Bad News is one of my top episodes. I was so focused on finding all the countdown numbers, I never saw the ending coming. It hit me hard, still does every time I watch it.
I want to say the following episode should be included in conjunction with Bad News as they go hand-in-hand.

I didn’t know about the numbers until recently either. We were working on a rewatch around the time my dad passed and that episode came up shortly after. That is when we realized it was a countdown. It hit me so damn hard.

The Best Burger in New York and Mary the Paralegal is one of my go to episode whenever I feel like watching a single episode of HIMYM. Until now, I still hate Barney for causing Ted to lose his chance with Mary the Paralegal. I mean....damn.

This is a good one. I think Alyson Hannigan is a great actress, I love storylines with her character development. When she breaks down to Marshall about not getting to live her dreams hits hard everytime. I’m glad they ended up going to Rome, Lily may have her flaws but I think she deserved to live her dream for a year

One of my favorite episodes is the Blitz episode. My wife and I watched that episode air while in the hospital after she gave birth to my daughter. We never watched the show prior to that night so it instantly became a favorite. I’ve watched the series a number of times and that episode is still my favorite. Another favorite is the Super Bowl episode where they have to TiVo the game to watch it after Marks wake. lol
Lucky Penny. A great example of how one thing leads to another, and what may seem insignificant (finding an old penny) can end up becoming the moment you've always waited for (meeting The Mother).

subway wars!! its one of the most underrated episodes and i show it to anyone who wants to watch himym but doesnt wanna watch the pilot (theres people like that) its a good intro ep bc it doesn't have any spoilers as we know ted is an architect, marshall and lily are getting married and robin is a news reporter in s1

Season 4. I think it’s the best season and when they hit the perfect rhythm of comedy, drama, and feel good.
Seasons 3 and 4 are perfect imo and canon what himym is all about... And S5 is almost to that level, but misses sometimes.
One I would add to the list always as a top5 for me cuz there's so many good ones is Murtagh, it's just a fun ridiculous episode
