HELL NO! There are literally so many violations in these pictures.
Everything is dirty, THE STATE OF THAT WAX POT, there’s no lid on the trash can, no barbicide…so many issues here. Are you positive this was the studio they recommended you?
I feel like there has got to be a chance that maybe there are two wax studios with the same name, because no way would anyone describe this room as hygienic.
I know right? Which tools have been used / are new / will be reused for me? Towels on the bench looked used - imagine being the 5th client lying down half naked 🤢
Needless to say, I'm not going to my colleagues for advice. They go there for exfoliation, microdermabrasion, etc, and I just cannot cope with the thought 🥴😷
oh my god. that is horrid. seeing the pictures before reading the context…. i figured this was just some shitty back room at home set up. there are SO many things wrong with this regarding sanitation especially. wow.
Run as fast as you can!! That is dangerous and no telling how much bacteria is living there. Where is the Barbicide solution and container for sterilization?? OMGEEE Where is lid fir trash? There's product residue on everything! Where are the gloves... I almost threw up!!
Thanks so much for all your comments!
I'm based in the UK so will investigate who to contact. Could be the Council initially.
Yes, it is the correct place for sure, the name of the owner was also correct 😳
I said to my colleagues that it was disgusting. They said it's because I'm from a different country where the rules are too strict. They also admitted the treatments are affordable.
I will go to a different business as I am sure this is a representation of the worst of the worst in the business
My school had extremely strict sanitation standards & affordable prices. I don't know what the requirements are to be an esthetician in the UK, but the US is extremely strict. Check out beauty schools. In the US, you wouldn't be able to get a Brazilian at a school, but maybe they're lax about that there haha. A reputable school will absolutely be much cleaner.. just make sure they offer the service before wasting a trip. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience, but walking out was the best decision you could've made. I can't believe your colleagues defended that dump!
Absolutely not. The cleanliness of the room is the first impression of you & your work for clients. This just screams unorganized & carelessness. I would report the establishment to state board.
I thought this was your personal at home treatment room. I was gonna say it's not bad if you're not using the space to practice professionally, & that your wax pot needs a serious cleaning. If someone is using this room to practice under state licensure, you should seriously report it to the board of cosmetology & governing agencies ASAP. Mine are the FDA & EPA, but your state might be different. Good call walking out.
Very messy and disorganized. Cords could be a safety hazard if anyone tripped or fell. Also seems like nothing has been disinfected and they are reusing one use disposable applicators for the wax.
That needs to be reported to the state licensing board. That is straight up dangerous.

I thought the same thing. There's no way someone could be practicing there professionally. This needs reporting ASAP.

It looks nasty actually. I would not want to have a service there.
Run
As soon as I saw the towels, I said immediately NO. The pictures got progressively worse.
oof! I certainly wouldn't let that person wax me! it may be time to update your coworkers on what proper tool storage and sanitization is too?
FUCK NO.
Literally everything about it is a HUGE no!!!! It's gross
