With Victoria as the mother and the bakery re-meet scene, the planned ending actually works perfectly. Robin realizes her feelings for Ted, but they don't get together because he meets the mother of his children. They reunite years later without all of the baggage that proved their incompatibility. (For the record, I hate that they shoehorned in an ending they wrote nearly a decade earlier. I didn't really care WHY Ted was telling the kids his story.)

She 'wore a lot of stupid hats' and was pretty much against Ted in every argument. Also pretty manipulative before they ended up together. I know it's subjective, but come on! There's no way in hell Victoria is the most annoying, when Zoey exists. There are also side-characters that are far more irritable as genuine human beings, but I'll digress.

Ahh, yes, Zoey was absolutely awful. But Victoria was worse. ;)

Honestly, it’s kind of hard to describe! I actually made a post about her a long time ago and a few people agreed with me. It’s something about her mannerisms and sense of immaturity. She’s too wide-eyed and bushy-tailed for my taste. Like, I can’t take her seriously. With Zoey, she was definitely dramatic and annoying for her own reasons, but at least I could respect her as an adult, if that makes sense? Victoria reminds me of an over-excited teenager or something.

Hmm I guess to each on their own, we all personally can dislike some characters based on certain traits that annoy us

Ted and Victoria marry and the show ends that season. There were two options depending on if the show got renewed.

the "robin problem" would have shown up eventually. there's no avoiding that one.

Well at that point he only had a crush on robin, later on in the show the robin problem persists because he'd been in love with her for several years, he really moved on from Robin with Victoria I think, which is why he didnt care at that time if barney tried to sleep with her

I think the Robin problem still would’ve happened. Because Ted at that point never dated Robin so he still had her as his dream woman in the back of his head. He would’ve always had Robin in his mind as sort of a “back up” if him and Victoria ended or the true “prize.” He got a little too excited to find out Robin was into him when he was technically still with Victoria. Honestly, I think it would’ve been worse of them not dating vs them dating. Since Robin and Ted didn’t date yet when he was with Victoria, there would always be this “what if” and there would always be this unspoken chemistry. That would understandably be really uncomfortable to be Victoria, as she clearly expressed it in s1 and even in s7. When they dated and broke up, there was a reason they didn’t work out so there would not be a what if vs not dating and wondering where they would be

They could have had her get smoked by a bus crossing the street. Or ya know, any other way to get them to break up.

There’s a world where she’s the mother. I think if the show didn’t get past season 1 they had her set up to be the mother. Also I think they were using her as a hedge if they couldn’t get season 8& 9 approved from cbs

He would’ve taken Victoria to Marshall and lilies wedding but broke up due to the tension she senses between robin and Ted like it season 8 (I think)

That's the show. Victoria had no reason at that time to get hissy over Robin, and Ted was in love with Victoria. They would have probably gotten married.

I think each of teds girlfriends represent the potential of the mother if something didnt get in the way. Distance got in the way of Victoria, another man got in the way with Stella, work got in the way with Zoey, etc. It goes to show how close we are to living another life entirely
