Took out the Big Zam like a boss, but will never get to taste Mirai's pineapple salad. Just like his younger cousin from a different super dimension.
9.5
Slugger went out like a BAMF, Roy went out like a dumbass.
Don't get me wrong, I love macross. I love Roy... but WTF dude, couldn't be bothered to swing by medical and get stitched up and a iv bag? Like... if they'd have made a comment about "oh, we don't have his blood type" or... and this is my personal head cannon... his exposure to the birdman in Macross 0 left him with some sort of blood cancer ( but was exposure to fold bacteria, just they hadn't been discovered yet so it was misdiagnosed as blood cancer ) and was dying anyways, hence why he was more of an instructor prior to the Macross launching, he was loosing his reflexes, and because they were stuck so far out, he had no choice but to become active again... so when he got wounded, they didn't have any blood that would work, so he didn't even bother so they wouldn't waste any of their limited medical resources on him....
I thought the portrayal was that Roy's injuries were fatal, even with treatment, and he knew it. He chose to see Claudia again instead of going to the hospital.
His body was shot through like 10 times. A blood transfusion wasn't going to save him.
It's been a bit, but didn't he have time to change out of his pilot suit, then drive to Claudia's? If he had that much, chances are they could have patched him up
There was a lot of blood on his seat in the cockpit already. It's hard to tell, but I think he lost too much blood.

He had enough to change, drive to Claudia's, take a seat and start playing his guitar... internal damage aside if it was just blood loss, medical could have saved him
There's a scene where he hits on the female crew, gets turned down, shrugs it off and turns to the guys and says "Well then boys how about we hit those showers" and walks off with them.
Absolutely incredible. Completely unshakeable.
Your reasoning makes sense, Mu definitely has a lot of sleggar’s personality I prefer to think mu is Quattro, mostly because everyone is char. Since Athrun is char, and Rau is char’s counterattack, and Kira is Sayla’s brother, and Neo is Full Frontal.
Also, most of them are Zex marquis.
Best character of MSG, who uses violent, unprovoked physical assault to improve lives.
In The Origin, he pilots a sick painted custom GM too.
10/10 as I stare at his gunpla on my case.
Listen up you primitive screwheads, Mirai did not “randomly” fall in love with him after getting slapped. Her burgeoning psychic powers had afforded her various glimpses of future sight up to that point and prior to their kiss at Solomon she got an overwhelming sense of THIS DUDE GONNA DIE. Upon hearing his craft was hit she rushes down to find him A-OK munching burger. Now that feeling hadn’t gone away, even seeing this, and Mirai was about to blow her metaphysical stack. Sleggar, being a red blooded MANS MAN full of hamburg and machismo, saw this beautiful young woman he tried to both entice and push away rush to his side with tears in her eyes. He absolutely misread the signs and went and planted a fat one on her. (Bright also misread the signs because he’s an insecure petulant child) This was him being completely honest as well, saying he was no good for her, but maybe…just maybe she could hold onto this ring till he gets back. Mirai of course responded with “abloobloobloo” and Sleggar flew off to his duty and death.
He wasn’t with the crew long, and honestly he was kind of a lousy shot, but he was a fresh perspective from the outside into this little nuclear family on white base. Gimmie a 7.
[Sleggar "Laying Down the" Law](https://imgur.com/RW3f2MO) is yet another 10/10 character. [Such a fuckin goof.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnBraow1DH4) Tried so hard to get these kids to like him, affecting a "cooler older brother" sorta deal, but almost constantly winds up making a complete ass of himself. Regardless of that, a decent chunk of the crew, mostly the younger guys, do seem to warm up to him, with the rest tolerating him. And then he goes & does the big damn hero sacrifice & everyone's sad.
Man, I gotta get his GM outta my backlog. Probably will be the kit I learn water slides on.
I always imagine him with a John-Wayne-imitation-sounding-voice, for some reason, maybe because of the Abridged series, IDK if they got to him or not.
I'd give him a solid 8.
Guy is balsy and badass, a real soldier (together with Ryu) on the White Base crew
Wish he got to pilot a GM like in Origin or lived to later UC stages
Wish we got more of him and he should have been delivered with his own GM along with two other piolets and machines to give whitebase a real edge!
8/10 if only his potential wasn't stunted to protect the main cast.
In MSG 79 he got on my nerves at first. In Cucuriuz Doan's Island, his landing on Doan's Island was just impeccable. Re watched some MSG 79 and changed my opinion completely. Solid dude, 9/10 if I had to rate it
Man stared down a Zeon Wunderwaffe suit that had just gotten done devastating a Federation fleet with a fuckin core fighter to give Amuro the chance to take it out.
10/10
I’m glad that we got him, he looks older than most of the crew and it made the show more varied. White base was mostly made of young conscripts and youngsters hired on the spot because the adults died from the attacks or protecting them.
79’s is more warlike and serious than any other and that’s why it’s my favorite.
9/10 cause he slapped Mirai and that aged like milk.
5/10 One of the first casualties of Tomino’s habit of uneven writing on side characters. Rather than coming off as having layers or depth, it just seemed like he randomly changed motivations and attitudes to suit writing some drama for Mirai.
Not really my type, but he has enough depth & awareness that he doesn’t come off as total douchebag (i could easily see him be worse in a diffrent kind of show for example), so I’ll give him a respectable 6.5/10
1/10. Misogynistic piece of shit. Just because he correctly identified Mirai's ex as a patronizing nice-guy doesn't mean Sleggar is any better. Just because Mirai had some initial attraction to him doesn't excuse his behavior.
I give him 1 point for dying heroically.

he and Focker would be best buds
Has there been a SRW with both of them in it?
There's a scene where he hits on the female crew, gets turned down, shrugs it off and turns to the guys and says "Well then boys how about we hit those showers" and walks off with them. Absolutely incredible. Completely unshakeable.
10/10 Inspired Roy Focker and Mu La Flaga.
Finally! I got downvoted when I suggested Mu was based on Sleggar.
Sleggar is the archetype so not sure why you got downvoted.
Mu’s the rare Char and Sleggar hybrid where he gets the best of both worlds, like strawberry ice cream or chicken fried bacon.
Best character of MSG, who uses violent, unprovoked physical assault to improve lives. In The Origin, he pilots a sick painted custom GM too. 10/10 as I stare at his gunpla on my case.
I love that sleggar law custom so much. That shade of blue just looks so good
peak fuck boy
10 A chad amongs chads Also fun fact: he was major influence to Yoko Taro when writing the character of Leonard in Drakengard
Wasnt Leonard the pedo curch guy that gets eaten by big demon babys in the end ???
Shhh that's the spicy details we left unsaid
8/10. If only he could finish that hamburger…

Man nearly died and his first action afterwards is get a celebratory burger. Absolute King behavior.
The greatest earth federation officer no questions asked

‘I want to ride your back’
Slap 👋

I always heard him as a bad Han Solo impersonation
8/10 Laid the foundation for other clones of him
Guy is balsy and badass, a real soldier (together with Ryu) on the White Base crew Wish he got to pilot a GM like in Origin or lived to later UC stages
His custom GM in the origin had a dope colour scheme
"I'll ride you with this!" 9/10
I love him. He reminds me of a 1950s space opera hero.
Wish we got more of him and he should have been delivered with his own GM along with two other piolets and machines to give whitebase a real edge! 8/10 if only his potential wasn't stunted to protect the main cast.
10/10
All Swagger

Law was a cool dude. I wish he stayed around longer.

Peak American stereotypical soldier tbh. Sexually harassed female soldiers, cares about guns, dies via self sacrifice.
This might be a hot take, but I don't really like the guy. 4/10.
I'm right there with you, everything about him rubbed me the wrong way.
20/20
10/10 hands were rated e for everyone
A true Sigma to the end
Died way too soon.
Wow
Gigachad before Gigachad was mainstream. 10/10
He was evidently too based to live 9
Dooooooooosh
10/10 should have survived a bit longer
He was pretty funny but if he slaps my girl Mirai again then shit gonna get real /jk
Man stared down a Zeon Wunderwaffe suit that had just gotten done devastating a Federation fleet with a fuckin core fighter to give Amuro the chance to take it out. 10/10

The guy I would marry if I was gay
Giga Chad
He's a sleazy asshole and I hate him. Good riddance upon his death. 2/10

He wrote the law on spitting game
Chad / 10 Honestly, he should have lived. I felt his sacrifice was mid, but doesn’t hit home. Also, one of my go-tos in Gihren’s Greed.

The better Ryu. His only fault is he wasn’t in enough episodes.
10/10, Federation's coolest dude. 👉👈 https://preview.redd.it/12ulfaejgfwc1.png?width=668&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc8c515798257727b455f60175e7b0913d9219b2
Why are the people posting these What do you think about x character all the same? Are these bots that farm karma? Guess it's true huh
