I’ve been getting into it the past few weeks, it’s pretty slow to start as you gotta slog through all the base game BS. I can tell it’s gonna start getting really good though as playing with others and trying the many new NPC quest are pretty fun.
The original main quest line isn't for everyone, yes. I personally like it very much, but I can see how it can't appeal to everyone. And unfortunately, you can't skip it. It's necessary if you want to use nukes.
Wendigos are said to be pale, thin husks of men who consumed their fellows during a desperate winter. They are cursed to walk forever, ever cold and ever hungry. Very cool and fitting.
The more common "Wendigo" is a pop culture skinwalker fused with Leshy, usually featuring a stag skull in place of his face. Looks neat and is scary, not really true to folklore.
Yeah I know very little about indigenous cultures from what today is the US and Canada, but from what I understand this a relatively faithful recreation of a Wendigo.
