I will say too the people that are saying I'm dumb I already know that but I hope you guys appreciate this because I'm willing to cut my doors in order too tell the world if adding 6.5 inch speakers/3ways is the way too go. I hope this goes very well. After im done, I'll do a sound demo and show where I put the 4 channel amp. You guys can call me dumb all you want, but I hope some of you guys that are bassheads and audio freaks like me will appreciate this. Best of luck to me, lol
Yikes, this is gonna shake the door panel apart. The stock Hi-Fi system sounds pretty good and the L7 sounds even better. Why not retrofit one of those?
I personally don't like the stock system. As for the door panel all of it is triple layered on sound deadner(solid like a rock). I just got wait for the results. I'm not worried about the speakers but more of the subwoofers
Im worried that the subwwofers will resonate too much bass too the door speakers. But they should be fine what I'm thinking of doing is covering the compartment where the 6.5 inch speaker is with sound deadner so it can act like it's own box. I'm not sure what it will sound like with the compartment open but will find out. The subwoofers are strong as hell in the trunk im running dual sundowns sa12s v.2 with a 3500rms amp. Car shakes like crazy 🤪
I have Focal ES100Ks in my e92 and the crossovers fit very comfortably in the door panels. Just have to know where to put them. It’s very possible to achieve very big sound in these cars with the stock speaker sizes. You just have to know what speakers would give you the most quality for the dollar and how to set up your sound stage. I have Focals front and rear and I use the 8” Bavsounds for my mids under the seats as well as 2 10” W6s in the trunk. I always get compliments about how clean and punchy my sound is and the best part is everything looks clean and stock when you look inside. Not to mention almost zero rattle. All that being said, it’s cool to see when people take on projects like this especially if successful. Best of luck.
Expensive in my opinion. Also no one has done it before with the stock panel. It's a pretty crazy thing to do for sure but im hoping I get the results I want lol 😆
The impossible? Im sorry, but i dont think you have ever seen how the swedish youth build cars.
It has been done LOADS of times on bmw’s, so you definitely ain’t the first to do it lol
My 328 has the hi-fi and my 335 has the harmons. In my opinion they both sound really good. I’m sure there’s better options but they’re better than a lot of stock systems in cars.
Harmon is definitely solid, but the stock system is the key word. Aftermarket is worlds better, I've heard a lot of stereos, and it's one of my big hobbies, and Aftermarket just blows out harmon kardon or logic 7. They are overpriced and not as good as they should be, also bigger =better. The problem with the stock system is that there's almost no mid range. To be fair, those sony speakers are top of the line that Sony has, and there 700$ brand new. In my opinion, Sony is a hidden gem in car audio that no one pays attention to
Yikes
Ruin your BMW door cards with this OEM simple trick! 🤣🤦🏼♂️
When you're into car audio, you'll do anything, lol. Also, door panels are very cheap, too. So if it's a mistake I can buy a new one 🤣🤣😂

Alot of space for what?
.. a subwoofer. That's where the factory subs are.
🤢
Trust me it's worth it lmao 🤣
This isn’t impossible. There are actual websites that sell custom door panels that fit larger speakers.
Another problem is the fact you cnat fit crossovers in the those door panels. Basically makes your space smaller also

I bet it sounds awesome. Jl sounds amazing. I just think 6.5 inch are the way to go in general. I bet those focals sound amazing
It's the sony crossovers that are a pain lmao. They are huge

I've never seen someone upload it on a stock door panel
Goodness. I don’t hate the tweeter idea, thats reasonable. The 6.5 smack in the door storage like that is nuts. Do you have a plan to fill it in?
Doesn't need too be filled in surprisingly it sounds amazing just like that
So, are you planning to fabricate some sort of filler panel behind it?
HEY EVERYONE ITS DONEEE. AND IT SOUNDS OUTTA THIS WORLD. AND BMW E90 with 6.5 speaker 3 way is the BEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD IN A LONG TIME
The stock speakers are already really good. Better than any car in its category imo.
Stock speakers are far from good in my opinion. They sound bad. Bigger the better and 3 ways makes in a million times better and more emmersive

Off topic but you ever been in a car with those “3d” systems? Like the one in the s class? I never have but sounds like it would be sick
It's not as great, honestly. I'm telling you bigger is better. I swear by it. More all around
