My guess is that, it just came down to Max being inexperienced. Max wasn't trained for Power Armor yet, he literally just stole that armor a couple days ago. And he probably didn't really know how to operate it properly beyond walking around and punching things.
There most likely was a manual release to get out of power armor even without a fusion core, but Max either didn't know how to use it or didn't know it was a thing.
Yeah but that was because he was taking a chance that it had the same chink in the armor that the one he was more familiar with had.
I swear the four main characters have a maxed out luck stat
I mean yes- but they need something - otherwise power armor stomps all except a grip ton of rpgs or a bomb. Same with the ghoul. Hard to portray HP damage sponge in a live action adaptation, so they gotta add some plot caveats like the ghouls need for his medicine. Otherwise he’d outlast and blast everyone.
I thought that about the inhaler. I was trying to work out what it was, because the only drug I remember Ghouls using was Superjet, which you learn about in Fallout 3 because you discover Murphy's lab for it. Unless Myron or someone in the OG fallouts mentioned something?
The only other option is that it's FEV, since that's never addressed In the show?
Tempered lining is just a different lining knights used for their armour, if you see when he opens the inside that is what is tempered 😁A lot of knights modded armor so wouldn’t be quite unique
Tempering is for the metalwork of the suit. It's a tempered (strengthened) interior shell. Unless it's a different base metal (Alu inside a steel shell, for example) it won't actually look any different to the casual observer, like a TV show viewer
Ghoul did point out that the armors were flawed machines multiple times. I guess they never bothered perfecting the war tech because soldiers were expendable
But he is thought? He brings up the liner under the armor and asks about specifics that his buddy who got selected didn't even know. Lucy knowing about it from also reading the manual is why he falls for her.
I feel like if they still had a functioning eject switch, he would know about it.
pretty much the same reason why tanks have little use after they throw a tread and need a huge machine to reattach it.
in war one suit means nothing,
in peace its not a problem,
Hard disagree. It made the armor more of a character or strong plot element and less like a car with rockets. Mac knows next to nothing about the suit. It was a plausible circumstance.
Exactly. They even illustrated it. The visor says "standby mode" the whole time... so there still power. Flat Acting Performance Max just didn't know where the eject button was.
You live by the armour, and die by the armour. Quite ingenious if you ask me. At least you know what happened to the Knight in this case.

Well he would probably have two or three days to figure it out.
I thought this part was gonna be a “you can’t exit your power armor here” joke
Max beats up coop pretty well, too. But then later coop one shots a bunch of trained knights...

I mostly agree with you, but they make a point to explain that his armor is tempered, possibly making it somewhat unique.

Or assumed Something like 'soldier will be dead before the enemy unplugs the power'
Probably the same reason they gave the kamikaze pilots only enough gas to get the ships
there probably is, but Max isn't exactly knowledgeable on power armor

Yet he has had no training on using it and has never used it before, so yeah I’d say his understanding isn’t all that great

Ur supposed to have a squire with u and be in contact with the brotherhood all the time. Maybe it's to keep guys from going AWOL. System of control.
Honestly, this was a plot failure by the showrunners. There is such a mechanism in the games.
