Welcome to r/GermanRoaches. Please see the [stickied post](https://www.reddit.com/r/GermanRoaches/comments/ongygk/please_read_this_sticky_before_posting_thank_you/) at the top of the sub for all you need to know about battling these bugs. It is a result of 35 years of experience in the pest control business. Many, many success stories have been reported after following the advice there. If you have questions about Alpine WSG please [see the label](https://www.cdms.net/ldat/ldARP002.pdf) first. If you live in Canada near the border, please check [this link](https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/publications/product-safety/importing-pesticides-personal-use.html) for information on importing pesticides for personal use. You need to personally be present to bring it over the border, so not everyone will be able to do this, but hopefully some of you find it helpful. Most provinces in Canada require that landlords deal with roach problems, so if you rent you may also be able to go that route. If neither of these is an option your best bet is to hire a pro. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. German roaches are objectistic insects. They prefer tight crevices or something is touching their back and stomach. I guess it's just a basic instinct. Add heat and they are happy to reproduce. Put that near a water source and they will have a whole ecosystem going on. It's the small crevices that allow the German nymphs to reach a size that they are no longer food for the adult males. The more crevices there are the more likely the roach population will explode because of the number of surviving nymphs. Starting in the kitchen people should check all their electronics for roach activity. Secondary the bathrooms and then the living room and bedrooms. Telephones, radios, game systems, TVs, computers and anything that's warm and has crevices are likely to be infested if there is a roach issue in the apartment or house. One roach can have up to 48 babies of which about 35 make it out of the ootheca case. Roaches have survived extremely well for centuries.

Should we look out for whole nests in our units and/or do they always nest? I swear the ones I see either hide in others units or in connecting pipes. My router isn’t near water and is on a dusty bookshelf, a few feet high. Have seen almost no activity near there. I’ll put a glue trap just to see

Roaches either trickle in from connecting units or have a nest in the unit. They prefer to be very close to water sources like the kitchen and bathrooms. Once you have the conditions that allow them to breed to high numbers in your unit, they will start to expand into the joining rooms. Your electronics will be ok as long as you are not seeing roaches in that area. A insect monitor in that area never hurts anything

I would be pissed if they nested in my gaming PC... I don't think they have though. I did the gentrol and non repellent route for my apartment. Not seen any in a month. I use to see them daily, nymphs around dog bowls, egg cases on counter tops.

I hate to tell you this pimp but I didn’t see them for years. They were there. Def there. You’ll see them one day. It took us a whole year to see one on top. You should go to Walmart and grab peppermint oil. I put it in a bottle and mix it with Lysol and water to mask a diffusing spray. After which I spray on a wipe and wipe down all my electronics. I also use it for pillows, bedding, walls. Just about everything. I used to find them in my bed at one point. Now they hate it
