I mean, she was the mother if they couldn't finish. I heard that she was the backup plan if they got canceled at end of first season, to just have them live happily ever after.
With Victoria as the mother and the bakery re-meet scene, the planned ending actually works perfectly.
Robin realizes her feelings for Ted, but they don't get together because he meets the mother of his children. They reunite years later without all of the baggage that proved their incompatibility.
(For the record, I hate that they shoehorned in an ending they wrote nearly a decade earlier. I didn't really care WHY Ted was telling the kids his story.)
She 'wore a lot of stupid hats' and was pretty much against Ted in every argument. Also pretty manipulative before they ended up together. I know it's subjective, but come on! There's no way in hell Victoria is the most annoying, when Zoey exists. There are also side-characters that are far more irritable as genuine human beings, but I'll digress.
Honestly, itâs kind of hard to describe! I actually made a post about her a long time ago and a few people agreed with me. Itâs something about her mannerisms and sense of immaturity. Sheâs too wide-eyed and bushy-tailed for my taste. Like, I canât take her seriously.
With Zoey, she was definitely dramatic and annoying for her own reasons, but at least I could respect her as an adult, if that makes sense? Victoria reminds me of an over-excited teenager or something.
ted and robin didnât start dating till after victoria and ted broke up. if victoria didnât go to germany, thereâs a chance that teds feelings towards robin wouldâve never developed to the extent they did
Well at that point he only had a crush on robin, later on in the show the robin problem persists because he'd been in love with her for several years, he really moved on from Robin with Victoria I think, which is why he didnt care at that time if barney tried to sleep with her
I think the Robin problem still wouldâve happened. Because Ted at that point never dated Robin so he still had her as his dream woman in the back of his head. He wouldâve always had Robin in his mind as sort of a âback upâ if him and Victoria ended or the true âprize.â He got a little too excited to find out Robin was into him when he was technically still with Victoria.
Honestly, I think it wouldâve been worse of them not dating vs them dating. Since Robin and Ted didnât date yet when he was with Victoria, there would always be this âwhat ifâ and there would always be this unspoken chemistry. That would understandably be really uncomfortable to be Victoria, as she clearly expressed it in s1 and even in s7.
When they dated and broke up, there was a reason they didnât work out so there would not be a what if vs not dating and wondering where they would be
She would have worked with NASA on baking in space on the ISS, or she would just start running back and forth across the country, or she might have taken up ping pong and traveled on a goodwill mission to China.
Thereâs a world where sheâs the mother. I think if the show didnât get past season 1 they had her set up to be the mother. Also I think they were using her as a hedge if they couldnât get season 8& 9 approved from cbs
He wouldâve taken Victoria to Marshall and lilies wedding but broke up due to the tension she senses between robin and Ted like it season 8 (I think)
How could've that affected the show or how could that have affected the show? Which way did you mean to word that because those are 2 different questions. The way you worded it implies that you think it wouldn't make a difference as opposed to asking us how it would be different....
That's the show. Victoria had no reason at that time to get hissy over Robin, and Ted was in love with Victoria. They would have probably gotten married.
I think each of teds girlfriends represent the potential of the mother if something didnt get in the way. Distance got in the way of Victoria, another man got in the way with Stella, work got in the way with Zoey, etc. It goes to show how close we are to living another life entirely
The gang dies of diabetus.
The entire gang is morbidly obese from season 2 to 4 when all the characters die from obesity related illnesses.
I laughed for a solid minute lmfaoo

Do you have a source? Sounds like a very interesting plot (love Victoria)
Read the notes https://how-i-met-your-mother.fandom.com/wiki/Victoria
It is interesting indeed
What do you love about her? To me, Victoria may be the most annoying character of any show Iâve ever watched.
Do you remember zoey?
Itâs ringing a very faint bell.. canât pull an image to mind, though.
She 'wore a lot of stupid hats' and was pretty much against Ted in every argument. Also pretty manipulative before they ended up together. I know it's subjective, but come on! Ahh, yes, Zoey was absolutely awful. But Victoria was worse. ;)
What did Victoria do to you đ„ș?

Hmm I guess to each on their own, we all personally can dislike some characters based on certain traits that annoy us
[Hmmm..........](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CUb8oOoU0Bk)
Lol
Ted and Victoria marry and the show ends that season. There were two options depending on if the show got renewed.
the "robin problem" would have shown up eventually. there's no avoiding that one.
I personally don't think it would have that early on.
But then Ted would have never cheated on Victoria with Robin (or tried to).
still, she knows that they did date. Maybe they both share a look and Victoria notices, or she gets jealous of their inside joke "Major Buzzkill"
ted and robin didnât start dating till after victoria and ted broke up. if victoria didnât go to germany, thereâs a chance that teds feelings towards robin wouldâve never developed to the extent they did
*Technically* they broke up after Ted and Robin made out. Nothing good happens after 2.
But they started dating much later
*major buzzkill o7*

They could have had her get smoked by a bus crossing the street. Or ya know, any other way to get them to break up.
Wow that's some very serious way if getting rid of a character
How about licking poisonous wedding invitations?
Poor Susan.
*Lily
Or have her develop an incurable hiccuping disease
Well other than getting smoked by the bus What other thing could they breakup upon?
Any of 59 different ways that Ted and his GFs broke up over the course of the show.
same reason they originally break up...robin.
Why am I laughing so hard at this comment?
Barney got smoked by a bus and lived. Victoria could have survived that.
Not the kind of smoke Iâm talking about
I think Ted wouldâve married her and then gotten super fat, went through an awful divorce, and lost all his money in a settlement
Ted would have still cheated on her imo
She would have worked with NASA on baking in space on the ISS, or she would just start running back and forth across the country, or she might have taken up ping pong and traveled on a goodwill mission to China.
Marshall would be proud of your correct usage of âaffectâ
Thereâs a world where sheâs the mother. I think if the show didnât get past season 1 they had her set up to be the mother. Also I think they were using her as a hedge if they couldnât get season 8& 9 approved from cbs

Well, the cheating wouldnât have happen. And the show runner wouldnât gotten the chance to make Victoria into a snob
How could've that affected the show or how could that have affected the show? Which way did you mean to word that because those are 2 different questions. The way you worded it implies that you think it wouldn't make a difference as opposed to asking us how it would be different....
I'm asking how it would be different.
You mean if the writers completely changed the plot of the entire show, how would the show have been different?
Well I guess I am
I think seeing Ted and Victoria for a few more episodes back in season 1 would have been interesting. The Robin problem would still emerge.
Robin might have gone back to Canada, or moved elsewhere for her career
I mean given that she was the falesafe mother if the show wasn't renewed then she and Ted probably live happily ever after
They would've broken up some other way, Ted would've still been reeeally into Robin
That's the show. Victoria had no reason at that time to get hissy over Robin, and Ted was in love with Victoria. They would have probably gotten married.
They would have broken up by the end of the season She was only introduced to be the mother if the show was cancelled
I think each of teds girlfriends represent the potential of the mother if something didnt get in the way. Distance got in the way of Victoria, another man got in the way with Stella, work got in the way with Zoey, etc. It goes to show how close we are to living another life entirely
Robin got in the way of Victoria,
I would have stopped watching.
Victoria was always going to get an internship in Germany so the question is irrelevant.
Ted wouldn't whine about finding "the one" for nine seasons and could've wrapped the bitch up in one đŹ
The end was surely better
The show wouldve ended after one season and ted wouldnt have hit 34 without getting married. Good for ted, bad for us
