In one of the only satisfying events to happen to Erebus, Horus skins his face off and reminds him that it's the Horus Heresy and not the Erebus Heresy.

Erebus or better, "Erebus", killed the original Erebus and took over his identity. He was not a good man, he likes to stab others in the back, both enemies and his own allies. He killed Argel Tal, his fellow Word Bearer and also Garviel Loken, both by stabbing them in the back. His killing of Argel Tal ensured Angron to turn into whatever he became and his killing of Erebus caused Samus to emerge, again, kickstarting the Heresy.
I'd like to add he stabbed Garviel Loken in the back while he and Abbadon where having a real solem moment after the death of Horus, little bitch wouldn't even let them mourn
I can only recommend to listen to the audiobooks as i'm doing right now. Always wondered why people hated erebus and after the first book the lightbulb above my head popped up as i was thinking "fuck erebus"
