To be honest, I think many of the Automatons aren't meant to be soldiers. The Trooper aim is _dreadful_ even at short range.
Hulks, tanks, Berserkers? Sure. Devastators? Probably, though maybe they're just equipping themselves heavily. But troopers? No way these things are designed for combat ground-up.
The peaceful race got their cyberstan but didnt stop there. So much for being peacefull. And also cyberstan is an ice planet there is no foliage so there is no purpose for chainsaw arms!
I only use it against big enemies like hulks,turrets, and tanks. I didn't need it up quick for those guys. 1-2 shots will take them all. I hide behind cover and throw stun grenades at hulks to drop them with one shot
I started using the arm over the quasar today. It's amazing how quickly you can down a group a devastators and hulks are a non-issue. Not to mention you can take out 2-3 scout ships in one mag. I still use the 500kg and walking barrage for tanks though.
Only thing I hate about it is the shake when anything happens (explosions, strategems landing near you etc).
For me it happens more often than it misses. True it's not as reliable as the single target strategems, but it also clears out the column of bots chasing me so it's worth it imo.
Not enough to compensate for being able to solo Bile titans and chargers. Couple with the sickle and even on Hellmire you have a great pairing to keep the chaff off and take down the big guys.
Granted the recoiless is to me is better but, the need to reload in a fixed spot is not viable in high levels without a coordinated team. Same reason why i choose quasar over the Autocannon. Both are useless without a team that understand you need the hunters kept off you while you reload before the charger has a chance to get to you.
Usually I can mow down the immediate danger chaff units swap to a quasar and fire off a shot and then go back to keeping the chaff off while NOT needing other teammates to keep me alive. The most deadly enemy right now are the hunters. If they every boost the stalkers too. it will be a cold day for liberty.
I know trying to keep up with that when two bile titans and a charger running around with 10 or so hunters on you and you're the only 40+ level dude on a Hell dive and trying to keep the level fifteen guy alive who does not even know the dive crouch dive chicken dance yet. Yea sorry gotta stick with the Quasar.
Though I do love running the AC.

It's pretty decent against berserkers since it staggers them reliably, and staggers the whole packed crowd because they start dropping in groups of like 4 from diff 5-6 already lol. It's just when there are several such packs running towards your team, and those two rocket devas need attention, and maybe you could also spare time to snipe that hulk…
Unless they somehow broke it in the latest patch, this is not true. Cooldown is shorter on cold planets, longer on hot planets. This is also true for other laser weapons, the tooltip saying they take longer/shorter to overheat isn't correct.

I remember trying the Quasar on a cold planet when the new weapons came out, and while it did cool down fast, it still didn't let me fire again until a couple seconds after that.
Man, I *want* to like the QC, but I really just can't get over that wind-up, and how the visual effects fuck with my aim. I got nothin' but respect for the guys who can casually headshot Hulks and shit with it, but I'll stick with my Recoilless.
With autocannon, reloading before empty is actually best. Since there is no magazine to eject, there is no lost ammo. Reloading before empty means you don't need to rack the gun to chamber the first round, and can go straight back to shooting.

Defense mission is everything I wanted, massive horde storms one position that you must hold, chokepoints for days and like a minute or two at the start to prepare. Bring mortars(both) for adds and mediums, Quasar for heavies and 500kg/Laser for when things start going FUBAR. Smooth sailing from here if everyone know what they are doing.
Those precious 2 minutes before shit goes to hell gets me so amped up. Watching everyone scramble, put down emplacements, support weapons, backpacks, supplies. Closing doors, manning HMGs. God I love democracy

Hate how there is no difference in missions for offensive vs defensive planets. Like how do the boys have anti air and full on bases setup on. Planet they are invading.
I mean, not hard to imagine they can drop that shit in. Anti-air is just a big gun and they have drop ships.
But I 100% agree I think missions on defend planets need to be almost entirely different from normal ones. Extract, destroy evidence/tech/sabotage infrastructure, and then defending against sieges.

Oh, I worked out why you get spammed with "you are within range of enemy artillery" voice lines. It gets played for every time a Helldiver enters the range of it, so even if you're on the other side of the map, you'll hear it. And that's why it goes off so often,

If you go quasar + some reliable med-pen main weapon, you are set for anything. Like you said, you only need to know when to use what.

Walking barrage for tanks? How often does it hit?

Hot temps only yield a 33% increase to cooldown. Takes it from 10 seconds to 13. I still prefer the RR in hot environments though.

Nah, you can definitely notice how much faster the cooldown is on colder planets. Coming from someone who uses the sickle regularly.

Heat and frost do not affect quasar cannon as it does not rely on atmospheric heat dissipation. It blasts the same in all climates.

If you join mid-mission you can get that alert to play during the loading screen. Enemy artillery can target the upper atmosphere, apparently.
