I’ve read the instructions and they say either floating or glue down is fine. I’m just asking for opinions before I move forward with the floor install
I have done a ton of Coretec. The only time I glued it was for a friend in a wheel chair. Otherwise you just float it and don’t need anymore padding or underlayment. DIYers on here always wanna add more work for themselves. Just snap it together like a puzzle.
I would not glue a floor that has locking joints. Making repairs would be a nightmare. If you’re genuinely interested in glueing, get a floor that is made for glue only as you can easily pull and replace new planks. They’re typically cheaper anyhow
Some Coretec can be glued. It will say in the instructions. One of the few floors that allow it. Laborious to do, but it gives you a quieter and more solid feeling floor.
I would just float it. There are only a few reasons I can think of that I would glue a product like this. Someone else mentioned installing for someone in a wheelchair. Or maybe if I was doing a room that had a lot of really nice vertical wood and I didn't want to have to leave room for expansion gaps.
If you install it floating, you can pull it up at any time in the future and replace it quite easily. If you glue it down, you're gonna create yourself a mess.
Coretec can be glued but you have to use their adhesive if you want a warranty.
That said, why are you considering a glue down? What is the benefit you’re seeking?
Those instructions are in every box, it is up to the installer to determine what kind of floor it is and follow for that floor. This is a floating product so it floats, had this been a glue down then you would glue down.

Does it really say that usually it’s not both
This👍
Coretec is made to float. Do not glue a floating floor. That having been said, glue down is great. But you need a floor that is made to glue down.
Some click floors can be glued. And I'm pretty sure coretec is one of them
Certain cortec floors can definitely be glued. But not all of them. Check the instructions.
Float. Underlayment on Concrete but not necessary over wood.
cortex has underlayment on it already
Not all of them. They’re entry line does not, that said if it already has an attached cork back do not add another layer.

The instructions say either glue down or floating is fine. I just want to know what is better.

Float it. It’s LVP on a wooden subfloor. Gogogo easy install. Beautiful color btw.

love cortex
There is an extra hot room in hell for people that glue down flooring.
Don't glue down over wood subfloor could be pain to demo in future
Can I ask what color that is? It’s beautiful!
Thank you it’s called Gold Coast Acacia from Coretec
I’d go off whatever the manufacturer says to. Glue down has its benefits but if it not mentioned in the instructions you’ll void your warranty.
I don't know that specific material and the answer depends on the material. If gluing down you don't use any underlayment.
Float for sure
Floating

Core tech is intended to be a floating floor do not glue it
He says it says it can be floated for glued on the instructions

OP—I am looking forward to your “Is this pattern ok, or should it be random?!!?” post tomorrow.
That stair step that is getting started is gonna look way more obvious in five rows for sure
Yea not a glue down type
