Who he also cheated on her with. That always bugged me. I get that by that point years had passed and yes there friend group/lives were very much intertwined so it was absolutely a difficult situation to be in- I respect that. But Victoria had every reason to ask that tbh
Agreed Ted was about to cheat on Victoria with Robin.
Also Robin moved out and stopped hanging out for a while out of respect for Don.
Victoria was right Robin was the reason things never worked out for Ted.
When Robin finally married Barney and no longer available. He finally moved on with Tracey.
I always felt Ted was way more into Robin than Robin ever was into Ted.
Yeah I don’t think my husband would mind. He might not like it if I asked to marry Marshall though, plus I wouldn’t want to be subjected to Lily’s form of justice. 😂
Believe it or not there are people who are complete neat freaks and super organized in their workplace, but are slobs at home haha. Like to them it’s the only space to not obsess about little details. Chefs can be like that. Not saying all, it’s just—they exist
Honestly, it’s more realistic perfectionists like chefs often give up by the time they get home so they seem like slobs when in reality they don’t want to start cleaning if they don’t have the time to make it perfect
And she did… sometimes it feels like an audience has a dream (in this case, bringing back Victoria to be with Ted) and the writers will grant the wish to literally just to forcibly kill it (making Victoria a slob) in order to go with an agenda they are dead set on and force everyone to be on board with it (putting Ted with Robin in this case). They could have organically killed the romance without making Victoria a slob and making the breakup, again, about Robin so Ted could be with Tracy, but it wouldn’t have set up that (yet another) final return to Robin.
Victoria was season one. They made her so good either because they needed an exit strategy if the show was cut short or because they were still figuring stuff out in the show and didnt realize victoria would be a fan favorite. It
That's actually pretty realistic. Many people act completely different at home than they do at work, precisely because *they have to* behave in a certain way at work, so at home they can decompress. There's a saying in my country: “blacksmiths use wooden knifes”.
Here we say "Cordonnier mal chaussé" it translates to "Poorly shod shoemaker".
And you are right, when I was cooking for a living, I didn't want to cook anymore when I was home so I ate a lot of pre made meals or fast and easy recipes. When I was a hairdresser, I always had beautiful hairstyles but if you saw me on a free day I always wore them natural without doing anything and look like a lion or something haha.
Sorry for my english, it's not my first language.
Season 1 Victoria was a catch and Ted lying about being broken up so he could try to nail Robin was the biggest mistake he made all series. Victoria when she came back later on the other hand wouldn’t be a good partner if you were in Ted’s shoes and I’d be hesitant to get with someone if I found out they’d left a previous partner at the altar and run off with an ex
> I’d be hesitant to get with someone if I found out they’d left a previous partner at the altar and run off with an ex
Jesus I didn't put that together. so Ted was Tony the second time around? WTF Ted?
Nah. She's 5-1-6! She might dress like she's 7-1-8, act like she's 2-1-2, but trust me... she's 5-1-6! Oh and her husband letting her out alone on St. Pattie's Day, if that dude's not 9-7-3. I'm 3-0-7!
The fact that this comment is not the most upvotted comment is a CRIME. How dare all of you upvote other comments and not this one!!! FRIENDSHIP OVER!!!
For anyone that doesn't know NYC area codes ....
718 - Outer boroughs
212 - Manhattan
516 - Long Island
973 - New Jersey
So she dresses like she's from Brooklyn, acts like she's from Manhattan, but she's from Long Island, and her boyfriend letting her out is a New Jersey move.
Oh there was definitely a reason. Because she was so perfect for Ted, fans were always confused on why she wasn’t the mother. They brought her back to basically ruin her character so Tracy would be more perfect by comparison. Which personally, I do think Tracy was always better for Ted regardless but this is the reason why
That was the whole reason for the “Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz” speech in season 7. They made a point about Victoria being the “Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand” so fans would stop
Yes to season 1 Victoria. The writers obviously had to give her something for them to break up so they wrote in the slob thing. Tbh if she was a slob Ted would have noticed in season 1 itself.
I agree with you on Tracy. She was too perfect for Ted and too unrealistic. That's why they didn't really let us spend time with her because we would have not liked her as she would be too perfect and nobody is like that.i had hoped in the end Ted would have found someone he loved who would be nothing like what his checklist described and the moral to his kids would have been just find someone who accepts you as you are rather than chasing an imaginary checklist.
(It could have been that if the mother had been Victoria or Robin)
Fun fact about the show: She was the backup mom. She would get mentioned when they didn't know if they were coming back for another season.
But yeah, I'd totally marry season 1 Victoria.
Drumroll, Please is still my most favorite episode of all time! I loved Tracy, but Victoria as the mother would have been so perfect! They had great chemistry but they weren't complete mirrors. Like, what happened to the olive theory?!
I loved her, I was disappointed when she and Ted broke up when I was watching it the first time.
She's beautiful, nice, caring and perfect for Ted. She really loved Ted, even left the German dude at the altar.
I don't still know what Ted saw in Robin. She was a total bitch (sorry for using this word), but honestly. Robin and Ted had different future plans.
Tracy is perfect for Ted too but she's different,.
And to answer your question that I totally ignored- YES.
I would give up friendship with Robin a million times for Vic.
Tbh I can’t stand Victoria for several reasons I’ve listed too many times on other threads. BUT! I’m so glad you said what you said about Tracy. I’ve been saying the exact same thing while feeling all alone!
I’ve been saying that we needed 2-3 seasons to get to know Tracy and her relationship with Ted, to make her a real person, to make their relationship relatable— both with positive traits and flaws.
But Tracy is, as you put it perfectly, a mirror to every. single. one. of Ted’s idiosyncrasies. It’s entirely unrealistic. I think Tracy had a lot of potential to be a wonderfully charming realistic character had they let her be her own person and to have qualities that conflict with Ted’s. It almost makes it seem like Ted is incapable of having a healthy relationship if he’s with someone who has never challenged him in their entire time together.
Of course we only saw a blip of their relationship, but it was on the show to give us more of it and to develop a fair and full perspective on Tracy as a person and on Tracy and Ted as a couple.
Can’t stand Victoria, though, sorry. 😝
Yeas! She was the hottest of all Ted's gfs IMO
And honestly , he had twice as much chemistry with [season1] Victoria than he ever had with Tracey OR robin.
I live very close to Germany, you can drive there from Denmark, so moving wouldn’t have been as big an issue for me as it was for Ted, so most like yes
Btw, if the show wasn't renewed after season 1, Victoria would have been the mother. The same went for Stella and Zoey. The ending of how Ted was telling the story to explain how he always felt connected to Robin was decided from the start, so there was always a good option for the mother in case they needed to wrap it up at the last minute.
Nope, I’m waaaay to young, but for the hypothetical, if I was that age and ready for marriage- hell yea, she’s beautiful, smart, and overall a well rounded individual!
Honestly think so too!! Never understood the appeal of her character. She’s kind and good looking, but unbelievably boring. Was relieved when she left for Germany.
She was involved with Klaus while they were still together, even if not physically (for 24 hours), and goes out the window at her own wedding to find an ex.
She's held up to be this perfect ideal in a way I think is funny, compared to Robin, Stella, etc.
Well I wouldn’t because I’m a woman and don’t swing that way. But also I never got the hype about her. All the “drumroll” stuff was just silly. If he hadn’t hunted her down they never would have dated. When Ted called her on the day of her wedding he didn’t know she was leaving it. Also klaus left the wedding too so why did Victoria think Ted should owe her Dad anything for the wedding? I thought she was a bit of an ass about Teds complaints about Klauss behaviour when he lived with him. It’s not unreasonable to expect a guest not to run around your place starkers and let his pets run wild. Finally she should have been up front and talked to Ted about where there relationship was going instead of all those hints and digs. All in all I don’t think she was such a great catch.
(I am already married irl) But if I wasn’t, still a hesitant no but thats just because I don’t know like what kind of music she likes, tv shows, movies, is she introverted or extroverted? Is she ok with having pets (besides ferrets)? what are her interests are outside of baking (baking is cool tho)?
But for Ted I really like him with Tracey. But if it wasn’t for her then yeah should’ve been Victoria.
Well... Victoria was supposed to be the mother, but because the series lasted too many seasons, they had to introduce "another mother" - in the end it was Tracy.
I agree that Ted should have ended up with Victoria. Even if he had met Victoria instead of Robin in the end, it would have been so much better.
Not at all. She kissed Ted while being engaged with Klaus, and she did try to run away with Ted during her wedding. I'm not marrying that. If she done this once, she might do it again
Yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes yes yes yes yes!
Anytime, anyday, anywhere!..
Because, just like Ted, she is the one for me too,
That's what I think tough,!
Season 1 yes. Season 7? Maybe.
Her ditching her wedding is a red flag to planning a wedding with her, but Victoria season 1 was perfection, and I really hate people who slag her off.
Though honestly she isn't that bad even in the later seasons. "Don't be so hung up on Robin" is reasonable... hell I think every fan said it at least once, and definitely during the ending...
Ted just didn't let go off of Robin. The moment he thought Robin was the one he stopped looking at other girls as gfs. They were only a fling for him and deep down he knew he couldn't settle for anyone except Robin. I feel like Robin was a very independent woman who didn't need a man or children. She was very happy with her dogs and her job. Ted was always a boy bsf for her and if they've broken up that many times, there obviously is something that doesn't work between the two. Victoria was the best ex Ted could've married. Hell I shipped them more than i shipped Ted with Tracy. She was a special girl and is the best pick for Ted
Ted almost married Stella, after Robin went on his wedding and asked him not to, Victoria first went to Germany after few months of dating, their relationship was over then and they both knew it, the second time around, she gave him an ultimatum to stop being friends with Robin, how exactly that was going to work, they have mutual friends, if he stop hanging out with Robin, he stops hanging out with everyone
I agree with what you are saying but at last it is the writer's fault who actually changed their life goals and partners abruptly in like the last two seasons. Ngl he could've never had any successful relationships with Robin as his first choice.
Are we forgetting that she fell in love with another guy less than 24 hours after landing in Germany?
Yes, her feud with Robin was 100% justified and on any other aspect she was the perfect girl, but she lost that status as soon as she stepped down from the airplane.
The introduction of Vittoria's character, in terms of script and execution, is perhaps the best of the entire series, better than that of Robin and Tracy. The scenes with Ted and Vittoria in the first 2 or 3 episodes in which she appears would also have been excellent in a Hollywood romantic comedy for the cinema
Victoria from season 1, with the quickness! She was perfect!
Victoria from the later seasons tho.....
I mean, she could still get it, but ya ain't gon' see no ring on this finger.
Absolutely. During the first watch through, I truly thought it would work out. Especially with them trying long distance. When she appears later on, I was dead set on her being the one. But Robin ruined that.
IMO: I think Victoria’s request for Ted to stop hanging out with Robin was justified. Especially since he cheated on Victoria with Robin. And Ted was never over Robin. While I did enjoy Tracy, I think Ted ruined a good thing by choosing Robin over Victoria.
Well, she bakes and has a good head on her shoulders. She was also right in predicting Ted would never let go of Robin completely (considering the standard ending, even though I prefer alternate).
If she were a man, then sure.
Victoria was so right about Robin. It’s funny I recently rewatched the episode where she says to Ted “I really hope you get her someday” and lol he does. Victoria deserved better than Ted. She did right walking away.
The show trying to make her the bad guy for asking Ted to distance himself from the woman he cheated on her with leading to them not speaking for eight years is completely insane
Yes. Her “Please stop talking with the girl you’ve dated and at one point were openly obsessed with” stipulation was absolutely reasonable.
Who he also cheated on her with. That always bugged me. I get that by that point years had passed and yes there friend group/lives were very much intertwined so it was absolutely a difficult situation to be in- I respect that. But Victoria had every reason to ask that tbh
And he does go right back to her in the end, after all, so Victoria is absolutely vindicated.
AND SHES SMOKING
AND A GREAT BAKER
YUUUUUUUUUUP
Yeah being friends with an ex is one thing. But being friends with a girl you cheated with while dating the girl you cheated on is another.
I think that happens to a lot of us. Since the day i met my ex i truly felt like she was my soulmate, i never felt like it was hers.
>I always felt Ted was way more into Robin than Robin ever was into Ted Duh?????
Ted the reacher
I'd have to run it by my wife first but if she's on board, then yeah for sure
She should at least be your free pass, if your wife has a problem with that I would move to San Francisco.
Maybe a back up wife? In case the current wife gets some weird hiccup disease.
Wife is on board!!!
Same
Yeah I don’t think my husband would mind. He might not like it if I asked to marry Marshall though, plus I wouldn’t want to be subjected to Lily’s form of justice. 😂
Season 1 Victoria absolutely in a heartbeat
You mean that figuratively.
I literally mean literally
Lit👏er👏al👏ly
Do you know what a clapback is Raymond? 👏 Be 👏 cause 👏 I 👏 do
Marc Evan Jackson is fucking fantastic. If you’ve never listened to Sparks Nevada, you should
B99 reference here was unexpected, but very welcome
Season one Victoria? Absolutely. Return Victoria? Not so much.
They made her a slob😭
Yeah, that was out of character 😭 She works with food, she’s supposed to care about stuff being clean and everything
I cook for a living. At work my station is clean as hell. At home, I've spent 3 weeks trying to clean up my bedroom and still not done.
Chef here, my kitchen is my holy place, but i care less about other rooms. 😂
I am the polar opposite. It a slob but crazy unorganized in my work stuff. Very particular for personal items
I love season one Victoria🥰
Oh, honey. If only you knew what chefs and cooks were really like.
I believe they’re on record as saying Victoria was absolutely the bail out option if they didn’t get picked up for season 2
That's actually pretty realistic. Many people act completely different at home than they do at work, precisely because *they have to* behave in a certain way at work, so at home they can decompress. There's a saying in my country: “blacksmiths use wooden knifes”.
What country are you from that saying is pretty cool
idk where they're from, but it's a very common saying in latin countries. we use it often here in brazil and in other parts of south america
Pretty cool, thanks for the info!
Here we say "Cordonnier mal chaussé" it translates to "Poorly shod shoemaker". I've always felt like that was the only compelling reason they could think of to explain why Ted didn't marry her.
So convenient for them to do that hey!! Legit just cos it wasn’t the plan for Victoria to be “your mother” lol
I can fix her
😂😂😂
I love Victoria, especially in season one. Hell to the yes🥰
For those, I mean for that, I mean for her I would
Someone was finally brave enough to say it
Up top 🖐️
Boobs?
yes and a barney quote
Shes so damn gorgeous and so lovely

Victoria isnt really my type but I thought she was great for Ted (until they brought her back for no reason & made her a slob)
Oh there was definitely a reason. Because she was so perfect for Ted, fans were always confused on why she wasn’t the mother. And made the breakup about Robin again to force the Ted and Robin reunion that almost no one except the writers wanted.
They brought her back to be the mother until CBS insisted on a 9th season.
She does have some sweet buns
Sticky too😆
Absolutely. A gorgeous woman who can bake 😍
I married one, and can confirm it’s fucking awesome!
one might say legend- ….
DARY
Absolutely she checks all the boxes for being my dream girl: 1: she owns a bakery
Yes
Heck Yes! She was the one!

lol yes.
In a heartbeat
Yeah! For that smile alone. She is GORGEOUS.
Absofukkenlutely
Fun fact about the show: She was the backup mom. She would get mentioned when they didn't know if they were coming back for another season. But yeah, I'd totally marry season 1 Victoria.
Maybe… I’ll def beat that thang up tho lol
yes! victoria!!! i love tracy, but yeah, she didnt seem like a real person to me too
Season 1 Victoria was better than Robin through the whole series imo.
Yup 100% agreed
Yes.
Yes
Without a doubt. Victoria is a keeper and Ted made a mistake letting her go. She is my favorite of the girls outside The Mother
Drumroll, Please is still my most favorite episode of all time! I loved Tracy, but Victoria as the mother would have been so perfect! They had great chemistry but they weren't complete mirrors. Like, what happened to the olive theory?!
I wanna marry the wedding cakes she makes 😋
You & Marshall lol
He should have went to Germany with her. I would marry her in a NY minute.
I think you never tasted her cake...
Yes, absolutely. While writing this comment, I realized my ex was very Victoria-coded, sadly, she wasn't my lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
At this point in my life I can’t be picky, so if I had a chance, sure.
She was soooo annoying and corny. Least favorite legitimate contender.
I’d give up limbs if I had too. Or fingers at least.
I watched the show late but wasn’t aware of any spoilers. When she came back later on, I legit thought she was the mother
No, I want me some of those woo girls.
Wooooooo!!!
Yes and Ted should have if he was smart
*insert meme of spamming the red button that says marry Victoria*
Btw, if the show wasn't renewed after season 1, Victoria would have been the mother. The same went for Stella and Zoey. I loved Victoria… she was my fave … I didn’t love the way things went down when she came back but overall I loved her
A strange question. Absolutely
In a heartbeat. I’d even go to Germany. She was amazing.
God damn yes
yeah I'd marry her... not sure that's saying much though because I'd marry anyone at this point lol
I would marry season 1 Victoria in a heartbeat!
Yes absolutely
Fuck yesss
Definitely
I actually wouldn’t marry (or even date) any of Ted’s gfs… I’d rather steal one from Barney or Marshall
No, she is just boring.
Honestly think so too!! Never understood the appeal of her character. She’s kind and good looking, but unbelievably boring. Was relieved when she left for Germany.
She was the best person for Ted. I never liked Robin
There's this invisible high horse she rides on. I do not like such people.
She was involved with Klaus while they were still together, even if not physically (for 24 hours), and goes out the window at her own wedding to find an ex. She's held up to be this perfect ideal in a way I think is funny, compared to Robin, Stella, etc.
No. Cause I’m already a big guy. And I’d only get bigger eating her tasty cakes and culinary delights! 🤣😂🤣
Well I wouldn’t because I’m a woman and don’t swing that way. But also I never got the hype about her. All the “drumroll” stuff was just silly. No. I already found my soulmate and I wouldn't trade her for any other woman.
Season 1 Victoria in a heartbeat. But when they brought her back she wasn’t the same. And so, I would not pursue later season Victoria
I feel like they made her less appealing as “the mother” so we’d like Tracy better
She's still way better than Tracy, in my opinion.
100%
Y e s
Before Germany, yes
Absolutely. 100% yes.
(I am already married irl) But if I wasn’t, still a hesitant no but thats just because I don’t know like what kind of music she likes, tv shows, movies, is she introverted or extroverted? For the cupcakes alone yes
she’s fine as hell, but not my type as far as long term compatibility is concerned
Of course I'd marry those - I mean that - I mean it - I mean HER!
I was hoping for her, but I liked the mother they chose.
But... She likes cats!
Sure.
Well... Victoria was supposed to be the mother, but because the series lasted too many seasons, they had to introduce "another mother" - in the end it was Tracy. I would’ve left with her to Germany. I can be an architect anywhere
No…..
Not a guy but I absolutely love Victoria the first episode she showed up, and my memory just stayed there till the end of the show
probably why not
Yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes! yes yes yes yes yes! Anytime, anyday, anywhere!.. Because, just like Ted, she is the one for me too, That's what I think tough,!
Yes! She's my crush.
In a heartbeat. She was perfect!
yeah not later seasons victoria though

Nope
But she want to go to german and you live in a apartment with a cool bar downstair in the greatest city in the world
Yes and had I been Ted, I would've gone to Germany with her.
Any dude who says no is a homosexual
Are we forgetting that she fell in love with another guy less than 24 hours after landing in Germany? Yes, her feud with Robin was 100% justified and on any other aspect she was the perfect girl, but she lost that status as soon as she stepped down from the airplane.
No my wife would be very angry if I married another woman
The introduction of Vittoria's character, in terms of script and execution, is perhaps the best of the entire series, better than that of Robin and Tracy. The scenes with Ted and Vittoria in the first 2 or 3 episodes in which she appears would also have been excellent in a Hollywood romantic comedy for the cinema
Victoria from season 1, with the quickness! She was perfect! Victoria from the later seasons tho..... I mean, she could still get it, but ya ain't gon' see no ring on this finger.
1000% yes no hesitation
definitely YEEEEEEES
Anytime, anywhere. Just take care of the wedding arrangements.
yes, no doubt
Not to mention she's a baker. I'd get even fatter being married to her, lol. Edit: I forgot to add, hell yes.
Well, she bakes and has a good head on her shoulders. She was also right in predicting Ted would never let go of Robin completely (considering the standard ending, even though I prefer alternate). If she were a man, then sure.
She knows how to bake cakes, of course I would.
Nope! She can’t pick and choose your friends for you !
A baker and great tits? I’m in. Femme to femme, she’s a catch.
Yes.
%100
She was intelligent, sweet, gorgeous, and she could bake. She was loyal and would have been a perfect mother.
Yes. 100%. I’ve just met my Victoria, actually. I hope it goes well.
Ofc
Yep
Still likes her more than Tracy. I'm expecting a lynch mob to come after me soon.
In a heartbeat.
YES!!!
