I have a feeling that Arrowhead is going to give us 1 or 2 more attempts to earn it and if we fail, the bots are going to start using them. It seems like we are going to start getting some new vehicles in addition to the two mechs soon. Imagine after we start using them and destroying the bots, the bots will use all the anti tank mine materials we failed to liberate to make their own mines that can instantly destroy our vehicles. Then we can have a MO about destroying their mine factory and capturing their schematics for the mines. If we succeed, the bots stop using the mines and we finally get them, but if we fail, the bots continuing blowing up our vehicles with them.
Ooh that would be a neat penalty if the bots started deploying the anti-tank mines in addition to their normal oversized ones. Maybe some dropships just sprinkle mines all over an area.

Im betting that the devs are going to just not release them outright and roll them into a modifier. Like they are a rare commodity since we only got so many production facilities out there for them. So a new modifier that buffs the amount of heavy units that spawn can be madea nd you get anti tank mines for free when that modifier is up to help helldivers counter the increased numbers.

I don't understand why they don't just add new stratas to the store like they did with the quasar and hmg instead of tying them to MOs that can be failed... there are SO many unreleased yet fully functional stratagems and tying them to MOs makes the release of them SO slow. Then there's the troll ass people that purposefully sabotage AT mine MOs for the "memes" or "mines bad". We aren't getting any of the other stratagems until we get those AT mines out of the way first.
I can't wait for the message " despite all obstacles we finally made anti tank mines available helldivers." Then the community will promptly never use them.

Liberate a random Bot planet for a major order that doesn't mention the AT mines at all and unexpectedly unlock the mines. Dispatch says "Oh, looks like the bots transfered the AT mines materials here. How lucky. AT mines available for purchase"
The real answer is that they're just not gonna give us a choice and it'll either be either get the mines or fail the major order, and I don't think there's enough people willing to lose on purpose to avoid getting those mines.
Im convinced we won't get them next time we avoid them. We know there are vehicles we will be able to drive when they are dropped so maybe it will be an enemy weapon. Factory striders drop them as they move or something like that. I mean they almost gave the bots the mech.

To put 400,000 into perspective I’ve got 160 hours in the game with roughly 20,000 bot kills and 22,000 bug kills

Considering the efficacy of regular mines vs their intended targets, I wouldn't be convinced.

Anti Tank Mines are hidden within the core of Hellmire! Nuke the planet and destroy it permanently to get the mines! This would be extremely funny because we need to decide whether avoiding the mines is worth not destroying that shithole.

The real answer is that they're just not gonna give us a choice and it'll either be either get the mines or fail the major order, and I don't think there's enough people willing to lose on purpose to avoid getting those mines.
We had that once before. We lost. All we had to do was kill bots. No choice, no specific planet just kill bots where ever you want.

Im convinced we won't get them next time we avoid them. We know there are vehicles we will be able to drive when they are dropped so maybe it will be an enemy weapon. Factory striders drop them as they move or something like that. I mean they almost gave the bots the mech.
