I was introduced to them from walking with monster and it was love at first sight.
I was sad to eventually realize there is no actual fossil record of giant spider, but giant milipeded, dragonfly and scorpion are still cool.
The Chatham Island Dromaeosaur/Megaraptor.
But if you want me to choose out of ALL prehistoric animals, in order of Epoch:
Placerias, Cryolophosaurus, Chatham Island Megaraptor, Basilosaurus, Leviatan :3
I have three favourites they are carnotaurus, Baryonyx and dreadnoughtus.
Dreadnoughtus is normally one that people don’t really know but I started to really like after reading the book the rise and fall of the dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte and now it’s one of my favourites
My favorite carnivore: Eoraptor (Triassic)
My favorite herbivore: Pachycephalosaurus (Upper Cretaceous.
My favorite omnivore: Gallimimus (Upper Cretaceous), and no, i do not mean that weird ass Jurrasic World version of it. It looks way better with feathers.
My favorites will probably change in the future. But this is my favorites right now. If i would choose one of those to be my ultimate favorite then it would be Eoraptor. It's very cool.
Simon Stålenhag, Swedish artist best known for mixing dull, ordinary Swedish settings with sci-fi elements.
This painting is called Tyrannosaurus and is one of several paintings he did as comissions for, I think, the Stockholm museum of natural history.
My girlfriend even got me a little notebook with a yutyrannus on it, and I think my birthday present from her will have to do with the yutyrannus as well, but that's just a guess
dinosaur: albertosaurus
flying reptile: quetzalcoatlus
marine reptile: elasmosaurus
cenozoic animal: entelodon
anything before mesozoic: probably dimetrodon (i dont know many from before the mesozoic)
I think my used flair pretty much sums it up. Tyrannosaurus Rex.
If you’d like more variety, it can be a toss up between Smilodon and the Cave Lion, with a bit of P. Funkie for marine measure.
sorry couldnt say much about it, even throught the years in this community with every new animal I learned through the years, it just stayed at the top,
that animal is just **THE ONE** for me
Iguanadon! Disney’s Dinosaur may not hold up for some people, but I freaking loved that movie as a kid. It did a lot to rep the less mainstream dino species and really show the scale of them.
Deinonychus and edmontosaurus here. But I gotta say the paleogene period has been piquing my interest more and more lately as I've been going down rabbit holes
Ceratosaurus
Slightly larger than a Utahraptor but heavy built. Like a mini Rex imo. They were incredibly tough, had massively large serrated teeth for their size, and had decently small brains. My personal theory is they were like Hyenas but more vicious due to their lack of intelligence, making them more like Honey Badgers. Iirc, some evidence in Allosaurus skeletons suggested they fought at times.
I'm mostly likely wrong considering there's probably evidence debunking it but I still love the little guy regardless.
Carnotaurus. One of the most well documented/understood theropods, which is neat enough, but also it's only known from a single VERY complete skeleton.
Also, in the words of ZZ Top, "She's got legs"
deinonychus is my favorite!! i love all the dromaeosauridae in general but deinonychus just has a special place in my heart
probably doesnt help that my interest in dinosaurs unfortunately stems from ark, so my first impression of them will always be fluffy raptors :P
I would have to pick between Spinosaurus or Yutyrannus... but if I got 10 picks I would choose:
Allosaurus, Liopleurodon, Giganotosaurus, Polarcantus, Suchomimus, Utharaptor, Shantungosaurus (such a beast!), Shunosaurus, Ampelosaurus and Postosuchus (that was really hard to narrow dowen I still have so many I love hahah)
Hard to pick. My top favorites are all the raptors, Acrocanthosaurus (it’s got the cool spine 😎), and basically every other kind of dinosaur lol
We are both Team Acro! 😎 high five!
I can't tell if this guy doesn't know what an edit button is or if they just forgot to switch to their alt
No I just replied rather than edit because it’s easier
Ay bro include me too I'm on team acro foreves
Yay! High five! 🖐️
Did not know it existed till now and it looks sick! High five!
Yep! It has the features of a t rex, giga, and spino rolled into one, awesome theropod. Nothing tops the acrocanthosaurus
In my opinion at least
Let’s gooo!!!
Any animal? I would choose the bug of carboniferus, I think all of them are cool. For dinosaur I think my big three are parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus and Therizinosaurus.
Yes any prehistoric animals also nice picks!
I know it is impossible. Since I have watch prehistoric park when was a teen, I always wanted a meganeura as a pet hawk.
Hey, nice to see someone appreciating ancient insects, they’re so cool 👍🏻
They definitely are, I was introduced to them from walking with monster and it was love at first sight. I was sad to eventually realize there is no actual fossil record of giant spider, but giant milipeded, dragonfly and scorpion are still cool.

Therizinosaurus would be my favorite herbivore. All the dromeosaurs and allosaurus.
Diplocaulus. It's my boi Keith.

Iguanodon, or Ornithopods in general as the top, with Koreaceratops as a far off second. But they all are amazing.

Hot take: Homo Neanderthalensis
Baryonyx
Very cool dinosaur
Sarcosuchus or Leedsichthys
Carnotaurus. One of the most well documented/understood theropods, which is neat enough, but also it's only known from a single VERY complete skeleton. Also, in the words of ZZ Top, "She's got legs"
Irritator and Guanlong.
Azdarchids! The largest living beings to ever fly, giant terrifying giraffe-storks with beaks as long as your body. I wish I could see one irl.
I loved this pic until I noticed these wrists
Yea I noticed that too 🙁 to bad I can’t change that
Pachycephalo- trex
Quetzalcoatlus all the way

Terror bird, but I'm just really biased towards birds.
Carnotaurus it’s like a prehistoric dangerous sausage
