I am not retired but I am financially independent. I have about 1.3-1.4L in passive income. Spend about 1.6L a month because I do have active income too. Passive net worth is probably around 6 Cr. 5 Cr in Real Estate yielding about 3% and 1 Cr in equities yielding about 2%.  But I agree 1L ain't FatFIRE. For me around 3L+ a month in passive disposable income is FatFIRE. But wealth is relative so to each his own.

How old are you sir ? And which city do you reside in ?

vairaagya

I'm 31. Live in Goa.

humble-Z

How is spending less than 1 lakh a month FATFire ?

saviofive

The amount changes in different parts of the country

Salt_Selection9715

it’s not fatfire in any *livable* part of the world

vairaagya

This is false. Liveable is subjective.

mombanger200

Go to a small town in Uttarakhand. 1 lakh is very easily FATFIRE there.

Salt_Selection9715

i’d never live there period. and how is $1200 a month luxurious? that’d barely cover a car payment.

mombanger200

Take PPP into account. In india $1200 will be more than enough to pay your 3bhk home rent, a decent car loan emi and leave you with enough to easily sail through the month (you'll be covering your needs very easily, but maybe not in the luxury you're thinking about. Take the car loan payment out and that'll do the trick.) And my man what's your car cost lmao $1200 is a lot even by American standards

Salt_Selection9715

I am 18; I don’t drive a car that expensive. I drive a modest corolla haha. My dad drives a Highlander and it’s around that much. If i’m fatfiring, I’d at least want a $60-70k car like come on.

saviofive

I think the question then is what is monthly FatFire expenditure?. If we can be specific of what its not I'm hoping to get black and white answers about what it is.

Salt_Selection9715

at least $10k a month

americanoaddict

1L is not fatfire
