This was the first episode I ever saw, I caught it randomly on cable one night. It did not make me want to start watching the series, but I’m obviously glad I did eventually!

I never skip episodes, but the one I consider skipping is The Pre-Nup from season 8. Probably the worst episode of the show in my eyes. If you scroll through my post history, I made a post about why some time ago.
Time Travellers the ending is obviously outstanding but most of the episode is weak. I agree with you about the Ashtray and Weekend At Barney's.
The others you listed I still feel are weak compared to other seasons.

Eh I guess to each their own. The whole Arcadian arc was easily one of the weaker season stories imo: Landmarks, Oh Honey/Any episode around Zoey, Big Days. These episodes just seem either forgettable or rememberable for being bad. I will give a few like Glitter, Natural History, and The Captain becoming a main character, but not much else

My dad passed at the end of 2012, three weeks before Christmas (colon cancer) and that season was soon after that...I just couldn't. I still get really sad when I see episodes from that arc.

I actually really liked the rhyming episode. I honestly didnt know the guy who rapped on the bus was Lin Manuel (hope i got that name right).
I just think that episode highlights the creativity and talent of the writing crew, just to be able to rhyme, well, for a whole episode while telling funny stories made me like it.
I agree with Zoo or False but I thought Say Cheese was important because Ted took a chance on Lily right away when Marshall first started dating her.

I see a lot of people saying they don’t like ‘bedtime stories’ and ‘slappointment in slapmarra’, but I think they’re really fun. (Although, after watching bedtime stories I do tend to rhyme everything I think for te next hour , lol) I just watch all of them even the goofy ones. it’s what I like about the show, it can get pretty serious or sweet but it’s also just for laughs.

Girls vs suits could be first episode of series because nothing before it has anything to do with getting remotely close to meeting tracy.....its kinda the first important episode in my opinion. Unless theres an episode called just " suits"

The musical Suits was Neil being Neil not Neil being Barney. I never cared for it. The whole thing is very well done but I didn't like it. It wasn't Barney.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is an amazing artist. Sadly that episode is not the best. I don't skip it, but my head takes a moment to adjust to non-rhyming when the next episode starts playing.
I love the don harassment especially after Robin turned the job down first then she let him think he was first choice and left her... it justified the harassment of don. And Robin wasn't harassed, it comes with being in the gang.
Tick, Tick, Tick - the Robin/Barney story is poignant and the ending is so powerful, but the Ted/Marshall Palooza story line gives me SUCH BAD ANXIETY!
The end of the episode when it shows what actually happened during their time at the Palooza is probably one of my favourite parts of the whole show, but I'm also really mad at the writers for doing what they did because hardly anyone in their right mind would do what Kevin did.
I think it's called Atlantic City. But it's the one where Marshall and Lily almost get married on a boat in AC. Robin wears the bikini shirt.

There's only one episode I don't like and it's Bedtime Stories, as you also mentioned. I'd never skip it if I'm rewatching the show but it's the only episode I leave on as background noise

Not really. Assault is perpetrating physical harm on another person, it doesn’t matter if it’s during a fight. Case in point, in that same episode the guys that lost the fight try to sue Doug for assault.

I actually think the storytime episode is one of the better of the last season since it has the whole gang and tells stories we never heard. I either watch them all in order without skipping or just pick an episode at random.....but if I randomly pick one with stella or zoey I'll skip unless it's natural history or oh honey.

I skip scenes as opposed to whole episodes. The one that's always skipped is Marshall's soliloquy about the burger. I know it's straight from Amadeus, but man, I cringe just thinking out it.

There are probably between 20 and 30 more episodes that I've just watched too many times and don't really want to see anymore, but I don't bother skipping them when I put the show on again.
I skip Sandcastles in the Sand because the ending is a painful scene for me personally. I know it's not a painful scene in and of itself, but it still brings up a very unpleasant memory for me.

I generally skip sad episodes because that damn show is so good at making you cry.

The one where Ted missed his plane because he was in course because he jumped over the ticket toll in the subway to rescue Barney because he couldn't walk anymore because he was running a marathon because Marshall dared him to do that because Marshall wanted to run but broke his toe because he slipped in the bathroom because Robin surprised him there etc...... It had some funny scenes but dude stop pushing the blame around. You just shouldn't have jumped over!
I skip scenes as opposed to whole episodes. The one that's always skipped is Marshall's soliloquy about the burger. I know it's straight from Amadeus, but man, I cringe just thinking out it.
I skip most If not all of Stella's episodes. Second date. Slutty Pumpkin returns. There are a few others I'm sure. Season 1 and 2 are GOLD.
Most of season 9 honestly. Especially that last Slapsgiving episode. Also that episode with Marshall and the monkey. Forgot what season that was, but it was just too goofy for me
S1E1, S1E2, S1E18, S1E21, S1E22 S4E16, S4E17 S5E16 S6E13 S7E9, S7E10 The final two episodes There are probably between 20 and 30 more episodes that I've just watched too many times and don't really want to see anymore, but I don't bother skipping them when I put the show on again.

I skip Sandcastles in the Sand because the ending is a painful scene for me personally. I know it's not a painful scene in and of itself, but it still brings up a very unpleasant memory for me.

I would like to hear your reasons as you box up the things in and on your desk, afterward I would like you to turn in your membership card at the front desk, as security politely escorts you out of the HIMYM Fan Club building(the one with no windows next to the Ambassador building...) also, if you would, catch that light switch on your way out, and be sure to let the door hit you in the rearend and let your tie/dress get caught in the elevator doors... for good measure of course.

I don’t skip it but what was up with the guy jumping to his death episode when Nora and Barney are on the balcony. Pretty dark for a comedy show.
Just skipped my first episode ever and had to come back to this thread to say: "Of Course" The one with Jennifer Lopez. Her acting is cringier than all the other guest actors/actresses combined.
