It’s hard to believe that DOOM Eternal is almost 5 years old at this point. Same with Gears of War Ultimate Edition being like 10. I remember getting it on my brand new Xbox one and it feels like yesterday
Ehhhh don't know about that. I liked it at the time but the MP is bad, the store feels less somber and more flat and a lot of the performances in the game were not great, and I found the levels to be far more straightforward and a bit more boring than Bungie's previous Halo titles.
Halo 5 was not great, but I thought Halo 4 was a great successor to the franchise.
Halo Infinite also brought back CE's feeling of wonder and exploration, but was hamstrung by leadership and a poor rollout.
How can you really blame them though lol? Bungie created the franchise and has multiple banger games under its belt. 343 has owned Halo longer than its original creators yet has pretty much 0 bangers. I like the campaign for Halo 4 and 5 had a good multiplayer but still it never matters it’s either they do solid in one area and then horrible in another.
Then people like to make the annoying argument “Bungie isn’t the same” nonsense when it’s like yeah no shit but they know Halo better than anyone just because Destiny asks for your money more that doesn’t mean Bungie’s modern Halo game would be worse. Destiny is an MMO type game it’s supposed to ask for your money. Every game these days falls victim to corporate practices one way or another. People just like to say anything to deflect hate off of 343. There’s no excuses to be made 343 is awful and can’t do Halo right for anything. The Coalition has done a much better job taking over Gears compared to 343 taking over Halo.
Bungie actually made good games prior to Destiny. 343 has yet to hit the mark even once.
And they've held ownership of Halo longer than Bungie now. Not to mention the entire studio got restructured following Infinite's failure as a "live service" game.
Bro it's been rough
Halo 4, great campaign, iffy mp.
Halo 5, worst campaign in the series, amazing multiplayer
Halo Infinite, great campaign, worst MP in the series
I just want a game that hits on both fronts for once.
At least since Gears 4 and onwards they announce the game about a year or so before it comes out for example Gears 5 was announced June 2018 at e3 and it comes out September 2019
At that point in time Baird was in halvo bay i think, Cole wasn’t unlisted he was still in thrash ball, and dom was 18 so it might be doms brother who is along side Marcus
I’m sure pendulum war ended and e day came a couple of months after right? I’m not too sure but if the game starts like that, I’d be for the best, and then take us to the point where Marcus gets put in jail at least.
Idk man, been announced for wayy too long to not have gameplay shown, and even the cgi trailers have nothing "fable" about them, looks like a generic medieval rpg unfortunately.
I’m curious what you think “fable” looks like. Those trailers are spot on. However they’ve just cranked up the comedic tone. If the fable reboot is anything of the quality of those trailers, it will surpass the originals.
I mean 4 was alright gameplay wise and the chief and Cortana plot was great. 5 was the one that fucked things up. I think infinite is good but with LOAAAAADS of missed potential.
4 was a major step backwards story wise and the idea of humanizing Chief was a mistake that 343 hasn’t even tangibly capitalized on since they tried it.
By only in the games, you mean the main source of the franchise that the developers actually had a say in? The books are glorified fan fiction by outside writers. Bungie historically hated the fact that Microsoft outsourced Halo books, so no, I wouldn’t say that the Chief was “always like that” at all.
Well then you’d just be wrong lol. The books are a fantastic and are very much apart of the lore. If you think they’re just glorified fan fiction, you probably aren’t as big of a halo fan as you think mate
Maybe for Metroid. We get a Doom that is so detached from it's original sources it could be a different IP, and a Gears game from an unproven reorganized TC with a horrid track record. I would be patient and 'wait and see' tbh.
Why does doom, years, Metroid, monster hunter, and black ops all have to come out in the same year 😭 if they were spread out I wouldn't spend less than 100 hrs each on my favorite franchises then have 5 years of looking for what to play lmao
to be fair, pretty much every Gears game (not sure about Gears 1) has been announced about 1 year before planned release. Gears 2-5 all followed that pattern, and even judgment. I wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue with E-Day
To be devil's advocate here MS has been God awful with announcements for games that don't come out years in advance recently. They also seem to be having a lot of issues with their studios hitting deadlines. Going off of this entire generation, I would say 2026 is most likely the year. Idk why they wouldn't give a year at least, makes 2026 seem more likely.
Both gears 4 and gears 5 didn’t get a year when they were announced. To me that’s not much of an indicator given TC’s track record. Definitely agree msft have dropped the ball on releases, particularly with the batch of games that were announced in 2020
Doom been back since 2016
I was gonna say the same thing. Doom been good for a while now
I wish Pete Hines didn't remove Deathmatch from Doom Eternal. Hope it returns for Dark Ages since Pete retired.
Probably wont have mp at all to be honest. Battlemode was such a waste of resources I would be surprised to see doom ever have MP again.
Especially after Quake Champions died. Probably seen as a risky investment.
To be fair, it’s been 4 years since eternal and there was no way of knowing if we’d get another game at all
It’s hard to believe that DOOM Eternal is almost 5 years old at this point. Same with Gears of War Ultimate Edition being like 10. I remember getting it on my brand new Xbox one and it feels like yesterday
Well, Ancient Gods Part 2 is only around 3 years old, which is probably the time reference we should be using for Doom Eternal.
Halo Fans: >:(
Halo fans been taking Ls since November 6th 2012
For real. Halo Reach was the last “good” halo, everything else afterwards feels like an after though. At least Infinite multiplayer is good
Halo 4 is my favorite Halo.
Ehhhh don't know about that. I liked it at the time but the MP is bad, the store feels less somber and more flat and a lot of the performances in the game were not great, and I found the levels to be far more straightforward and a bit more boring than Bungie's previous Halo titles. Everyone in r/shithalosays will disagree
An entire sub of 343 apologists.
It’s infested with BattlePass enjoyers and over priced items in the shop. Also saying “343 was cooking with the Halo 5 story”
For the person who is gonna post this to that sub, please get me in the screenshot!
ME TOO
As opposed to Bungie cock jumpers?
How can you really blame them though lol? Halo fans only think one game is good, they don't have standards
Gears is coming in 2025? I would have expected a release year if so on the trailer if true no? Or dod I miss something?
At least since Gears 4 and onwards they announce the game about a year or so before it comes out for example Gears 5 was announced June 2018 at e3 and it comes out September 2019
Interesting. I'm hella excited for it, seeing the old gang back together and growing together will be nice to see.
At that point in time Baird was in halvo bay i think, Cole wasn’t unlisted he was still in thrash ball, and dom was 18 so it might be doms brother who is along side Marcus
Carlos won't be here, lore reasons. If you haven't read the books. ^^'
He died at the end of the pendulum for all we know start of the game could be pendulum wars then it could go to EDay?
That is fair actually. I didn't get to the end of the book so I'm not fully caught up on the lore in that regard.
I’m sure pendulum war ended and e day came a couple of months after right? I’m not too sure but if the game starts like that, I’d be for the best, and then take us to the point where Marcus gets put in jail at least.
I read somewhere that it's confirmed to be Dom. Like they specifically wrote "yes, he's really back"
Yep, gears 4 was the same
If I remember correctly, Gears 1 even released the same year after being shown at E3 in 2006? Of course games didnt take as long to make back then.
Nope 2005 reveal.
nobody knows, but im expecting fall 2025 as well
I mean I would love it if it is 2025 but I not there's still doom. :)
I’m think 2026 at the earliest
This is what I'm thinking sadly.
Perfect dark too
Fable too
Mario and Luigi fans
BIGGGG FACTS.
Fable too
Idk man, been announced for wayy too long to not have gameplay shown, and even the cgi trailers have nothing "fable" about them, looks like a generic medieval rpg unfortunately.
I’m curious what you think “fable” looks like. Those trailers are spot on. However they’ve just cranked up the comedic tone. If the fable reboot is anything of the quality of those trailers, it will surpass the originals.
I'm actually in agreement, it's taking the tone of 1 and dialling it up, if it's done well it could be the best fable
It was worse back then you could fart on anyone
They did show gameplay. Whether it would perform like that is the real question.
The trailers are all in-game
What?? That's just not true
They have shown gameplay bud
Eh, 2 seconds of scripted action sequences are not the same as raw gameplay
Where you at Halo?
Halo hasn’t been good since reach
Real (I’m a depressed Halo fan)
I’m there with ya man
Infinite’s multiplayer is must fun I’ve had since 3. There’s tons of fun modes and maps with great core gameplay.
I mean 4 was alright gameplay wise and the chief and Cortana plot was great. 5 was the one that fucked things up. I think infinite is good but with LOAAAAADS of missed potential.
5’s multiplayer was incredible honestly but the story and artstyle were unsalvagable
4 was a major step backwards story wise and the idea of humanizing Chief was a mistake that 343 hasn’t even tangibly capitalized on since they tried it.
4 was a mistake in game design. Enemy behaviour being random, and the "serious" colour palette were a disaster.
"Being random" You must LOVE the flood, lol
Chief has always been like that, we just never saw it in the games. I prefer it to him being some regular action hero
Reach wasn't even good
Halo fans when the game isn't literally Halo 3 again: >:O
Halo needs a break like Gears, some when it does come back, it's gets hyped
Killed by 343 😢
6 feet under
Dying in 343s arms
They should be there too. Instead they’re laying butt naked in life support
Games not out yet, so don't get your hops up but I pray it's good.
Don't forget warhammer fans
Metal gear solid fans
Also silent hill fans
MvC is back, baby!
Gears of war was my first game I played in HD (720p). I never forget how much of a transformation SD to HD was. Baird's hair looked amazing.
Never played metroid but love the other 2. Playing Doom since '94
2025.. the year of BLOOD CURDLING SCREAMS soaked IN TESTOSTERONE! SLAY! CURB-STOMP! AND KILL!
Halo Fans: =(
I am cautiously optimistic about gears
Metroid has been back since 2022 tho
Prime series tho
I mean it was delayed a lot but we knew it was actively coming
Grand Thet Auto 6
GTA was never gone tho
Maybe for Metroid. We get a Doom that is so detached from it's original sources it could be a different IP, and a Gears game from an unproven reorganized TC with a horrid track record. I would be patient and 'wait and see' tbh.
Perfect
E-Day is coming out next year already?
Metroid's getting a new game too? Cool!
Metroid prime 4 got shown off yesterday
Don’t forget Perfect Dark babyyy
We need a great Quake comeback. The franchise lore is very good, and a proper campaign could be amazing. Quake 4 was underrated.
Then there’s cod fans joining in without invitation lol
Was there actual 2025 date in the trailer I assumed it’s for 2026
Can’t forget Fable fans
Comming soon I doubt it will be in 2025... would be nice tho
Based!
Just jizzed
You forgot Fable fans! :(
Why does doom, years, Metroid, monster hunter, and black ops all have to come out in the same year 😭 if they were spread out I wouldn't spend less than 100 hrs each on my favorite franchises then have 5 years of looking for what to play lmao
Hope we get a doom guy skin in multiplayer Still loving my Reach and Terminator skins
Then zoom out and see gta 6 is the sun over earth
Payday fans:
Hey, State of Decay fans as well, to a degree
I’m so excited to get back to fighting locusts again. Not the discount locusts
If graphics are like gears 3 it's going to be banger
I’d personally add “Mario and Luigi RPG fans” too. GOATED series.
Also a DOOM fan. MF DOOM that is, not the game. Honestly DOOM would make an amazing character for multiplayer
Halo grousing sadly in its corner.
Dont forget about us Mahvel fans.
I saw nothing about Metroid
Being a huge fan of all 3 I'm eating well
We don’t really thing gears is out in 2025 right? If I was a betting man, early 2026
to be fair, pretty much every Gears game (not sure about Gears 1) has been announced about 1 year before planned release. Gears 2-5 all followed that pattern, and even judgment. I wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue with E-Day

Pls... can we get half life 3 and kotor remake
Where's GTA 6 at?
Close. Doom hasn't been good since the 90s, but metroid and gears are gonna been lit.
Word, bitch..! Phantoms like a mofucker..
