It does trivialize game modes like MoC but I also made the conscious decision not to pull beyond E1 for FX and Silverwolf. Reason being I’m an Arlan main. I’ve made the gameplay about keeping Arlan’s health as low as possible while keeping him alive.
I haven’t pulled beyond E1 on FX and SW yet because I’m building around Arlan, not MoC. I’m just glad to share that not all whales are DPS mains, rather enjoy collecting support units. Of course, refraining from pulling Acheron, DHIL or Jingliu DOES NOT make me less of a whale. But I’m staying in this game for Arlan until someone replaces E6 Sparkle.

Lower level whaling is pretty doable if you cut costs elsewhere. I dropped my food expenses to like 20-30$ a week, started walking everywhere instead of driving, and now I just put half of the money I save from that into my gacha fund. I actually save more money now lol.

Imagine Sparkle, Bronya and Tingyun constantly forwarding and battery charge FX. Every 1.5 turns or so FX nukes the map.
Aventurine is definitely Arlan's best in slot. The reason why I used Fu Xuan over Aventurine is because Sparkle has better synergies with FX + SW over Aventurine alone.
This question is similar if you'd ask why'd I use Yanqing instead of SilverWolf for Dr. Ratio. SW is Dr. Ratio's BiS debuffer but there's more value having three FUAs for Aventurine.
But you could just maximize the value of your dps instead of giving aventurine 1 extra stack a turn.
Something like ratio sw sparkle fx lets ratio maximize his dmg while you can still run aventurine arlan yanqing ruan mei and both dps who really want aventurine will have him and you still have that occasional fua from yanqing.
Well… I’m also a Dr. Ratio + Aventurine shipper so some decisions become less optimal.
I would also say though, given Arlan is SP Neutral. I’m able to spam both SilverWolf’s and Fu Xuan’s skills which allows me to regen their ults and contribute more consistent DPS for all three units.

I 5 cycled Aventurine (boss) with Yanqing and (all e0) team of aventurine, sparkle and e6 tingyun, which was a fun little challenge to do (you can also get lower cycle if you have better rng than me) in the last moc. This... with an e6 aventurine, he basically becomes a dps lmao. And e6 sparkle gives her buffed unit like 400 crit dmg it's crazy (although this is my experience with a friend's e6s5 sparkle). I'd be concerned if they can't clear.
E6 Arlan can definitely do it with e0 5* supports. Pretty sure there's at least one clear on youtube.
I...personally have E2 SW (Saved from 1.0 til her banner), E1 Aventurine (2.0+2.1 gems), and E1S1 Bronya on my Arlan team, but my Arlan is only E3 and struggles a lot with the aoe part. If I had the higher aoe of his E6 (or E6 Tingyun to synergize with the moc blessing), I'm pretty sure I could cut my cycles down sharply and not need the eidolons.
I think that, for someone with E6 arlan or Tingyun, the only gamechanging parts here are Bronya's E1 and S1 for freedom of sp. SW is replaceable with other supports and Aventurine or Gepard work fine without eidolons.
I often wish I could turn Eidolons off one-by-one to test this stuff, but I do feel fairly confident on this because I've seen other people do it.

I think the lifesteal he provides gives him insane value as an off-turn sustainer. If youre in a pinch, either his follow up heal saves you or lifesteal from other team mates ultimates / attacks. While he doesn't give any direct stat buffs like huo huo or aventurine, these buffs quickly become diminished if your team is unable to act. Against the aventurine boss for example, I never needed to invest SP into Luocha a single time, I could just keep firing my DPS because the lifesteal and follow up heal kept me alive.

Luocha’s gimmick was mostly on his dispel which removed enemy auto-revive. Currently, his niche is dependent on enemy wherein Gallagher’s niche is on team composition.
Not saying Luocha underperforms on general utility… but there’s no incentive to pull for him in the future. I can’t imagine a future unit which will want Luocha like how Acheron brought Silverwolf back to life…

After getting Topaz E1S1 I'm locked in only pulling for support LC and Eidolons. I have to many characters... and I want to use them all. Only way to make a "weak" DPS character good is invest on supports and LC. And that's also a really good way to build an account long therm.

I’ve built Arlan as how you would build Blade. I pulled Blade’s LC because Arlan will need the 70% CRIT Rate minimum to enable Rutilant’s buff. I rely on FX’s CRIT buff. And another +16% from Longevous stacks.
Then, the rest of his stats go into CRIT DMG. Blade’s build is really SLOW. So this Arlan build relies a lot on Sparkle for turn advancement as well, you may need a Bronya.
Silverwolf is optional. Tingyun is really good.

aventurine and ratio work great together, and ruan mei buffs anyone really well. yanqing actually is a detriment there if anything, just use pela instead. she can use pearls (the lc with luka on it) or the one from the first silverwolf event if you have it. and her build is just high speed + 57% effect hit rate before her +10% trace.
sparkle can also work in place of ruan mei, silverwolf or topaz are good too.
any debuffer + any support will do well with aventurine + ratio, within reason ofc

There’s runs of e2 dhil running 4 star artifacts 0 cycling moc12. Relics are not THAT big a factor when it comes to units with overloaded eidolons.

I 5 cycled Aventurine (boss) with Yanqing and (all e0) team of aventurine, sparkle and e6 tingyun, which was a fun little challenge to do (you can also get lower cycle if you have better rng than me) in the last moc. This... with an e6 aventurine, he basically becomes a dps lmao. And e6 sparkle gives her buffed unit like 400 crit dmg it's crazy (although this is my experience with a friend's e6s5 sparkle). I'd be concerned if they can't clear.

E6 Arlan can definitely do it with e0 5* supports. Pretty sure there's at least one clear on youtube. I...personally have E2 SW (Saved from 1.0 til her banner), E1 Aventurine (2.0+2.1 gems), and E1S1 Bronya on my Arlan team, but my Arlan is only E3 and struggles a lot with the aoe part. If I had the higher aoe of his E6 (or E6 Tingyun to synergize with the moc blessing), I'm pretty sure I could cut my cycles down sharply and not need the eidolons. I think that, for someone with E6 arlan or Tingyun, the only gamechanging parts here are Bronya's E1 and S1 for freedom of sp. SW is replaceable with other supports and Aventurine or Gepard work fine without eidolons. I often wish I could turn Eidolons off one-by-one to test this stuff, but I do feel fairly confident on this because I've seen other people do it.

How do you feel about Luocha long-term? I have had him benched ever since I pulled for Aventurine ;-( I wish I can use him again
I think the lifesteal he provides gives him insane value as an off-turn sustainer. If youre in a pinch, either his follow up heal saves you or lifesteal from other team mates ultimates / attacks. While he doesn't give any direct stat buffs like huo huo or aventurine, these buffs quickly become diminished if your team is unable to act. Against the aventurine boss for example, I never needed to invest SP into Luocha a single time, I could just keep firing my DPS because the lifesteal and follow up heal kept me alive.
Good point! He also has a SPD buff when you pull for his LC. Strong choice for sustain but has no niche like HuoHuo or Aventurine!

Rather sad that an E2 4 star does better than an 5 star now.
Luocha’s gimmick was mostly on his dispel which removed enemy auto-revive. Currently, his niche is dependent on enemy wherein Gallagher’s niche is on team composition. Not saying Luocha underperforms on general utility… but there’s no incentive to pull for him in the future. I can’t imagine a future unit which will want Luocha like how Acheron brought Silverwolf back to life…

That's awesome! After getting Topaz E1S1 I'm locked in only pulling for support LC and Eidolons. I have to many characters... and I want to use them all. Only way to make a "weak" DPS character good is invest on supports and LC. And that's also a really good way to build an account long therm.

Hey! I’ve built Arlan as how you would build Blade. I pulled Blade’s LC because Arlan will need the 70% CRIT Rate minimum to enable Rutilant’s buff. I rely on FX’s CRIT buff. And another +16% from Longevous stacks. Then, the rest of his stats go into CRIT DMG. Blade’s build is really SLOW. So this Arlan build relies a lot on Sparkle for turn advancement as well, you may need a Bronya. Silverwolf is optional. Tingyun is really good.
Oh, i thought Arlan built with 4PC Lightning set. Okay, thanks for this. I still have a long way to build him as I'm still farming for Firefly's.
I'd refrain farming for the Lightning set mainly because the Hackerspace set is too good to pass up!

aventurine and ratio work great together, and ruan mei buffs anyone really well. yanqing actually is a detriment there if anything, just use pela instead. she can use pearls (the lc with luka on it) or the one from the first silverwolf event if you have it. and her build is just high speed + 57% effect hit rate before her +10% trace. sparkle can also work in place of ruan mei, silverwolf or topaz are good too. any debuffer + any support will do well with aventurine + ratio, within reason ofc
